This paper proposes an input-series-output-parallel connected ZVS full bridge converter with interleaved control for photovoltaic power conditioning systems (PV PCS). The input-series connection enables a fully modular power-system architecture, where low voltage and standard power modules can be connected in any combination at the input and/or at the output, to realize any given specifications. Further, the input-series connection enables the use of low-voltage MOSFETs that are optimized for a very low RDSON, thus, resulting in lower conduction losses. The system costs decrease due to the reduced current, and the volumes of the output filters due to the interleaving technique. A topology for a photovoltaic (PV) dc/dc converter that can dramatically reduce the power rating and increase the efficiency of a PV system by analyzing the PV module characteristics is proposed. The control scheme, consisting of an output voltage loop, a current loop and input voltage balancing loops, is proposed to achieve input voltage sharing and output current sharing. The total PV system is implemented for a 10-kW PV power conditioning system (PCS). This system has a dc/dc converter with a 3.6-kW power rating. It is only one-third of the total PV PCS power. A 3.6-kW prototype PV dc/dc converter is introduced to experimentally verify the proposed topology. In addition, experimental results show that the proposed topology exhibits good performance.

The paper proposes a new multilevel variable output voltage AC/DC Converter for power supply of power amplifiers used in underwater acoustic sensors. The proposed multilevel variable output voltage AC/DC Converter is composed of two parts. One as the input section is the high efficiency phase-shifted PWM full bridge DC-DC converter to get multiport power sources. The other as the output section is composed of two flying-capacitor 3-level DC-DC converters and a diode bridge circuit to get fast-response and multilevel variable output voltage for an envelope amplifier. Also the paper suggests the detailed circuit topology and design guideline of multilevel variable output voltage AC/DC converter. It also proposes the power balanced control method between 3-level converters and the voltage balanced algorithm for flying capacitors. Its characteristics should be verified by the detailed simulation results. It is anticipated that the proposed converter will be used very well for power amplifiers used in underwater acoustic sensors.

The conventional single phase PFC converter can control DC voltage to steady standard value but control system is system is complex and expensive and has rapidity problems because of controlled by detecting DC voltage, AC voltage and current. In order to solve those problems, this paper proposes senseless PFC converter circuit. The proposed circuit can control the whole system by detecting AC voltage waveform And it directly controlled DC output voltage by the controlled voltage value Kd(Ed/Ea). The fluctuation ratio of DC output voltage is changed by the circuit characteristics These characteristics are confirmed by some experimental results.
Input-series-output-parallel (ISOP) converters consisting of multiple modular DC/DC converters can enable low voltage rating switches to be used under high voltage input applications. This paper presents a digital control strategy, which can achieve equal sharing of input voltage for a modular ISOP system consisting of two-transistor forward DC/DC converters by forcing the input voltages of neighboring modules to be equal. The proposed scheme is analyzed using small signals analysis based on the state space average method. The performance of the proposed control strategy is verified with an experimental prototype of an ISOP converter made up of three two-switch forward converters.
Recently, a fuel cell with low voltage and high current output characteristics is remarkable for new generation system. It needs both a DC-DC step-up converter and DC-AC inverter to be used in fuel cell generation system. Therefor, this paper, consists of an isolated DC-DC converter to boost the fuel cell voltage 380[VDC] and a PWM inverter with LC filter to convent the DC voltage to single-phase 220[VAC]. Expressly, a tapped inductor filter with freewheeling diode is newly implemented in the output filter of the proposed high frequency isolated ZVZCS PWM DC-DC converter to suppress circulating current under the wide output voltage regulation range, thus to eliminate the switching and transformer turn-on/off over-short voltage or transient phenomena. Besides the efficiency of 93-97[%] is obtained over the wide output voltage regulation ranges and load variations.

It is very important to maintain the balanced output voltage waveforms under the unbalanced DC-link voltages in the four-switch three-phase inverter(FSTPI). In this paper, the improvement of output voltage waveforms is proposed with the aid of DC-link voltage ripple estimation. The proposed method can be implemented without the additional voltage sensor. The proposed method applied to the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is simulated and experimented in order to verify its feasibility.

The design feasibility of a micro unidirectional DC transmission system based on an input-parallel output-parallel (IPOP) converter is analyzed in this paper. The system consists of two subsystems: an input-parallel output-series (IPOS) subsystem to step up the DC link voltage, and an input-series output-parallel (ISOP) subsystem to step down the output voltage. The two systems are connected through a transmission line. The challenge of the delay caused by the communication in the control system is addressed by introducing a ring communication structure, and its influence on the control system is analyzed to ensure the feasibility and required performance of the converter system under practical circumstances. Simulation and experiment results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed design.

In space qualified DC-DC converters, optimization of the following electrical characteristics is of greater interest in comparison with other specifications; power loss/efficiency, output voltage ripple and volume/weight. The main goal of this paper is to present an appropriate solution for optimizing the above mentioned characteristics. For this purpose, a comprehensive power loss model of a DC-DC converter is fully developed. Proper models are also demonstrated for assessment of the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume as the bulkiest component in a DC-DC converter. In order to provide a test bed for evaluation of the proposed models, a 50W push-pull DC-DC converter is designed and implemented. Finally, a novel cost function with three assigned weight functions is proposed in order to have a trade-off among the power loss, the output voltage ripple and the utilized transformer volume of the converter. The cost function is optimized for applications in which volume has the highest priority in comparison with power loss and ripple. The optimization results show that the transformer volume can be decreased by up to 51% and this result is verified by experimental results. The developed models and algorithms in this paper can be used for other DC-DC converter topologies with some minor modifications.

Recently, with the growth of photovoltaic system, many researchers and companies have concerned about the multi-level inverter which has an efficiency of boosting voltage. In this paper a novel structure of multi-level converter for reducing ripple of output voltage is proposed. In the proposed converter Buck converters are connected in series to generate the output voltage and the ripple of output voltage can be reduced compared with the exiting Buck converter. Especially when outputting lower output voltage the number of acting switching elements is less and the result of ripple reducing is more obvious. This paper implements a multi-level switching function based on the FPGA.
This paper describes a DC voltage controller for the DC power supply which is constructed using the full-bridged MOS-FET DC-to-RF power inverter and rectifier. The full-bridged MOS-FET DC-to-RF inverter consisting of four MOSFET arrays and an output power transformer has a control function which is able to control the RF output power when the widths of the pulse voltages which are fed to four MOS-FET arrays of the fall-bridged inverter are changed using the pulse width control circuit. The power conversion efficiency of the full-bridged MOS-FET DC-to-RF power inverter was approximately 85 % when the duty cycles of the pulse voltages were changed from 30 % to 50 %. The RF output voltage from the full-bridged MOS-FET DC-to-RF inverter is fed to the rectifier circuit through the output transformer. The rectifier circuit consists of GaAs schottky diodes and filters, each of which is made of a coil and capacitors. The power conversion efficiency of the rectifier circuit was over 80 % when the duty cycles of the pulse voltages were changed from 30 % to 50 %. The output voltage of the rectifier circuit was changed from 34.7V to 37.6 V when the duty cycles of the pulse voltages were changed from 30 % to 50 %.
