This study tries to develop model in order to assess personal factors of senior traffic accidents that are widely recognized as one of the social problems. For the current practice. it gathers data (Simulation & Questionnaire Survey) of KOTSA and conducts Poisson and Negative Binomial Regression Analysis to develop traffic accident severity model. The results show that elderly drivers' accidents are mainly affected by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction ability and attentiveness distribution ability in a positive(+) way. Second, non-senior drivers' accidents are also positively(+) influenced by attentiveness selection, velocity prediction, distance perception, attentiveness distribution ability and attentiveness diversion ability. Therefore, influencing factors of senior and non-senior drivers to vehicle accidents are different. This eventually poses a indication that preliminary education for car accident prevention should be implemented based up[n the distinction between senior drivers and non-senior drivers.

This paper analyzes the characteristics of drivers' workload observed from with 30 participant drivers with respect to two physio-physiological parameters. For investigating physio-physiological characteristics of road drivers, bio-signals from brain's occipital lobe between simulation experiment and real driving experiment are collected and analyzed. The major findings from the analysis are summarized as follows: First, the drivers' physio-physiological workload is a good parameter for explaining the workload characteristics of road drivers. Secondly, the two physio-physiological workload parameters selected, i.e., beta value and relative energy parameter, are revealed to be statistically significant. Thirdly, it is also revealed to be statistically significant to select 90 percentile measurements in simulator experiment to explain the road drivers' characteristics. Finally, the maximum workload of road design driver is 31.72 in beta parameter, whereas the minimum workload is 1.296 in relative energy parameter.
PURPOSE. This study aims to evaluate the loosening torque on the implant fixture, and to assess the accuracy of difference electronic torque drivers. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Three electronic torque drivers were used to measure the loosening torque on the implant system (AnyOne; MegaGen). The implant fixtures were divided among the 3 electronic torque driver types (W&H, SAESHIN, and NSK group) and 9 for each group. The screws were fastened at the implant fixture by three electronic torque drivers using the tightening torques recommended by the manufacturers of the drivers. After 10 minutes, the screws were again fastened at the implant fixture with equal torque. Then, the loosening torques were measured with an MGT12 torque gauge (MARK-10, Inc.). This measurement procedure was repeated 10 times under loosening torques of 15 Ncm, 25 Ncm, and 35 Ncm. In the statistical analysis, all values of loosening torque were analyzed with the one-way ANOVA and Kruskal-Wallis test (α=.05) for comparative evaluation. RESULTS. There were significant inter-group differences at loosening torques of 15 Ncm and 25 Ncm (P<.05). The accuracy of the NSK driver was the highest, followed by SAESHIN and W&H. There was no significant difference between NSK and W&H at 35 Ncm (P>.05). The SAESHIN driver showed the closest loosening torque at 35 Ncm. CONCLUSION. The most accurate loosening torques were SAESHIN at 35 Ncm, and NSK at 15 Ncm and 25 Ncm. Since the loosening torque may vary depending on the tightening torques and electronic torque drivers, periodic calibration of the electronic torque driver is recommended.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the association between emotional labor and job stress in bus drivers, as well as to propose management strategies for job stress. Methods: The study was conducted in February 2013 and involved 182 bus drivers working in the Gyeonggi area. Results: emotional labor was $9.5{\pm}2.34$ on average, and job stress was higher than the median of the same indicator among Korea's workers in the areas of physical environment, job autonomy, and relationship conflicts. Factors that affected job stress was lower if the subjects' Higher values for emotional labor indicated a higher level of job stress. Conclusion: To reduce among drivers, the following measures are necessary: increase the comfort of the driver's seat within the vehicle, provide adequate rest between bus headways, provide comfortable in-house rest facilities, and establish physical training spaces to reduce musculoskeletal disorders as well as programs for reducing back pain. In addition, relationship conflicts may be relieved by increasing job autonomy as much as possible, by granting autonomous control of working hours and bus headways, as well as by banning long work hours. Moreover, various club activities, exercise programs, and counseling programs that workers can be involved in together may be beneficial. This study is significant in that it identified the relationship of the bus drivers' emotional labor and job stress, which has previously been ignored as a research topic. Through its results, this study provides baseline data for the preparation of management strategies that can address the job stress of bus drivers.

The purpose of this study is to identify and analyze drivers' attitude related to usage of traffic information and traffic management service. A sample survey on Seohaeanseon Expressway(15), Gyeongbu Experssway(1), Youngdong Expressway(50) was conducted to analyze drivers' attitude ; sample size is 304 with 95% of confidence level and ${\pm}3.6%$ of sampling error. The analysis lists of drivers' attitude are usage of traffic information, awareness about information dissemination devices, and awareness about traffic control information related to LCS or RWIS. The results of this study is that drivers want pre-trip information, voice-based Hi-pass OBU, and fast incident management. According to the IPA, KEC's main consideration is a traffic flow improvement.

In spite of the efforts to reduce traffic accidents of commercial vehicles, the number of driving under the influence (DUI) of commercial drivers has been increasing. This study examines the effect of stress coping style of commercial drivers on driving behaviors. Specifically, this research aims to find the role of life stress as a mediator in the relationships between the stress coping style and problematic drinking behaviors. 1308 licensed commercial vehicle drivers participated in this research. Results showed that life stress mediated the relationships between problem focused strategies, wishful thinking strategies, passive avoidance strategies and problematic drinking behaviors. These findings indicate that educating drivers to change their stress coping styles would be helpful to inhibit them from being involved in drunken driving.

In this paper, we assessed muscular activities of lower limbs and foot pressure for car and bus drivers according to operating three electronic pedals that we developed. To analyze drivers' physical exhaustion, muscular fatigue of lower limbs was evaluated. Eleven car drivers and six urban bus drivers were participated in this experiment. The virtual driving system was used for the real driving environment. The virtual driving system was comprised of a spring seat, a steering wheel, pedals (clutch, excel and brake pedals), a manual transmission and a virtual driving simulation. For the real vibration like situation on the road, six degree of freedom motion base system was used. Measured muscles were rectus femoris (RF), biceps femoris (BF), tibialis anterior (TA) and gastrocnemius (Gn) muscles. For the quantitative muscular activities, integrated electromyography (IEMG) was analyzed. Muscular fatigues also were analyzed through the analysis of the median frequency. In addition, foot pressures were analyzed and compared through the peak and averaged pressure during the operating three developed electronic pedals. The experiments are conducted with total 17 drivers, 11 general public and 6 drivers. As a result of the analysis, electromyogram and fatigue analysis through intermediate frequency reduction for pedal-1 more efficient than other pedals. And foot pressure also was decreased. Consequently, we suggested the most efficient pedal and method to minimize the amount of cumulative fatigue.
The auditory information is used for urgent notification or warning in vehicle because it is not restricted by the direction compared to the visual. However, since the hearing impaired drivers cannot recognize sound signal, various methods of visualizing the auditory information have been attempted to replace it. When visualizing auditory information, only important information should be selected and provided to prevent cognitive overload concentrated on the vision. For this purpose, analysis of the type of auditory information in vehicle should be given in advance. In this study, the types of auditory information in vehicle were analyzed based on the user experience of hearing impaired drivers. Through the observation of the driving behavior of hearing impaired drivers, 33 auditory informations experienced in vehicle were collected. The collected auditory informations were classified into 12 groups through open card sorting by an expert group, and the types of auditory information in vehicle consisting of four levels were presented through a relative comparison of importance between groups. The presented type of auditory information in vehicle can be used as a guideline for selecting important information when the auditory information is converted into visual or tactile. This study is meaningful in that the user experience analysis was conducted by observing actual driving in daily life of hearing impaired drivers.
Road transportation accounts for the largest share of cargo transport in Korea. Inland transportation is not only the beginning and completion point of container transportation, but it is also very complex and has many workers. The main job of container drivers, who play a key role in inland logistics, is to transport containers from ports and terminals to destinations. However, in addition to the main role, various container management obligations, such as cleaning containers and managing damaged containers during the transportation process, are implicitly transferred to container drivers. However, little research has been conducted on this issue. This study identified the working environment of container drivers and empirically analyzed the current status of container management responsibilities by drivers. Furthermore, it analyzed whether there was a difference in the degree of container management requirements by shipping company, terminal, and shipper. Differences in requirements for region(Busan, Kwangyang, Pohang) were analyzed, and improvement measures for the problem of transferring container management were also presented.
This study examined how drivers of different cultural orientations(individualism vs. collectivism) attribute the cause(dispositional vs. situational) of four simulated driving situations which were varied in types(cutting-in and sudden-stop by the other driver) and differential emphasis on other the other driver's driving attitude or situational factor. The results showed the followings. First, the drivers generally showed higher attribution scores on the dispositional factor than the situational factor, except for the 'sudden-stop: situation emphasis' scenario condition. Second, when drivers' cultural orientation and attribution styles were considered together, it was found that, except for the 'cutting-in: disposition emphasis' scenario condition. the drivers of collectivism tended to attribute more to situational factor than the drivers of individualism, In contrast, the drivers of individualism showed higher attribution scores on dispositional factor than situational factor in all driving scenario conditions. Implication and suggestion were discussed.
