  • Cellular kinetics formulate the basis of tumor immune system dynamics which may be synthesized mathematically as cascades of bilinear systems which are connected by nonlinear dynamical terms. In this manner, a foundation for the control of syngeneic tumors is presented. We have analyzed the mechanisms of controlling the infiltration of lymphocytes into tumor tissues. Simulated anneal ins, a general-purpose method of multivariate optimization, is applied to combinatorial optimization, which is to find the minimum of a given function depending on many parameters. We compare the results of the different methods including the global optimization algorithm, known as simutated annealing.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a design procedure of coulomb friction dampers for controlling elastic and inelastic responses of building structures. The equivalent damping and frequency increased by the friction damper are estimated using ATC-40 and ATC-55 procedures which provide equivalent linear system for bilinear one, and then a design formula to achieve target performance response level by friction damper is presented. It is identified that there exists error between the responses obtained by this formula and by performing nonlinear analysis and the features of the error vary according to the hardening ratio, yield strength ratio, and structural period. Equations for compensating this er개r are reposed based on the least square method, and the results from numerical analyses indicate that the error is significantly reduced, and the proposed formula can be used without much error for designing coulomb friction damper for retrofitting a structure showing elastic or inelastic behavior.

  • Under the condition of stable inverse a billinear model predictive control method for SISO and MIMO system with time delay is derived. For processes subject to a bounded disturbance the proposed control method with a classical recursive adaptation algorithm was shown to be stable in the sense of the convergence of parameter estimates and the boundedness of the control error. Several simulation results demonstrate the characteristics of the proposed bilinear model predictive control method.

  • The problem of applying the linear integral filter in analysis and parameter estimation of linear continuous systems is discussed. A discrete-time model, which is equivalent to that obtained using the bilinear z transformation, is derived and employed to predict system output. It is shown that the output error can be controlled through the sampling interval. In order to obtain unbiased estimates, an instrumental variable (IV) method is proposed, where the instrumental variables are constituted using adaptive filtering. Some problems on implementation of the recursive IV algorithm are discussed. Both theoretical analysis and simulation study are given to illustrate the proposed methods.

  • Base isolation systems are economic and efficient for the control of structural vibration. In this study, the base isolators of LRB(laminated rubber bearing) type which have been generally used are fabricated and tested. From the static and dynamic tests, the characteristics of the base isolators, considering strain-hardening, hysteretic damping and horizontal stiffnesses, etc., are verified and particularly the feasibility as base isolation devices is discussed. Consequently, the test results are compared with the analytical ones that are derived from idealization as a bilinear model.

  • Model structure of solenoid valve in the automatic transmission is determined as 5th order system by the signal error test. For determining parameter of the solenoid valve, parameters in time discrete model are searched by the least square method. By bilinear transform, we have found the model of solenoid valve in s domain. Afterward, experimental output data is compared with simulated output data by MATLAB having identified parameter. As the result, experimental data is agreed with simulated data very well.

  • In this paper, A Digital Voltage Mode Controller is designed for the Photovoltaic power converter applications. The designed Digital Voltage Mode Controller is derived analytically from the continuous time small signal model of the boost converter. Due to the small signal model based derivations of the control law, the designed control method can be applicable to K-factor Approach method and bilinear transformation. In order to show the usefulness of a designed controller, and the simulation results are verified.

  • 계수적 구간 불확실 플랜트를 안정화하는 강인 제어기의 설계의 방법으로서 고정차수 극 배치(FOPA : Fixed Order Pole Assighnment) 알고리즘을 이용할 수 있다. FOPA 알고리즘에 의해서 강인제어기 계수의 집합은 선형제약조건으로 표현되고, 이 조건을 만족하는 임의의 한점은 주어진 불확실 시스템을 안정화한다. 본 논문에서는 선형제약조건으로 주어진 제어기 계수의 집합에서 외란의 에너지를 최소화하는 제어기를 구하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 전역 최적해을 구하는 문제는 BMI(bilinear matrix inequalities)로 표현되지만 제어기의 계수를 고정했을 때는 LMI(lineal matrix inequalities)로 간략화되기 때문에 제어기계수에 대한 최소화와 성능지수에 대한 최소화를 반복함으로써 국부 최적해를 구할 수 있다. 제안한 알고리즘의 효용성을 보이기 위해 제어기 설계 예를 보이고, 그 성능을 비교 분석한다.

  • 반능동 현가 시스템의 장점은 능동 및 수동 현가 시스템의 장점을 모두 갖고 있다는 것이다. 즉, 반능동 시스템은 수동 현가장치에 비해 우수한 성능을 제공하면서 대형 액츄에이터나 큰 동력 원을 필요로 하지 않는다. 지금까지는 승차감 및 조향성능을 향상시키기 위한 능동 및 반능동 현가시스템에 관한 연구가 많이 이루어졌으나, 능동 또는 반능동 현가시스템을 이용하여 대형 차량의 주행 안정성을 향상시키고, 대형차량에 의해 주로 발생하는 도로의 파손을 줄이면서 차 량의 수송능력을 향상시키는 연구는 최근에 유럽과 미국의 대형트럭 제조업체와 정부 주도로 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 그러므로 반능동 현가시스템에 의한 대형 트럭의 성능 향상 가능성 및 연구 개발도 승용차용 능동 및 반능동 현가시스템과 함께 앞으로의 주 연구 과제이다. 이글에 서는 우선 가변 댐퍼 및 반능동 현가시스템의 기본 원리를 설명하고, 반능동 현가시스템의 Bilinear Model, 제어방법에 대하여 언급한 후, 컴퓨터 모의 실험결과를 통하여 반능동 현가시 스템에 의한 차량의 동적 성능 향상을 두 가지 측면, 즉, 승용차와 대형트럭의 측면에서 언급될 것이다.

  • In order to consider the characteristics of nonlinear dynamic responses of seismic isolated bridges reasonably, piers and isolators are modeled as a 2-DOF bilinear system. Then nonlinear time-history earthquake response analysis is accomplished many artificial input ground motions which were generated to reflect the characteristics of earthquakes. Damage probabilities and failure probabilities of each structural elements of the brides are calculated by using Monte-Carlo simulation method. Based on LCC evaluation considering various cost items of direct/indirect damage costs, the optimal design method of seismic isolated bridges is proposed. By using a sensitivity analysis about the design variables and a cost effectiveness evaluation in the viewpoint of LCC, the validity and the adequacy of proposed optimal design method are verified.
