  • In this paper a methodology is developed to solve a nonlinear fractional programming problem, whose objective function and constraints are interval valued functions. Interval valued convex fractional programming problem is studied. This model is transformed to a general convex programming problem and relation between the original problem and the transformed problem is established. These theoretical developments are illustrated through a numerical example.

  • This paper proposes a method to select the overshoot design parameters of the LQ-PID controller by using convex optimization in order to satisfy the design specifications. The tuning parameters of LQ-PID controller are determinated by the relationships between the design parameter to control both the overshoot and the settling time and the weighting factors Q and R in LQR.

  • In this paper our aim is to establish some geometric properties (like starlikeness, convexity and close-to-convexity) for the generalized and normalized Dini functions. In order to prove our main results, we use some inequalities for ratio of these functions in normalized form and classical result of Fejer.

  • The purpose of this paper is to introduce and study certain subclasses of analytic functions by using Ruscheweyh derivative operator. We discuss various of interesting properties such as, necessary condition, arc length problem and growth rate of coefficient of newly defined class. Also rate of growth of Hankel determinant will be estimated.

  • The layup optimization by genetic algorithm (GA) for the strength of laminated composites with free-edge is presented. For the calculation of interlaminar stresses of composite laminates with free edges, extended Kantorovich method is applied. In the formulation of GA, repair strategy is adopted for the satisfaction of given constraints. In order to consider the bounded uncertainty of material properties, convex modeling is used. Results of GA optimization with scattered properties are compared with those of optimization with nominal properties. The GA combined with convex modeling can work as a practical tool for light weight design of laminated composite structures since uncertainties are always encountered in composite materials.

  • Let $CS_\alpha(\beta)$ denote the class of normalized strongly $\alpha$-close-to-convex functions of order $\beta$, defined in the open unit disk $\cal{U}$ of $\mathbb{C}$${\mid}arg{(1-{\alpha})\frac{f(z)}{g(z)}+{\alpha}\frac{zf'(z)}{g(z)}}{\mid}\;\leq\frac{\pi}{2}{\beta}(\alpha,\beta\geq0)$ such that $g\; \in\;S^{\ask}$, the class of normalized starlike unctions. In this paper, we obtain the sharp Fekete-Szego inequalities for functions belonging to $CS_\alpha(\beta)$.

  • This paper examined the applicability of convex hull, which is defined as the minimal convex polygon including all points, to assessment model for effective region. In order to validate the applicability of the convex hull to assessment model for effective region, a genetic algorithm was adopted as a optimum technique, and an artificial neural network was adopted as a prediction model for material properties. The mix-proportion obtained from the proposed technique is more reasonable than that obtained from previous work.
