  • In this paper, we solve the following quadratic $\rho$-functional inequalities ${\parallel}f(\frac{x+y+z}{2})+f(\frac{x-y-z}{2})+f(\frac{y-x-z}{2})+f(\frac{z-x-y}{2})-f(x)-x(y)-f(z){\parallel}\;(0.1)\\{\leq}{\parallel}{\rho}(f(x+y+z+)+f(x-y-z)+f(y-x-z)+f(z-x-y)-4f(x)-4f(y)-f(z)){\parallel}$ where $\rho$ is a fixed complex number with ${\left|\rho\right|}<\frac{1}{8}$, and ${\parallel}f(x+y+z)+f(x-y-z)+f(y-x-z)+f(z-x-y)-4f(x)-4f(y)-4f(z){\parallel}\;(0.2)\\{\leq}{\parallel}{\rho}(f(\frac{x+y+z}{2})+f(\frac{x-y-z}{2})+f(\frac{y-x-z}{2})+f(\frac{z-x-y}{2})-f(x)-f(y)-f(z)){\parallel}$ where $\rho$ is a fixed complex number with ${\left|\rho\right|}$ < 4. Using the fixed point method, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the quadratic $\rho$-functional inequalities (0.1) and (0.2) in complex Banach spaces.

  • For compact Hausdorff spaces X and Y let C(X) and C(Y) denote the complex Banach spaces of complex valued continuous functions on X and Y, respectively. Also let $T:C(X){\rightarrow}C(Y)$ be a linear isomerty. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given such that range of T has finite codimension.

  • In this paper, we first adapt Runge's Theorem to work on certain domains in any complex Banach space. Then, using this result, we extend Birkhoff's Theorem on the hypercyclicity of translations on $H(\mathbb{C})$ and Costakis' and Sambarino's result on the existence of common hypercyclic functions for uncountable families of translations on $H(\mathbb{C})$ to subs paces of $H_b(E)$ (in some cases all of $H_{b}$(E)), E being in a large class of Banach spaces.

  • Let $p{\geq}1$ be a real number. A tuple $T=(T_1,{\ldots},T_n)$ of commuting bounded linear operators on a Banach space X is called an ${\ell}^p$-spherical isometry if ${\sum_{i=1}^{n}}{\parallel}T_ix{\parallel}^p={\parallel}x{\parallel}^p$ for all $x{\in}X$. The tuple T is called a toral isometry if each Ti is an isometry. By a result of Ansari, Hedayatian, Khani-Robati and Moradi, for every $n{\geq}1$, there is a supercyclic ${\ell}^2$-spherical isometric n-tuple on ${\mathbb{C}}^n$ but there is no supercyclic ${\ell}^2$-spherical isometry on an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space. In this article, we investigate the supercyclicity of ${\ell}^p$-spherical isometries and toral isometries on Banach spaces. Also, we introduce the notion of semicommutative tuples and we show that the Banach spaces ${\ell}^p$ ($1{\leq}p$ < ${\infty}$) support supercyclic ${\ell}^p$-spherical isometric semi-commutative tuples. As a result, all separable infinite-dimensional complex Hilbert spaces support supercyclic spherical isometric semi-commutative tuples.

  • In this paper, we first introduce new classes of Lipschitz algebras of infinitely differentiable functions which are extensions of the standard Lipschitz algebras of infinitely differentiable functions. Then we determine the maximal ideal space of these extended algebras. Finally, we show that if X and K are uniformly regular subsets in the complex plane, then R(X, K) is natural.

  • Let K be a compact Hausdorff space, $\mathfrak{A}$ a commutative complex Banach algebra with identity and $\mathfrak{C}(\mathfrak{A})$ the set of characters of $\mathfrak{A}$. In this note, we study the class of functions $f:K{\rightarrow}\mathfrak{A}$ such that ${\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}{\circ}f$ is continuous, where ${\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}$ denotes the Gelfand representation of $\mathfrak{A}$. The inclusion relations between this class, the class of continuous functions, the class of bounded functions and the class of weakly continuous functions relative to the weak topology ${\sigma}(\mathfrak{A},\mathfrak{C}(\mathfrak{A}))$, are discussed. We also provide some results on its completeness under the norm defined by ${\mid}{\parallel}f{\parallel}{\mid}={\parallel}{\Omega}_{\mathfrak{A}}{\circ}f{\parallel}_{\infty}$.

  • For a locally compact Hausdorff space, we denote by $C_0(X)$ the Banach space of all continuous complex valued functions defined on X which vanish at infinity, equipped with the usual sup norm. In case X is compact, we write C(X) instead of $C_0(X)$. A well-known Banach-Stone theorem states that the existence of an isometry between the function spaces $C_0(X)$ and $C_0(Y)$ implies X and Y are homemorphic. D. Amir [1] and M. Cambern [2] independently generalized this theorem by proving that if $C_0(X)$ and $C_0(Y)$ are isomorphic under an isomorphism T satisfying $\left\$\mid$ T \right\$\mid$ \left\$\mid$ T^1 \right\$\mid$ < 2$, then X and Y must also be homeomorphic.

  • Let $\mathcal{B}$ be a certain Banach space consisting of analytic functions defined on a bounded domain G in the complex plane. Let ${\varphi}$ be an analytic polynomial or a rational function and let $M_{\varphi}$ denote the operator of multiplication by ${\varphi}$. Under certain condition on ${\varphi}$ and G, we characterize the commutant of $M_{\varphi}$ that is the set of all bounded operators T such that $TM_{\varphi}=M_{\varphi}T$. We show that $T=M_{\Psi}$, for some function ${\Psi}$ in $\mathcal{B}$.

  • A bounded linear operator T on a separable infinite dimensional Banach space X is called strongly hypercyclic if $$X{\backslash}\{0\}{\subseteq}{\bigcup_{n=0}^{\infty}}T^n(U)$$ for all nonempty open sets U ⊆ X. We show that if T is strongly hypercyclic, then so are Tn and cT for every n ≥ 2 and each unimodular complex number c. These results are similar to the well known Ansari and León-Müller theorems for hypercyclic operators. We give some results concerning multiplication operators and weighted composition operators. We also present a result about the invariant subset problem.
