Analysis of factors affecting career preparation behavior - Based on the recognition of college students -

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing career preparation behavior based on the perception of college students from the perspective of social cognitive career theory and to examine the effect of career barriers and career decision self - efficacy on career preparation behavior And career - decision self - efficacy. The results of the study are as follows. First, career barriers perceived by college students showed a significant positive correlation with career decision self - efficacy and career preparation behavior(-), and career decision efficacy showed a statistically significant correlation with career preparation behavior(+). Second, as a result of linear regression analysis to examine the effect of career barriers on career preparation behavior, lack of self - clarification, lack of job information, and lack of recognition of need were subordinate factors of career barriers. Third, as a result of linear regression analysis to examine the effect of career decision - making self - efficacy on career preparation behavior, goal setting and job information, which are sub - factors of career decision self - efficacy, were analyzed. Fourth, mediating effects of career decision self - efficacy on career barriers and career preparation behavior were analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. The results of this study confirm that the level of career barrier, which is an important factor in career preparation behavior of college students, should be lowered and career decision self - efficacy should be increased.

  • Purpose: This study was designed to construct a model which explains the career management, career plateau and career satisfaction of the factors influencing the career commitment of nurses. Method: The data collection was conducted from Aug. 24, 2009 to Sep. 22, 2009 through self-reported questionaries. Participants were 441 nurses who had worked in 2 national university hospitals, 1 university hospitals, and 1 hospitals founded by business enterprises. The data was analyzed by SPSS 12.0 and AMOS 15.0 for structural model. Results: Career commitment was directly impacted by career management, career plateau, career satisfaction. The predictable variables of the hypothetical model explained 28.4% of career commitment. Career commitment was significantly influenced by career management, career plateau, career satisfaction. Conclusion: The results of study suggest that some strategies are needed which focus on career management, career plateau and career satisfaction in order to promote the nurse's career commitment.

The Influence of Employee Competency and Career Management on Career Commitment: Regional Government in Indonesia

  • This study aims to test the influence of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia. The study uses the cross-sectional data of regional government employees collected from February to April 2020. Regression and structural equation modeling are employed. The results base on the effect of employee competency and career management on career commitment in Indonesia are in line with the existing theory (i.e., Bandura's Career Theory). Employee competency has a significant positive influence on career management and career commitment, which shows that regional government employees with high competency generate effective career management, and in turn career commitment increased. Regional governments with their career management program should formulate human resources management practice policy (e.g., career support, training, career development program, and orientation programs) in order to increase their competency. The positive effect of employee competency on career management is because of the effective training and career development program. The positive influence of career management on career commitment is due to the regional government providing an attractive career program, thus, employees' career commitment improved. The positive influence of employee competency on career commitment via career management is implemented by regional government support to improve the career management program.

경력개발과 경력정체가 간호사의 경력만족에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Career Development and Career Plateau on Career Satisfaction of Nurses)

  • Purpose: In this study, factors affecting career satisfaction of nurses were explored in the career development and career plateau. Methods: Participants were 143 nurses drawn from a general hospital in Busan. independent t-test, one way ANOVA and Hierarchial multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 18.0 program were used for data analysis. Results: The mean score of career satisfaction was 2.85/5, Career development was 2.99/5, and career plateau obtained 2.53/5. The extent of the career satisfaction differ according to age(F=3.60, p=.030), marital status(t=2.42, p=.017), current position(F=6.61, p=.002), total clinical career(F=3.36, p=.023), and work unit(t=0.95, p=.029). The influencing factors in career satisfaction of clinical nurses were organizational career management, career plateau and individual career planning. $R^2=.415$. Organizational career management was the highest significant predictor of career satisfaction(${\beta}=.325$). Conclusion: Factors influencing career satisfaction were organizational career management, career plateau and individual career planning. Thus a program for career development of organization is needed.

응급구조학과 학생들의 진로선택유형에 따른 진로장애요인과 진로정체감 (Career obstacle factors and career identity according to career choice type among paramedic students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine the career obstacle factors and career identity according to career choice type among paramedic students. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 234 paramedic students in C area from August 25 to September 3, 2015. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, career obstacle factors, career identity, and types of career choice. The data were analyzed by t test, ANOVA, post hoc $Scheff{\acute{e}}$ test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS v. 20.0. Results: Career obstacle factors and career identity of paramedic students had significant differences on motivation of university choice, major satisfaction, and job preference. A stable type of career choice showed a significantly lower score for career obstacle factors and a higher score for career identity. Career identity had a strongly positive relationship with major satisfaction and had a negative relationship with career obstacle factors. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the main variables affecting career identity were types of career choice, motivation of university choice, major satisfaction, and career obstacle factors. The explanatory power was 58.0%. Conclusion: The development of a career integrity enhancement program can solve the career obstacle factors for paramedic students.

지방공기업 여성직원의 경력정체가 주관적 경력성공에 미치는 영향 (Effect of regional public corporation women employee's career plateau upon subjective career success)

  • Purpose - Korean women suffered from serious experience at unfair personnel practice in the work and coexistence between work and home affairs. The study examined woman workers' career plateau perception and success who worked for local public enterprises, that is to say, regional public corporation invested by local government, and investigated mediating effect of dual commitment as well as control effect of self-efficacy from point of view of various access to variables. Research design, data, and methodology - The study investigated women employees of regional public corporation by empirical analysis. The author collected 337 copies from 380 copies and made use of 325 copies after excluding copies with improper answer. SPSS 24.0 and AMOS 24.0 were used. Results - The study investigated effect of career plateau (structure and content) upon subjective career success (job satisfaction and career commitment) according to questionnaire material: First, not only structural plateau but also content career plateau had negative influence upon dual commitment (structure and career). Second, dual commitment had positive influence upon subjective career success from point of view of organizational commitment and career commitment. Third, structural career plateau had positive influence upon career success, and content career plateau had positive influence upon job satisfaction. Fourth, structural career plateau did not have significant influence upon job satisfaction, content career plateau and career satisfaction. Fifth, subordinate variables (organizational commitment and career commitment) had mediating influence upon career plateau cognition and subjective career success. Sixth, self efficacy did not control career plateau cognition and subjective career success. Conclusions - Women employee's career plateau cognition mediated dual commitment to have influence upon career success and to be likely to help career success theory study. Career plateau had negative influence upon dual commitment and career success of women workers. The study shall give base of counteraction from point of view of control and motivation of women workers thinking of career plateau.

실업계 고등학생의 자아정체감 상태에 따른 진로탐색 및 진로결정 분석 (An Analysis of Career Exploration and Career Decision-making by Identity Statuses of Vocational High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze of career exploration and career decision-making by identity statuses(diffusion, foreclosure, moratorium, achievement) of vocational high school students. The research questions were formulated as follows. (1) Is there a difference in identity statuses by level of the career exploration? (2) Is there a difference in identity statuses by level of the career decision-making? (3) How much identity statuses-identity diffusion, identity foreclosure, identity moratorium, identity achievement-effect to the career exploration and career decision-making? 255 vocational high school students in Pusan were sampled. For the statistical analysis, Oneway, analysis of covariance structure by AMOS 4.0 was applied. The results of the study were as follows. (1) The identity diffusion was low in the level of career exploration, but the identity moratorium and achievement were high in the level of career exploration. (3) The identity diffusion was low in the level of career decision-making, but the identity achievement was high in the level of career decision-making. (4) The identity diffusion effected to negatively career exploration and career decision-making, identity foreclosure effected to low positively career exploration and career decision-making, identity moratorium effected to positively career exploration but negatively career decision-making, identity achievement effected to positively career exploration and career decision-making.

자기주도적 경력과 경력성공 간 관계 연구 -경력전략으로서의 경력단절을 중심으로- (The effects of the self-directed career management on the career success - Focused on the career interruption -)

  • 평생직장 개념이 사라지면서 스스로 고용가능성을 높이기 위해 경력단절이나 직장이동을 경력개발을 위해 전략으로 활용하려는 이른바 무경계 경력관리(boundaryless career)나 프로틴 경력(protean career)이 주목받고 있다. 본 연구는 개인차원에서의 경력관리을 위한 경력단절이 경력성과에 어떤 영향을 미치고 있는지를 분석하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 한국직업능력개발원에서 실시한 "제3차 인적자원기업패널(HCCP)" 자료를 사용하여 경력관리를 위한 경력단절 경험이 있는 그룹(자기주도적 경력추구자)과 일반경력단절 그룹(일반경력관리자)으로 구분하여 이들 두 집단간 경력성과에 차이가 있는지를 실증하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 자기주도적 경력추구자일수록 경력단절과 경력전략에 더 적극적인 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 자기주도적 경력관리를 하고 있는 근로자일수록 자신의 경력목표 달성에 도움이 되는 것이라면 다른 조직으로의 경력단절의 빈도가 높은 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 자기주도적 경력관리 집단일수록 실질적인 경력성공 달성도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 일반 경력관리자 집단보다 자기주도적 경력추구자 집단이 경력개발을 위한 경력단절이 이후 임금 및 근로조건 개선되었을 뿐만 아니라 실질적인 임금에 있어서도 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다.

  • 본 연구는 특성화 고등학교 중에서 상업계열 학생들을 대상으로 진로불안, 진로스트레스, 진로정체감 및 진로준비행동의 구조적 관계에서 진로정체감의 매개효과를 밝힘으로써 학생들의 진로지도 및 진로교육을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 진로를 준비하고 있는 상업계 고등학교 3학년 학생들을 대상으로 자료를 수집 및 분석하였다. 분석결과, 진로불안이 높아질수록 학생들의 진로스트레스는 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 진로불안은 진로정체감과 진로준비행동에는 직접적인 효과가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 진로스트레스는 진로정체감과 진로준비행동에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 진로스트레스와 진로준비행동간의 관계에서 진로정체감의 매개효과가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 진로스트레스는 진로정체감을 통하여 진로준비를 위한 행동이 많아지는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of protean career attitudes and boundaryless career attitudes on job satisfaction and career commitment in daycare teachers. The subjects in this study were 269 inservice daycare teachers who worked in childcare centers in the metropolitan cities of Busan and Daegu. Methods: As for data collection, a survey was conducted for approximately four weeks from January 3 through 31, 2020, and correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were calculated to analyze the collected data in order to address the research questions of the study. Results: The findings of the study were as follows: First, the protean career attitudes and boundaryless career attitudes of the daycare teachers had a positive correlation with their job satisfaction and career commitment. Second, whether the protean career attitudes and boundaryless career attitudes of the daycare teachers affected job satisfaction and career commitment was analyzed. The self-directedness and value orientation of the protean career attitudes of the daycare teachers and their boundaryless career attitudes exercised an influence on job satisfaction and career commitment. Conclusion/Implications: The findings of the study suggest that the protean career attitudes and boundaryless career attitudes of daycare teachers are crucial factors that have an impact on job satisfaction and career commitment.
