  • Consider a finite measure space (${\Omega}$, ${\Sigma}$, ${\mu}$) and a Banach space $X({\mu})$ consisting of (equivalence classes of) real measurable functions defined on ${\Omega}$ such that $f{\chi}_A{\in}X({\mu})$ and ${\parallel}f{\chi}_A{\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}f{\parallel}$, ${\forall}f{\in}({\mu})$, $A{\in}{\Sigma}$. We prove that if it satisfies the subsequence property, then it is an ideal of measurable functions and has an equivalent norm under which it is a Banach function space. As an application we characterize norms that are equivalent to a Banach function space norm.

  • In this paper we introduce the intermediate differential of a Lipschitz map from a Banach space to another Banach space and prove that every locally Lipschitz function f defined on an open subset ${\Omega}$ of a superreflexive real Banach space X to a finite dimensional Banach space Y is uniformly intermediate differentiable at every point ${\Omega}/A$, where A is a ${\sigma}$-lower porous set.

  • In this paper, we study the Henstock-Pettis integral of Banach space-valued functions mapping an interval [0, 1] in R into a Banach space X. In particular, we show that a Henstock integrable function on [0, 1] is Henstock-Pettis integrable on [0, 1] and a Pettis integrable function is Henstock-Pettis integrable on [0, 1].

  • Throughout this paper, let X be a compact Hausdorff space, and let C(X) (resp. $C_{R}$ /(X)) be the complex (resp. real) Banach algebra of all continuous complex-valued (resp. real-valued) functions on X with the pointwise operations and the supremum norm x. A Banach function algebra on X is a Banach algebra lying in C(X) which separates the points of X and contains the constants. A Banach function algebra on X equipped with the supremum norm is called a uniform algebra on X, that is, a uniformly closed subalgebra of C(X) which separates the points of X and contains the constants.(omitted)

  • In this paper we define a Banach algebra on very general function space induced by a generalized Brownian motion process rather than on Wiener space, but the Banach algebra can be considered as a generalization of Fresnel class defined on Wiener space. We then show that several interesting functions in quantum mechanic are elements of the class.

  • Recently, Taji [7] and Harms et al. [4] studied the regularized gap function of QVI analogous to that of VI by Fukushima [2]. Discussions are made in a finite dimensional Euclidean space. In this note, an infinite dimensional generalization is considered in the framework of a reflexive Banach space. To do so, we introduce an extended quasi-variational inequality problem (in short, EQVI) and a generalized regularized gap function of EQVI. Then we investigate some basic properties of it. Our results may be regarded as an infinite dimensional extension of corresponding results due to Taji [7].

  • In this paper we establish the general solution of the functional equation f(2x+y)+f(x-2y)=2f(x+y)+2f(x-y)+f(-x)+f(-y) and investigate the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of this equation in quasi-Banach spaces. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from Th. M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in his paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 (1978), 297-300.

  • This talk discusses conditions on the numerical range of a holomorphic function defined on a bounded convex domain in a complex Banach space that imply that the function has a unique fixed point. In particular, extensions of the Earle-Hamilton Theorem are given for such domains. The theorems are applied to obtain a quantitative version of the inverse function theorem for holomorphic functions and a distortion form of Cartan's unique-ness theorem.
