The subject of this study were 191 teachers in private pre-school institutes. Halpin's "Leadership Behavior Description Questionnaire" and Paula Jorde Bloom(1989)'s "Early Childhood Job Satisfaction Survey" have been modified and used for this study. The results are as follows: First, the leadership types of the chief teacher is recognizing can be classified into effective leadership, initiating structure, consideration, and ineffective leadership. Second, in regard to the occupational satisfaction of teachers they are satisfied with occupation itself and relationship between people rather than pay, social stability, and the environment of working. Third, the relationship between the leadership types of the chief and the occupational satisfaction shows the meaningful difference and consideration among the leadership types indicates the higher satisfaction of teachers. On the other hand, the type of ineffective leadership shows the lower satisfaction. As a result, the type of leadership of consideration contributes to the satisfaction rather than the types of leadership such as effective, ineffective, and initiating structure.

By fulfilling the purpose of the research, proper qualifications for a mentor of outstanding abilities, which would be desired by teachers in infant educational organizations, should be established while preliminary data on the mentor teacher training to improve the professionalism of a mentor is expected to be provided. The research was carried out targeting 319 teachers in infants' educational organizations located in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do. The measuring instrument used was a recognized survey on how the mentor qualifications for the mentoring conducted by infants' educational organizations. The survey consisted of 22 questions. The researcher personally designed the survey based on results generated from preliminary research. SPSS 14.0 was used to analyze selected data as average, standard deviation and one-way layout dispersion. In addition, a post-analysis on the one-way layout dispersion was conducted via the Scheffe posteriori test. The results demonstrated that the mentor qualifications for the mentoring were differently recognized by teachers in infants' educational organizations according to both teacher's personal backgrounds (age, teaching experience, educational background and position) and experiences with the mentee and the mentor.

  • This research aims to review the training systems and curriculums of early childhood educators in Korea and France and seek directions to improve teachers training in Korea. To achieve the research purpose, this article compares three criteria, namely teacher training institutes, training systems, and curriculums based on the legal systems of Korea and France. Below are the summaries of the comparison. First, the training for teachers in France is carried out by the INSPÉ, the state-level single training system, for those who have bachelor's degrees. Second, the second year INSPÉ students or preliminary teachers take national teacher qualification tests. If they pass the tests, they are sent to the teaching fields as licensed teachers. Third, there are 3-year scholarship programs and support for practicums as part of the INSPÉ curriculum through the teacher support system in France to select highly qualified teachers. Fourth, the French curriculums prioritize basic knowledge skills, integration of school systems, teaching practicum experiences that are tied to the teaching fields, and research and analysis of practicum experiences.

Its data were collected from reviewing the relevant literature, interviews, surveys and web search. It was found that children's libraries were predominantly located in Seoul and Kyungki provinces. In comparison with other advanced countries, Korea had lower ratios of volumes of books and periodicals per the library user and of a number of staff per the user. It was also found that over a half number of playgrounds was placed in apartment areas. Since 1993, the long-term youth development plan has commenced the construction of various societal infrastructure such as local youth centers, counseling institutes, sex-culture centers and youth cultural zones. • The purpose of this study was to understand the structural relationships of the kindergarten teachers' role performance with the teaching efficacy and job stress. To achieve the research goal, this study conducted a survey targeting a total of 300 teachers, vice principals and principals working for infant educational institutes located in Gyeonggi-do, and analyzed 253 copies of the survey in total. The study used a structural equation to design a structural equation-based model to look into the structural relationships related to the role performance with the teaching efficacy and job stress. The collected data was then analyzed by AMOS 18.0 to estimate the correspondence and the parameter of the model. According to the results of the analysis, the role performance of kindergarten teachers was observed to have an immediate influence on the teaching efficacy. The role performance of kindergarten teachers was directly connected to job stress. The job stress had an indirect relationship with the role performance of kindergarten teachers through the teaching efficacy. The teaching efficacy of the kindergarten teachers was confirmed to have immediate association with the job stress of infant teachers.
