공과대학생의 창의공학설계능력 교육요구도 분석 (An Analysis on Educational Needs of Creative Engineering Design Ability of Engineering Students)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and implement engineering education program by drawing out the educational needs creative engineering design ability. The importance and current level of creative engineering ability were surveyed and analyzed by using 29 sub - factors of creative engineering design ability presented by Kim Dae young et al(2006). from 234 engineering students in 6 universities. As a result, students recognized that all items of creative engineering design ability were important, and their level was generally recognized. The educational needs for creative ability and creative problem solving ability was high and the educational needs for creative engineering design project was relatively low. Based on these results, it is necessary to develop an educational program to enhance creative engineering design ability by considering learner's perception and professional and industrial recognition.

일반계고의 창의공학설계 수업을 위한 아두이노 기반 STEAM 수업자료 개발과 적용 (Development of STEAM Instructional Materials using Arduino for Creative Engineering Design Class in High Schools and Its Application)

  • The purpose of the study was to develop the Arduino based STEAM instruction materials for creative engineering design class. PDIE model was used in this study. We developed a STEAM lesson plan and a STEAM lesson worksheet for a total of six sessions through the steps of preparation, development, implementation and evaluation. The validity of the instruction materials was evaluated by the 10 experts using a survey. The instruction materials were applied to the class (52 students attended) of the creative engineering designs unit in technology and home economics subject. The class satisfaction and the creative solving-problem ability were examined after the calss. The class satafacition was high as the average of 10 item was 4.57 (out of 5). The paired t-test was conducted to compare the means of the creative solving-problem ability. It was observed that 'understanding and mastery of knowledge, thought, function and skills in a specific domain', 'divergent thinking', 'critical and logical thinking' and ' motivational factors' were significantly increased after the class. The instruction materials develped in this study were successfully designed to enhance the creative solving-problem ability by designing creative tasks and to intrique the interest by adding visual and auditory stimuli with the Arduino.

비판(-창의)적 사고의 문제 해결 과정과 기량을 활용한 창의 공학 설계 교육 (Creative Engineering Design Education Utilizing the Problem-solving Process and Skills of Critico(-Creative) Thinking)

  • ABEEK recommends convergent engineering projects to nurture creative problem-solving ability for 1st year engineering students through 'Creative Engineering Design' course. However, 1st year engineering students, who have not yet studied core subjects in engineering, have difficulties understanding and coping with the challenges posed by the engineering-related projects. For this reason, the educational objectives of this course are usually frustrating to achieve by the instructor. In this paper, by using the problem-solving process and skills of critico(-creative) thinking, we prepare guidelines for creative engineering design education that allow 1st-year students to effectively participate in engineering projects without a complete understanding of the design process which is to be studied. Also, we present a case study that applies the guidelines to an on-going creative engineering design course and discusses the outcomes by showing student-generated works. The results showed that the intuitive content and everyday expression of critico(-creative) thinking education enabled the instructor to effectively guide their students through the requirements of engineering projects without relying on advanced engineering design methods, and that the application of these guidelines also helped improve students' communication skills, including presentation. We show that the guidelines for creative engineering design education utilizing the problem-solving process and skills of critico(-creative) thinking is not only contributing to achieving the educational objectives of the creative engineering design course but can also be an educational paradigm that incorporates critico(-creative) thinking education into engineering education.

  • 졸업 연구작품 제작에 참여한 학생들과 참여하지 않은 학생들에게서 인식되는 창의적 능력, 창의적 성격, 창의적 리더십 및 융합적 사고와 관련된 역량을 파악하였다. 창의적 능력에서는 참여 학과 학생들에게서 다양한 전공 분야의 이해를 통한 아이디어 창출에 대한 부분의 교육에 더 많은 교육과정과 비교과 활동의 운영이 필요하나 전체적으로는 비참여 학생보다는 높은 긍정적 결과를 얻었다. 창의적 리더십 및 융합적 사고에서는 종합설계와 졸업작품을 진행한 학생이 더 긍정적인 면을 보여주었으며 미참여 학과 학생들은 고등사고, 복잡한 현상의 논리적 분석 및 전체적 파악 등에서 창의적 역량이 부족함을 나타내었다.

  • 복합.융합화 능력을 겸비한 인재를 양성해야 하는 시대적 요구에 부응하여 공학자의 창의적 문제해결 능력 함양은 공학교육의 중요한 새로운 교육목표이다. 이 연구는 공학교육에 있어 실험계획 및 분석을 고려한 교육과정이 창의적 문제해결 능력을 뒷받침 할 수 있는 중요한 요소임을 지적하고 이것을 효과적으로 도입할 수 있는 교육과정의 설계에 그 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위하여, 먼저 실험계획 및 분석의 교육주제에서 기대되는 학습 성과와 공학자의 기본적인 공학능력과의 연관성을 알아보았다. 그리고 전통적으로 산업에서 큰 비중을 차지하고 있는 기계공학계열학과의 현재 공학 교육과정에서 운영중인 실험계획 및 분석의 교육내용에 대한 현황을 조사하였고, 또한 해당 공학 전문가들의 주요 활동분야들 중의 하나인 연구논문의 작성에서 나타난 실험계획 및 분석에 관련된 지식의 활용 실태를 분석하였다. 마지막으로, 이러한 실증적 사례를 근거로 공학자의 기본 자질인 창의적 문제해결 능력 향상을 위한 하나의 수단으로서 효과적인 실험계획 및 분석의 교과를 도입한 공학교육 과정의 모듈을 개발하였다.

Suggestion of Teaching-Learning Methods to Cultivate Creative Design Capacities

  • This study suggests a teaching-learning method to improve creative design abilities of students majoring in design. By suggesting a creative design-inducing (CDI) teaching-learning method process and a creative design-inducing (CDI) teaching-learning method, this study aims to expand creative thinking among students with the aim of producing produce creative output as well as improving the effectiveness of design teaching. It also presents a case of the teaching-learning method in a design-related department, the process of teaching where the new method is applied is also examined. The teaching method this study suggests has the following merits: First, it allows the teacher to use various tools depending on the creative thinking abilities of individuals. By providing students with custom-made teaching, the method motivates and focuses students during the lesson. Second, it is easier for students to generate creative ideas than with other teaching methods.

대학생의 우주 교육을 위한 라즈베리 파이 기반 캔위성 수업자료 개발과 적용 (Development of CanSat Instruction Materials using Raspberry Pi for Space Education in University and Its Application)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop Raspberry Pi-based CanSat instruction materials for liberal arts classes to be used in university space education. The educational satellite simulation program is developed by applying the ADDIE program consisting of analysis, design, development, execution, and evaluation of 15 lessons per semester. The usefulness of the instruction materials is evaluated by a validity test of a total of 6 experts. The proposed materials are applied to 100 college students from various majors. To analyze the impact on creative problem-solving ability, a questionnaire is conducted before and after class, and as a result, it is confirmed that there is a significant improvement in all areas after class. The class satisfaction survey is conducted for a total of 10 questions, and the average score is 4.41 out of 5, which is high. In conclusion, the proposed instruction materials make it possible to achieve successful space education using Raspberry Pi and improve creative problem-solving ability in universities.

비전공자를 위한 알고리즘씽킹 기반 소프트웨어 기초교육 설계 (Design of Algorithm Thinking-Based Software Basic Education for Nonmajors)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to design the curriculum of Basic College Software Programming to develop creative and logical-thinking. This course is guided by algorithmic thinking and logical thinking that can be solved by computing for problem-solving, and it helps to develop by software through basic programming education. Through the stage of problem analysis, abstraction, algorithm, data structure, and algorithm implementation, the curriculum is designed to help learners experience algorithm problem-solving in various areas to develop diffusion thinking. For Learners aim to achieve the balanced development of divergent and convergent-thinking needed in their creative problem-solving skills. Research design, data and methodology: This study is to design a basic software education for improving algorithm-thinking for non-major. The curriculum designed in this paper is necessary to non-majors students who have completed the 'Creative Thinking and Coding Course' Design Thinking based are targeted. For this, contents were extracted through advanced research analysis at home and abroad, and experts in computer education, computer engineering, SW education, and education were surveyed in the form of quasi-openness. Results: In this study, based on ADD Thinking's algorithm thinking, we divided the unit college majors into five groups so that students of each major could accomplish the goal of "the ability to internalize their own ideas into computing," and extracted and designed different content areas, content elements and sub-components from each group. Through three expert surveys, we established a strategy for characterization by demand analysis and major/textbook category and verified the appropriateness of the design direction to ensure that the subjects and contents of the curriculum are appropriate for each family in order to improve algorithm-thinking. Conclusions: This study helps develop software by enhancing the ability of students who practice various subjects and exercises to explore creative expressions in various areas, such as 'how to think like a computer' that can implement and execute their ideas in computing. And it helps increase the ability to think logical and algorithmic computing based on creative solutions, improving problem-solving ability based on computing thinking and fundamental understanding of computer coding and development of logical thinking ability through programming.

산업기술계열 융합형 학과 운영 체제의 구축에 대한 연구 (Study on Courses Integration of Industrial Technology Departments)

  • The purpose of this paper is to construct the interfaced and interdisciplinary curriculum among departments of the industrial technology for enhancing an engineer's creative problem-solving ability and reflecting the industrial demands. This ability is one of the important objectives in modern engineering education. To achieve this purpose the research is performed as followings : (1) the curriculums of the departments of the industrial technology are surveyed and reviewed, and then (2) the relationship with the curriculums of the three departments of the industrial technology are analysed. (3) With this results the interfaced and interdisciplinary curriculums are constructed. (4) The integrated engineering education curriculum to enhance effectively the engineer's creative problem-solving ability and reflect the industrial demands is suggested.

  • Korean elementary school facilities are a lot of changes since the mid-1990s. Creative learning ability to become more important. Interior space environment and the hardware changes needed improvement. In this study, depending on the teaching methods and curriculum characteristics to suggest design guidelines for a more effective lesson plan by changing the terran out. Open education free to enhance the development and creativity of the human spirit, the human, and realize the value of education is to increase the relevance of education for self-realization and social. Space for open educational practices through advanced layout is proposed. There is a need for the development of new school furniture for a variety of lay-out. It is important to develop a spatial variability in new school furniture.
