  • A simple random sample is taken from a population and a particular survey item is subject to nonresponse that corresponds to random subsampling of the sampled values within adjustment cells. Our object is to estimate Bayesian probability interval of the population mean.

  • In this paper, we consider two components system which the lifetimes have Marshall and Olkin's bivariate exponential model with bivariate type I censored data. We propose a Bayesian independent test procedure for above model using fractional Bayes factor method by O'Hagan based on improper prior distributions. And we compute the fractional Bayes factor and the posterior probabilities for the hypotheses, respectively. Also we select a hypothesis which has the largest posterior probability. Finally a numerical example is given to illustrate our Bayesian testing procedure.

  • The publication of genetic epidemiology meta-analyses has increased rapidly, but it has been suggested that many of the statistically significant results are false positive. In addition, most such meta-analyses have been redundant, duplicate, and erroneous, leading to research waste. In addition, since most claimed candidate gene associations were false-positives, correctly interpreting the published results is important. In this review, we emphasize the importance of interpreting the results of genetic epidemiology meta-analyses using Bayesian statistics and gene network analysis, which could be applied in other diseases.

  • We develop noninformative priors for a ratio of parameters of two Maxwell distributions which is used to check the equality of two Maxwell distributions. Specially, we focus on developing probability matching priors and Je reys' prior for objectiv Bayesian inferences. The probability matching priors, under which the probability of the Bayesian credible interval matches the frequentist probability asymptotically, are developed. The posterior propriety under the developed priors will be shown. Some simulations are performed for identifying the usefulness of proposed priors in objective Bayesian inference.

  • In this article, we consider a Bayesian estimation method for the geometric mean of $textsc{k}$ exponential parameters, Using the Tibshirani's orthogonal parameterization, we suggest an invariant prior distribution of the $textsc{k}$ parameters. It is seen that the prior, probability matching prior, is better than the uniform prior in the sense of correct frequentist coverage probability of the posterior quantile. Then a weighted Monte Carlo method is developed to approximate the posterior distribution of the mean. The method is easily implemented and provides posterior mean and HPD(Highest Posterior Density) interval for the geometric mean. A simulation study is given to illustrates the efficiency of the method.

  • This paper revisits parallel-line bioassay problem, from a Bayesian point of view using noninformative priors such as Jeffreys' prior, reference priors, and probability matching priors. After finding the orthogonal transformation, the class of first order and second order probability matching priors are derived. Jeffreys' prior and reference priors are derived also. Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of noninformative priors.

  • This article presents a multiple comparison ranking procedure for several products of the Poisson rates. A preference probability matrix that warrants the optimal comparison ranking is introduced. Using a Bayesian Monte Carlo method, we develop simulation-based procedure to estimate the matrix and obtain the optimal ranking via a row-sum scores method. Necessary theory and two illustrative examples are provided.

  • In this paper we predict the track of typhoons using a Bayesian principal component regression model based on wind field data. Data is obtained at each time point and we applied the Bayesian principal component regression model to conduct the track prediction based on the time point. Based on regression model, we applied to variable selection prior and two kinds of prior distribution; normal and Laplace distribution. We show prediction results based on Bayesian Model Averaging (BMA) estimator and Median Probability Model (MPM) estimator. We analysis 8 typhoons in 2006 using data obtained from previous 6 years (2000-2005). We compare our prediction results with a moving-nest typhoon model (MTM) proposed by the Korea Meteorological Administration. We posit that is possible to predict the track of a typhoon accurately using only a statistical model and without a dynamical model.

  • The paper considers the Bayesian interval estimation for the common mean of several normal populations. A Bayesian procedure is proposed based on the idea of matching asymptotically the coverage probabilities of Bayesian credible intervals with their frequentist counterparts. Several frequentist procedures based on pivots and P-values are introduced and compared with Bayesian procedure through simulation study. Both simulation results demonstrate that the Bayesian procedure performs as well or better than any available frequentist procedure even from a frequentist perspective.

  • When X and Y have independent gamma distributions, we consider the testing problem for two gamma means. We propose a solution based on a Bayesian model selection procedure to this problem in which no subjective input is considered. The reference prior is derived. Using the derived reference prior, we compute the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors. The posterior probability of each model is used as a model selection tool. Simulation study and a real data example are provided.
