STRONG CONVERGENCE OF PATHS FOR NONEXPANSIVE SEMIGROUPS IN BANACH SPACES

  • Let E be a uniformly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm, C be a nonempty closed convex subset of E and f : $C{\rightarrow}C$ be a fixed bounded continuous strong pseudocontraction with the coefficient ${\alpha}{\in}(0,1)$. Let $\{{\lambda}_t\}_{0<t<1}$ be a net of positive real numbers such that ${\lim}_{t{\rightarrow}0}{\lambda}_t={\infty}$ and S = {$T(s)$ : $0{\leq}s$ < ${\infty}$} be a nonexpansive semigroup on C such that $F(S){\neq}{\emptyset}$, where F(S) denotes the set of fixed points of the semigroup. Then sequence {$x_t$} defined by $x_t=tf(x_t)+(1-t)\frac{1}{{\lambda}_t}{\int_{0}}^{{\lambda}_t}T(s)x{_t}ds$ converges strongly as $t{\rightarrow}0$ to $\bar{x}{\in}F(S)$, which solves the following variational inequality ${\langle}(f-I)\bar{x},\;p-\bar{x}{\rangle}{\leq}0$ for all $p{\in}F(S)$.

  • In this paper, we show that C-resolvent of generator can be represented by Laplace transform and establish an exponential formula for C regularized semigroups whose antiderivatives are exponentially bounded.

  • Let C be a nonempty closed convex subset of real Hilbert space H and F = $\{S(t):t{\geq}0\}$ a nonexpansive self-mapping semigroup of C, and $f:C{\rightarrow}C$ is a fixed contractive mapping. Consider the process {$x_n$} : $$\{{x_{n+1}={\beta}_nx_n+(1-{\beta}_n)z_n\\z_n={\alpha}_nf(x_n)+(1-{\alpha}_n)S(t_n)P_C(x_n-r_nAx_n)$$. It is shown that {$x_n$} converges strongly to a common element of the set of fixed points of nonexpansive semigroups and the set of solutions of the variational inequality for an inverse strongly-monotone mapping which solves some variational inequality.

WIENER-HOPF C*-ALGEBRAS OF STRONGL PERFORATED SEMIGROUPS

  • If the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) for a discrete group G with a semigroup M has the uniqueness property, then the structure of it is to some extent independent of the choice of isometries on a Hilbert space. In this paper we show that if the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) of a partially ordered group G with the positive cone M has the uniqueness property, then (G,M) is weakly unperforated. We also prove that the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) of subsemigroup generating the integer group $\mathbb{Z}$ is isomorphic to the Toeplitz algebra, but W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) does not have the uniqueness property except the case M = $\mathbb{N}$.

  • Let C be a nonsingular projective curve of genus ${\geq}2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0. For a point P in C, the Weierstrass semigroup H(P) is defined as the set of non-negative integers n for which there exists a rational function f on C such that the order of the pole of f at P is equal to n, and f is regular away from P. A point P in C is referred to as a weak Galois-Weierstrass point if P is a Weierstrass point and there exists a Galois morphism ${\varphi}:C{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{p}}^1$ such that P is a total ramification point of ${\varphi}$. In this paper, we investigate the number of weak Galois-Weierstrass points of which the Weierstrass semigroups are generated by two positive integers.

  • In this paper, we give sufficient conditions for the generalized Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operators perturbed by regular potentials and inverse square potentials AΦ,G,V,c=∆-∇Φ·∇+G·∇-V+c|x|-2 with a suitable domain generates a quasi-contractive, positive and analytic C0-semigroup in Lp(ℝN , e-Φ(x)dx), 1 < p < ∞. The proofs are based on an Lp-weighted Hardy inequality and perturbation techniques. The results extend and improve the generation theorems established by Metoui [7] and Metoui-Mourou [8].

  • Given a semigroup S generated by its squares equipped with an involutive automorphism 𝝈 and a multiplicative function 𝜇 : S → ℂ such that 𝜇(x𝜎(x)) = 1 for all x ∈ S, we determine the complex-valued solutions of the following functional equations f(xy) + 𝜇(y)f(𝜎(y)x) = 2f(x)g(y), x, y ∈ S and f(xy) + 𝜇(y)f(𝜎(y)x) = 2f(y)g(x), x, y ∈ S.

  • Let T(X) be the full transformation semigroup on a set X and ${\sigma}$ be an equivalence relation on X. Denote $$E(X,{\sigma})=\{{\alpha}{\in}T(X):{\forall}x,\;y{\in}X,\;(x,y){\in}{\sigma}\;\text{implies}\;x{\alpha}=y{\alpha}\}.$$. Then $E(X,{\sigma})$ is a subsemigroup of T(X). In this paper, we characterize two semigroups of type $E(X,{\sigma})$ when they are isomorphic.

  • In this paper, we simplify the natural partial ordering ≼ on the semigroup 𝒪([n]) under composition of all order-preserving maps on [n] = {1, …, n}, and describe its maximal elements. Also, we show that the poset (𝒪([n]), ≼) is weakly graded and determine when (𝒪([n]), ≼) has a structure of (i + 1)-avoidance.
