프로젝터 회로 소음 및 진동 저감의 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Noise and Vibration reduction of Projector Driving Board)

  • This paper deals with noise reduction on a light source driving board in a projector. We analyze causes of noise/vibration in the circuit with the present increasing use of LD and LED driving boards. The main source of noise is the MLCC in the driving board. Our aim is to investigate how the mechanical arrangement of the circuit elements affects noise reduction. The result of our experiment shows that noise can be reduced by symmetrical arrangement and slots in PCB. This result is expected to facilitate a variety of applications for manufactures without a need to change circuit elements.

A 900 MHz VCO Having 7-dB Phase Noise Improvement at 100 kHz Offset

  • In this paper, the phase noise of 900 MHz VCO is improved using modified strip line square ring resonator. In order to demonstrate the phase noise improvement of the proposed VCO, the same circuit was manufactured using shorted-circuit resonator. In condition of the same bias current, the phase noise of the proposed VCO with modified square ring resonator is suppressed by 7 dB as - 103 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset compared to the conventional VCO with short-circuit resonator. From the proposed VCO, we achieved output power of - 4.8 dBm, harmonics suppression of 16 dB, and tuning bandwidth of 100 MHz. The proposed VCO consumed 5 mA at 3 V, and its size is 1.2 cm ${\times}$ 1.0 cm.

  • This paper investigates the reduction of RE(Radiated Emission) noise in a high power LED module circuit using PWM(Pulse Width Module) switching controller circuit. Poorly designed LED lighting module can experience the RE and CE(Conducted Emission) noise problem. This paper propose the reduction of noise source and improvement of EMI filter design in a high power LED lighting module. The experimental and simulation results showed that reduce the RE noise level effectively.

간접접촉 심전도 측정에서의 오른발구동 접지의 효과와 한계 (The Effect and the Limitation of Driven-right-leg Ground on Indirect-contact ECG measurement)

  • This study reviews the common-mode noise model of indirect-contact ECG measurement which uses capacitive electrode and capacitive ground, and shows the reason of the large common-mode noise in indirect-contact ECG. And then, this study shows driven-right-leg ground in indirect-contact ECG measurement, and reviews how the driven-right-leg ground reduces the common-mode noise. This study then analyzes the relation between the effective area of the indirect-contact ground and the gain of the driven-right-leg circuit. This study introduces the output voltage saturation of the driven-right-leg circuit, which occurs frequently in indirect-contact ECG measurement with the condition of the high ground impedance. This study then shows the effect of the driven-right-leg circuit saturation on the common-mode noise.

  • In this paper, study noise performance of LNA to enhance Q-factor of input circuit by patterned ground shield is inserted inductor using TSMC 0.18um. Applied LNA technology is cascode method. The input matching circuit was constituted on-chip and wirebonding inductor. Taguchi's method is used for the best suited structure of PGS. We confirmed enhancement of Q-factor by inserted PGS into inductor. The input matching circuit enhanced Q-factor by inductor with PGS improve noise figure of LNA.

  • 본 논문에서는 시스템 온 칩 (SoC, System-on-Chip) 트랜시버에 적용이 가능하며. 저잡음 증폭기(LNA, Low Noise Amplifier)를 위한 자동 보상 회로 (ACC, automatic compensation circuit)를 제안한다. 개발된 회로는 고주파 내부 자체 검사 (BIST, Built-In Self-Test) 회로, 커패시터 미러 뱅크 (CMB, Capacitor Mirror Banks)와 디지털 처리장치로 구성되어 있다. 자동 보상 회로는 LNA가 정상 동작을 하지 않을 때 SoC 트랜시버의 구성요소인 디지털 프로세서를 이용하여 LNA가 정상 동작을 하도록 자동적으로 조정하는 역할을 한다.

Wide Voltage Input Receiver with Hysteresis Characteristic to Reduce Input Signal Noise Effect

  • In this paper, an input receiver with a hysteresis characteristic that can work at voltage levels between 0.9 V and 5 V is proposed. The input receiver can be used as a wide voltage range Schmitt trigger also. At the same time, reliable circuit operation is ensured. According to the research findings, this is the first time a wide voltage range Schmitt trigger is being reported. The proposed circuit is compared with previously reported input receivers, and it is shown that the circuit has better noise immunity. The proposed input receiver ends the need for a separate Schmitt trigger and input buffer. The frequency of operation is also higher than that of the previously reported receiver. The circuit is simulated using HSPICE at 0.35-${\mu}m$ standard thin oxide technology. Monte Carlo analysis is conducted at different process conditions, showing that the proposed circuit works well for different process conditions at different voltage levels of operation. A noise impulse of ($V_{CC}/2$) magnitude is added to the input voltage to show that the receiver receives the correct logic level even in the presence of noise. Here, $V_{CC}$ is the fixed voltage supply of 3.3 V.

  • 본 논문에서는 저잡음 증폭기 (Low Noise Amplifier, LNA)를 위한 프로그램 가능한 RF (고주파) BIST (Built-In Self-Test) 회로를 제안한다. 개발된 BIST 회로는 온 칩 형태로 DC 측정만을 이용하여 LNA의 RF 변수들을 측정할 수 있다. BIST 회로는 프로그램 가능한 커패시터 뱅크 (programmable capacitor banks)를 가진 test amplifier와 RF 피크 검출기로 구성되어 있다. 이러한 온 칩 회로는 각각 GSM, Bluetooth 및 IEEE802.11g의 응용을 위해 세 가지 주파수 대, 즉 1.8GHz, 2.4GHz 및 5GHz에서 사용할 수 있도록 프로그램 되어있고, LNA가 가지는 RF 사양들, 즉 입력 임피던스 및 전압이득 등을 DC 전압으로 변화시켜주는 역할을 한다.

  • It is analyzed how performance of phase-locked loop driven by photodetector current in optical receiver will be changed under the condition that Gaussian thermal noise, pattern noise and shot noise are present and the loop has the nonzero detuning frequency. The phase error variance cahnges with the circuit configuration and the produced noise models. The analyzed results are applied to the previously implemented 90.194Mbps optic system whose loop filter is the improved active noninverting 1-st order lag-lead type.

  • A noise simulation software is developed to estimate crosstalk and reflection noise in multi-layer printed circuit boards having upto 20 layers and carrying signals of 100 MHz range. The simulation software can handle up to 1000 nets yielding accurate noise value associated with each net. The calculation results can be used to build optimal printed citcuit boards used in high speed computers and telecommunication equipments.
