  • The change in the management environment of the logistics industry in the era of global competition is becoming an era in which customers choose companies. Differentiation from competitors through the provision of products and services suitable for customers As customers' choices change depending on their superiority, companies are constantly striving to receive or retain customers' choices. Ultimately, this competitive structure can be seen as the importance of long-term relationship building. Therefore, in this study, we examined how factors related to transaction characteristics performed by logistics companies for customer satisfaction in the transaction relationship between cargo companies and shippers affect performance and long-term transaction intentions. First, we derived the factors of logistics service, cost, logistics infrastructure, and company competency, which are transaction characteristics factors of a logistics company that must be specifically realized for customer satisfaction in transactions between logistics companies. Second, we analyzed how the transaction characteristics factors of a logistics company affect the company's performance, and finally, how the company's performance factors affect long-term transaction intentions. As a result of empirical analysis, there were no statistically significant results on the relationship between transaction characteristics and performance of logistics companies, which can be attributed to the small size of the logistics companies that were the sample. In other words, logistics companies that do not have sufficient capacity to provide services at low prices have no choice but to engage in constant bleeding competition. It can be seen that it reflects the characteristics of the industry. On the other hand, the relationship between corporate performance factors and long-term transaction intention was found to have a positive relationship. The higher the level of partnership with logistics companies and visible financial performance is, the higher the transaction will be in the future, and the more the transaction volume will be gradually increased. And even if it costs a little more, it can be seen that the intention to continue trading is greatly expressed.

  • To assess the port development and maritime traffic environment, the future traffic volume has been estimated using the number of inbound and outbound vessel for a specific port. The estimation of future traffic volume should be considered as an important factor to establish the degree of fairway congestion, the determination of fairway width and the operational role. Until now, the number of in and out vessel for the port has been only estimated mainly, but the type and size of inbound and outbound ships are different depending on the port's characteristics. So, it is difficult to estimate the future traffic volume using the change of only one item. This paper calculates the future traffic volume using the marine traffic characteristic factors as the number of coastal ship and ocean-going ship, the size of ship and the change of cargo volume per a ship etc. And it compared with the results of Artificial Neural Network(ANN) for accurate identification of nonlinear system.

  • This research sought to analyze the food waste collection and transportation system in Korea's related public resource-making facilities, address related problems, and suggest a reasonable alternative measure. For the food waste sorting-out and discharging methods, apartments and similar housings use containers, and individual-style housings use 'quantity-proportional' bags. The sorting and discharging methods should be improved to boost the reuse of resource-made output. The analysis of collection and transportation costs by local governments indicates that they range from 30,000 won to 150,000 won per ton, varying greatly by characteristics of local governments, thus suggesting a need to establish costs calculation criteria to justify the costs. Charges imposed to each household were not greatly problematic in the case of quantity-proportional bags; however, in the case of apartments and similar housings, charges varied greatly, suggesting a need to impose differentiated charges calculated on the basis of collection and transportation costs according to regions. Many places used household-garbage collection vehicles to collect food waste, raising the possibility of causing complaints on leaching water and bad odors. Thus, exclusive food waste collection vehicles should be gradually introduced. Also, in certain places, vehicles should travel more than 20km to collect food waste, and in such cases, a cargo transferring system should be introduced to boost efficiency in carriage.

  • Although earthquake damage was negligible in Korea during the last a few decades, its historic records suggest that the peninsula have experienced severe earthquake damages throughout the history. The potential for disastrous earthquakes, therefore, should always be considered. Harbors handle 99.6% of imported and exported cargo in Korea. Thus, it is necessary to secure the safety of harbors against seismic events and to establish a support system of emergency measures. Although instrumental seismic data are favored for seismic hazard estimation, their history in the peninsula is limited only to the past 30 years, which does not represent the long-term seismic characteristics of the peninsula. We use historic earthquakes with magnitude greater than 5 to observe long-term regional seismic hazards. Results of historic earthquake records indicate relatively high seismic hazard at harbors in Pohang, Ulsan and Incheon. Analysis of instrumental earthquake records reveal relatively high seismic hazard for harbors located along the East coast including Okgye, Mukho, Donghae, Samcheok, Pohang, and Ulsan.

  • In this study, the precise shapes of sunken ships and information on seafloor topography were analyzed using data obtained from a multi-beam echo sounder. The state of each sunken ship was analyzed by processing diverse imagery data which was compared with data obtained from past investigations to determine changes in the state and circumjacent seafloor topography. Apparent changes in the seafloor topography around one sunken ship, the "Pacific Friend", were found from stern to bow as a result of continued submarine erosion and sedimentation. In the case of sunken ship "No. 7 Haeseong", the partial collapse of the bow was revealed in the seabed images captured in 2015, though it had still been intact in images captured during the Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Agency's investigation in 2011. This partial collapse was presumed to have resulted from the effects of continued tidal currents, the cargo load of the ship and continued corrosion of the ship over a long time on the seabed. Continuous monitoring of residual fuel inside the ship is necessary to avoid leakage and potential marine pollution. By conducting image analysis on these sunken ships, it has been determined that the structural safety of the ships is seriously influenced by tidal currents and seafloor topography, while the hulls will be continuously changed by corrosion. As a result, it can be concluded that the development of prediction and response techniques that take into consideration residual fuel leakage and environmental changes according to the geological characteristics of sunken ships is necessary.
