This paper suggests a procedure to define business process improvement (BPI) projects with analysis results based on the cause-and-effect chain. The procedure developed in this paper focuses on eliminating root causes of business problems resulted from abnormal events occurred in business process executions. First, we develop three criteria used to make clusters of the root causes where a cluster of root causes will be eliminated together by a BPI project defined based on the cluster. Second, we develop a method to formulate desired expectations from the BPI project. Also, we suggest a method to calculate the relative importance of the BPI projects that help a BPI organization determine priorities of them. We illustrate the procedure and the methods with some examples for the domestic mail delivery process in the postal service industry.

The purpose of this study is that analyzing the causal relationship between Infra, Process and Performance of companies which are executing the Supply Chain Quality Management(SCQM) with their subcontractors and partners. Korean Standards Association(KSA) provides the Supply Chain Quality Management Model and Quality Collaboration Index for 4 years, but a few study has investigated the critical variables and their causal relationship to organizational performance. Therefore we examine the SCQM model and related index and choose the quality, human resource and risk management processes for identifying the path to organizational performance. In addition, exploratory factor analysis is conducted for figuring out the major factors among the 3 processes. Structural Equation Model are successively used for determining which characteristics of the infra and processes are the most critical variables to performance. The data was collected from KSA and composed of 52 companies and 346 their partners. The result shows that risk management process has no significant effect on the organizational performance and pre-production process collaboration.

Business process reengineering(BPR) aims at a radical redesign of our business processes in order to achieve dramatic improvements in their performance. However, the fact that many BPR projects have failed hesitates the companies who have started to use BPR or who are planning to do so. Implementing a radical plan from a cross-functional perspective needs a more careful consideration of process vision, preventive measures and contigency plan. Our research suggests to use a visual decision making process (VDMP) in the development of a process vision and implementation plan. A BPR project of Carlaon School of Mnagement (CSOM) at the University of Minnesota is illustrated to show our suggested methodology.

The Business Process Management System(BPMS) has received more attentions as companies increasingly realize the importance of business processes. However, traditional BPMS has focused mainly on correct modeling and exact automation of process flow, and paid little attention to the achievement of final goals of improving process efficiency and innovating processes. BPMS usually generates enormous amounts of log data during and after execution of processes, where numerous meaningful rules and patterns are hidden. In the present study we employ the data mining technique to find out useful knowledge from the complicated process log data. A data model and a system framework for process mining are provided to help understand the existing BPMS. Experiments with the simulated data demonstrate the effectiveness of the model and the framework.

TDR is the best core innovation activity. The ultimate aim of the TDR activity induces the employees to do more productive business and obtain excellent results in the future by solving the problems, which are the nonproductive business in the business process on the objective view, the business that customers don't recognize the value, the same old practice of business, and the unsettled business from the restriction of resources. By organizing the related to workers of those business, they can solve the problems for 3-4months by full time working This paper inquires what are the obstruction factors on the process of executing TDR activity. Through the search of the reformation plan for the improvement of immersion degree, it presents some methods to be successful business.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the concept of the Business Art and the validity of the Business Art making process model, as well as to confirm the creative value of art in the business environment. The research data were collected using in-depth interviews and the collected data were analyzed by applying the grounded theory. As a result of the study, various experts in the fields of business and arts evaluated the concept of the Business Art and contents of the Business Art process model as generally valid, considering that they were actually applicable in light of their own experiences. This study establishes a new theory by verifying the transferability of academic research on the new concept of the Business Art, and presents a new viewpoint different from the existing one in the relationship between business and art. Also, the implication of this study lies in that it provided the basis for establishing the method and system that apply the concept of the Business Art and its process to business in the future.

Business Process Management (BPM) System is a software system to support an efficient execution, control and management of business processes. The system automates complex business processes and manages them effectively to raise productivity. Traditional commercial systems mainly focus on automating processes and do not have methods for enhancing process performances and task performer's efficiency. Therefore, there is room for enhancement of task performers' productivities and efficiency of business processes. In this paper, we propose a new method of executing business processes more efficiently in that a whole process is scheduled considering the degree of participants' workload. The method allows managing the largest constraints among constituent resources of the process. This method is based on the DBR (Drum-Buffer-Rope) in TOC (Theory of Constraints) concepts. We first consider the differences between business process models and DBR application models, and then develop the modified drum, buffer and rope. This leads us to develop BP-DBR (Business Process-DBR) that can control the proper size of task performers' work list and arrival rate of process instances. Use of BP-DBR improves the efficiency of the whole process as well as participants' working condition. We then carry out a set of simulation experiments and compare the effectiveness of our approach with that of the scheduling techniques used in existing systems.

Management activities of Business was globalization and had changed to a global management. Under these circumstances, business management factors and the environment has changed rapidly. Accordingly, the number of risk categories in business has increased. Especially in recent years, the convergence of industry with IT has a pivotal role in the industry's business processes. However, information systems in the Internet environment increased the efficiency of business management. Also, it increased the degree of risk and the occurrence ripple effects. In this study, we proposed risk management framework for ensuring business continuity management in information system based automobile manufacturing industry. In detail, we analysis business process in automotive manufacturing industry and identify information assets and we analysis and assess the risk.
