Korean marks case for subjects and objects, but it is well known that case-markers can be dropped in certain contexts. Kwon and Zribi-Hertz (2008) establishes the phenomenon of Korean case drop on a single factor of f(ocus)-structure visibility and claims that both subject and object case drop can fall under a single linguistic generalization of information structure. However, the supporting data is not empirically substantiated and the tenability of the f-structure analysis is still under question. In this paper, an experiment was conducted to show that the specific claims of Kwon and Zribi-Hertz's analysis that places exclusive importance on information structure cannot be adequately supported by empirical evidence. In addition, the present study examines H. Lee's (2006a, 2006c) multi-factor analysis of object case drop and investigates whether this approach can subsume both subject and object case drop under a unified analysis. The present findings indicate that the multi-factor analysis that involves the interaction of independent factors (Focus, Animacy, and Definiteness) is also compatible with subject case drop, and that judgments on case drop are not categorical but form gradient statistical preferences.

In this paper, we compute the Hankel matrix representation of the Hankel operator on the Hardy space of a general bounded domain with respect to special orthonormal bases for the Hardy space and its orthogonal complement. Moreover we obtain the compact form of the Hankel matrix for the unit disc case with respect to these bases. One can see that the Hankel matrix generated by this computation turns out to be a generalization of the case of the unit disc from the single simply connected domain to multiply connected domains with much diversities of bases.

To construct user profiles automatically, an extraction method for representative keywords from a set of documents is needed. In our previous works, we suggested such a method and showed its usefulness. Here, we apply it to the classification problem and observe how much it contributes to performance improvement. The method can be used as a linear document classifier with few modifications. So, we first evaluate its performance for that case. The method is also applicable to some non-linear classification methods such as GIS (Generalized Instance Set). In GIS algorithm, generalized instances are built from training documents by a generalization function and then the K-NN algorithm is applied to them, where the method can be used as a generalization function. For comparative works, two famous linear classification methods, Rocchio and Widrow-Hoff algorithms, are also used. Experimental results show that our method is better than the others for the case that only positive documents are considered, but not when negative documents are considered together.

이 연구는 일반화라는 대수적 사고 요소에 초점을 맞추어 대수적 상황으로 문제 해결이 가능하도록 구성하여 제시한 특정 과제에서 초등수학영재들이 보여주는 대수적 일반화 사고 과정을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 초등수학영재들은 자신의 생각을 문자식으로 표현하고 문자 언어를 활용하여 답안을 표현하는 데 어려움을 겪지는 않았기에 표를 통한 수치의 귀납적인 규칙을 찾기보다 다이어그램이나 관계식을 사용한 포괄적인 예를 통해 보다 일반적인 구조를 파악하려는 경향을 가지고 있었다. 그러나 잘 구조화된 스키마를 가진 아동이라도 개인적 특성에 따라서는 자신이 일반화한 결과를 특수한 경우에 적용시킴 봄으로써 자신의 결과를 검증하는 경향이 있음을 확인하였고, 이변수 일반화 과제의 경우는 비록 일반적 패턴을 추정할 수는 있을지라도 그것을 정당화하는 과정에서는 어려움을 겪고 있음도 확인하였다. 그리고 이를 바탕으로 한 수학영재교육에의 몇 가지 시사점을 논의하였다.

패턴을 대수적으로 일반화한다는 것은 몇 가지의 특정한 요소에 내재한 구조를 인식 할 수 있고, 그 구조를 모든 경우로 일반화해 나갈 수 있으며, 일반적인 것을 대수적으로 표현하기 위해 인식된 그 국소적인 구조를 사용할 수 있는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 학생들이 기하-산술적 패턴과제로부터 매개변수를 어떻게 대수적으로 일반화하는지와 그 과정에서 일어나는 어려움은 무엇인지를 확인하는 것에 목표를 둔다. 더불어, 본 연구진이 개발한 패턴 일반화 과제를 통해 학생들이 매개변수개념에 대해 의미 충실한 사용으로 나아갈 수 있는지를 확인한다. 연구 결과 학생들은 변수로 작용하는 문자 n과 구별되는 역할로 작용하는 매개변수의 의미를 인식하여, 이로부터 문자 n과 다른 문자를 설정했다. 또한, 몇 가지의 일차함수로부터 독립변수를 나타내는 문자 n과 독립적인 수 사이의 관계를 인식하였고 이를 나머지 다른 모든 경우로 일반화하여 매개변수로 설정한 문자를 이용하여 대수적으로 표현하였다. 이 과정에서 학생들에게 매개변수와 다른 변수사이에 구별의 어려움과 산술적인 절차를 대수로 이행하는 어려움이 확인되었다. 이러한 어려움을 교수자와 함께 극복해 나가는 과정에서 전형적인 예는 매개변수 개념에 대한 학생들의 의미 충실한 사용을 견인하는 역할을 제공하였다.

In this paper, we investigate a generalization of the Adams-Bashforth method by using the Taylor's series. In case of m-step method, the local truncation error can be expressed in terms of m - 1 coefficients. With an appropriate choice of coefficients, the proposed method has produced much smaller error than the original Adams-Bashforth method. As an application of the generalized Adams-Bashforth method, the accuracy performance is demonstrated in the satellite orbit prediction problem. This implies that the generalized Adams-Bashforth method is applied to the orbit prediction of a low-altitude satellite. This numerical example shows that the prediction of the satellite trajectories is improved one order of magnitude.

For a ring endomorphism $\alpha$ and an $\alpha$-derivation $\delta$, we introduce ($\alpha$, $\delta$)-skew Armendariz rings which are a generalization of $\alpha$-rigid rings and Armendariz rings, and investigate their properties. A semi prime left Goldie ring is $\alpha$-weak Armendariz if and only if it is $\alpha$-rigid. Moreover, we study on the relationship between the Baerness and p.p. property of a ring R and these of the skew polynomial ring R[x; $\alpha$, $\delta$] in case R is ($\alpha$, $\delta$)-skew Armendariz. As a consequence we obtain a generalization of [11], [14] and [16].

In this article, we present the Stancu generalization of (p, q)-$Sz{\acute{a}}sz$-Mirakyan Kantorovich type linear positive operators. Using Korovkin's result, approximation properties are investigated. First, we evaluate moments and direct results. By choosing p and q, the convergence rate have been estimated for better approximation. For the particular case ${\alpha}=0$, ${\beta}=0$ we obtain results for (p, q)-$Sz{\acute{a}}sz$-Mirakyan Kantorovich type operators.

This paper proposed a systematic analysis for slotted ALOHA with capture effect. This is a generalization for slotted ALOHA system. Based on this model, we can increase the maximum through-put of slotted ALOHA system with two power levels. Lee's algorithm is consider to be an extension of ALOHA system with capture effect. In this paper, we showed that, the choice of Lee's algorithm is not an optimum one. Based on the previous experimental results, we proposed here a more practical analysis for slotted ALOHA system. The result is very accurate and can be applied to other wireless systems which also employed capture effect.

In this practical case study I studied the launching process of Samgak gimbab(the triangle type of rice), which is one if the best selling products to the young generation convenience store these days. And also explained how to down the cost of samgak gimbab to the level of customer's satisfaction. This case is related to 'S' company's strategy. I studied also the generalization of marketing policy especially product development in th convenience store.
