Assessment plays a vital role in outcome-based education (OBE). This article describes the characteristics of assessment and appropriate assessment instruments for measuring learning outcomes in OBE. Assessment in OBE needs to be formative, continuous, and frequent. Miller's pyramid is useful for selecting the appropriate assessment instruments to reflect a specific outcome; different methods can be applied to evaluate one outcome. Outcomes and competency mean that student must 'do'; therefore, performance tests are emphasized. Qualitative methods as well as quantitative methods are used to evaluate the outcomes of areas such as professionalism or ethics. An absolute criterion-based standard is usually applied to decide whether students pass or fail, but the decision should be based on gathering value judgments and reaching consensus. Active participation of faculty members and students in assessment is crucial.
The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of nursing simulation-based practice education on learning outcome and teaching experience in nursing students. Pretest-posttest design with nonequivalent control group was utilized to analyze the effects of nursing simulation-based practice education. The subjects were 96 students of a nursing college. All subjects participated in 6 week. The data were analyzed by the SPSS win 17.0 program. The results were as follows; There were statistically significant differences in learning outcome and teaching experience effects of nursing simulation-based practice education in nursing students. In conclusion, we required nursing simulation-based practice education and small group discussion analysis of factors are associated with goal-setting skills and self-presentation skills, goal setting skills. We required nursing simulation-based practice education training to strengthen the ability of self-directed learning program utilizing the repeated study.
This study aimed to identify the causal relationships among self-regulated learning strategy, problem solving efficacy, task value and learning outcome, and mediation effect of self-regulated learning strategy in engineering capstone design course. The data were collected from 363 university students who enrolled in capstone design courses and analyzed using structural equation modeling method. The results were: first, problem-solving efficacy and task value exerted significant effects on self-regulated learning strategy. Second, self-regulated learning strategy exerted significant effects on learning outcome, but problem-solving efficacy and task value did not. Third, problem-solving efficacy and task value showed significant indirect effects on learning outcome, which confirmed that self-regulated learning strategy fully mediated between two exogenous variables and learning outcome.
This study aims to research the influencing factors of field education outcome. This study is to help the social welfare subject find out the field education orientation. Following is the result brought out from the research. First, it was found that the evaluation of field manager, field agency and field education outcome working in social welfare agencies had no meaningful statistical difference. An educational outcome cohort has been established at Keimyung University School of Medicine to help make educational policy decisions and improve educational programs based on data. The purpose of the educational outcome cohort is to support educational policy decisions for achieving graduation outcomes smoothly and to accomplish the intended human resources development of the university through objective analyses and regular monitoring, providing continuous feedback. The data collected for the educational outcome cohort include the student identifications of freshmen, entrance exam scores, premedical and medical school grades, titles and forms of student academic research, the results of psychological testing, scholarship recipient lists, volunteer clubs, and so forth. The data are collected using an information utilization agreement approved by the Institutional Review Board, and the collected data are encrypted and stored on a dedicated computer for enhanced personal information security. Proposals to access and utilize the educational outcome cohort data must be discussed and approved by the Educational Outcome Cohort Committee, which decides on the scope and method of utilization. The collected and managed educational outcome cohort data have been used to develop comparative programs to improve students' competency and to support admission policy decisions through an analysis of the characteristics and performance of medical school students. The establishment and utilization of the educational outcome cohort will play an important role in determining the School of Medicine's educational policies and suggesting new directions for educational policies in the future.

In recent times, there has been a shift towards student-centered higher education policies, leading to a growing interest among universities to improve students' learning outcomes. To aid in this endeavor, this study aims to provide guidance for University K to enhance their learning outcome management by comparing and analyzing their learning outcome indicators with those of other domestic and foreign universities. The study examined detailed measurement questions from major learning outcome measurement tools such as AHELO, NSSE, and CLA+. Upon comparison and analysis of University K's major learning outcome indicators with those of other universities, it was found that most of the indicators overlapped. However, some indicators such as student support/facilities for learning, instructor quality, and communication were absent from University K. Therefore, it is crucial to decide whether to add these indicators to the existing learning outcomes or to confirm them through other surveys. Moreover, even for the same indicator, some indicators with different measurement need to consider changing the measurement.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the use of outcome indicators and perception of outcome evaluation of oncology advanced practice nurses (APNs). Method: A total of 111 oncology APNs from hospitals which have over 400 beds were surveyed. The participants' use of outcome indicators and perception of outcome evaluation were collected using a questionnaire including 84 outcome indicators for APNs developed by Sung et al. and 13 items on APNs' contribution to the hospitals developed by Kleinpell (2005). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and $x^2$ test. Result: Twelve items out of 84 outcome indicators were used over 50% of the time and 57 items could be used in the future by the participants. Seven of the 10 top-ranking outcome indicators in use were education related and were also expected to be used frequently in the future. The score for participants' perception of outcome evaluation was average-high, 3.82 out of 5. Conclusions: The results of the study show that the main outcome indicator for oncology APNs is education related, and thus the use of education related outcome indicators is recommended to make oncology APNs' activities be more visible.

Outcome-based learning is a global trend in medical education. The Korean Association of Medical Colleges (KAMC) has been developing learning objectives for basic medical education (BME) in Korea. In 2012, KAMC published the 1st edition of "Learning outcomes of basic medical education: Clinical competency-centered" in order to promote outcome-based medical education. KAMC has recently revised and updated the learning outcomes of basic medical education in the clinical competency-centered 2nd edition to reflect the suggestions of all medical schools in Korea and improve application of the published learning outcomes for BME in the field of medical education. KAMC has been making efforts to integrate clinical competency-centered learning outcomes with scientific concepts and principle-centered learning outcomes in addition to basic clinical skills and performance in BME.
