The purpose of this study is to examine the implementation of the elective curriculum in academic high school. Elective curriculum of the high school seems to take more important status than that in the 6th national curriculum. The number of elective subjects of the high school increased from 60 different subjects for the 6th national curriculum to 79 different subjects for the 7th national curriculum. In addition, students can make their own courses and have a right to choose the subjects. In order to ascertain how elective subjects are being implemented and whether students can choose the subjects they wish to learn, this study conducted a national survey. The results of this survey are as follows. Despite the emphasis of the 7th national curriculum on the elective subjects in academic high schools, the curriculum implementation of elective subjects seems to be unacceptable. In most schools, only two typical courses such as humanities/social sciences and natural sciences courses are being offered for students as elective courses, and the scope of elective subjects students can choose appears very narrow. That's why we need to do research in order to improve implementation of elective subjects.

This study analyzed whether the factors of studying resilience of high school students had a control effect on self-efficacy and academic achievements depending on the degree of stress. For this purpose, this study set the cause and effect model and the research hypothesis through literature and then conducted a survey of 292 people of high school students in G metropolitan city. The analysis of this study showed that recognition ability and communication skill, which are the factors of studying resilience, had different effects on self-efficacy and academic achievements depending on the degree of stress. It has great significance that if the stress level of the high school students is lower, self-efficacy and academic achievements are higher. Therefore, this study suggested how to inspire the academic achievements based on the results of this analysis.
Teacher quality is a key factor that determines quality of education. Being aware of this, the Korean government and teachers have been striving to improve teachers' professionalism. Research about the impacts of efforts to enhance teacher professionalism on students' academic achievement and course satisfaction, however, is extremely limited. This study sought to advance our understanding of the relationship between these factors by analyzing what teacher characteristics impact students' achievement and satisfaction. To this end, the study drew on the middle and high school data from 3rd to 6th year survey of the Seoul Educational Longitudinal Study. Structural equational modeling were used as the main approach. Latent profile analysis, a kind of mixture modeling analysis, were used as needed. This study found that teachers' participation in instruction enhancement activity and professional development impact students' attitude toward mathematics lessons and their perception on class atmosphere, and ultimately impact their academic achievement as well as their overall satisfaction in the course. In addition, teachers' use of EBS textbooks and videos impact 3rd grade high schoolers' academic achievement. These findings suggest that effort to improve teacher professionalism positively impact students' academic achievement and course satisfaction, although there is a difference according to the year grade. This study provides implications for education policy makers and teacher educators.

Academic self-efficacy was found to have a greater effect on achievement compared to external motivation and interest. According to structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, academic self-efficacy and extrinsic motivation affected interest. Academic selfefficacy, external motivation, and interest affected science achievement. Lastly, interest mediated academic selfefficacy and external motivation on science achievement.
This study was to investigate the current prevention Mechanism of tuberculosis infection and to find out how nursing teachers handle against tuberculosis infection. The objectives of this study was to aid in better treatment and maintenance of those infected-students and help students to prevent the disease by themselves. The subjects of this research were 78 students who were proved to be infected at tuberculosis by the test result of each high school and 35 nursing teachers who retain those 78 infected students. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The infection rete of tuberculosis and the general characteristics of the infected students at Girls' High School: There are approximately 33 and 50 tuberculosis-infected cases in 1992 and 1993. The tuberculosisinfection rate were 0.12% in 1992, while the infection rate were 0.17% in 1993. The infection rate for academic Girls' High School stucents were 51.3%, while that of vocational Girls' High school students were 48.7%, About 30.8% of respondents have a family history of tuberculosis infection. 2. The current management system of tuberculosis treatment: It was reported that 59.0% of respondents out of total cases were in the process of treatment, and 41% of them were recovered (from tuberculosis). 55.1% of respondents use health center as their most frequent treatment location. 57.5% of academic Girls' High School and 47.4% of vocational Girls' high shool reported inconsistent meals while curing tuberculosis. In terms of taking medicine, 55.1% reported inconsistently. 3. The current management system of nursing teachers; Approximately 57.1% of nursing teachers were at academic Girls' High School. while 42.9% were at vocational Girls' High School. While treating tuberculosis, 85.7% of nursing teachers checked the consistent medicine-taking, 54. 3% of them checked the side effects of medicine, 80% of them consulted with students, while only 25. 7% of them check the school attendance. This study also finds out that we have underestimated the importance of tuberculosis treatment and health education at the shool level, it has not been effective enough for students to recognize the importance of tuberculosis. It is our assertion that nursing teachers should have paid much more attention to tuberculosis itself and infected-cases.

Line graphs are frequently used to communicate data and basic concepts in classroom activities, Science teachers often assume that students are able to interpret the symbolic meaning of the graphs, but such an assumption is not based on sufficient evidence, The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships of graphing ability to science-process skills and academic achievement of high school students: With regard to science-process skills, graphing ability was found to have a slight correlation with science-process skills (.41). Among the sub-skills of the science-process, graphing ability was seen to have a relatively high correlation with basic science-process skills such as 'measuring', 'inferring', 'predicting', while having relatively low correlation with integrated science-process skills such as 'formulating hypothesis' and 'generalization', With regard to academic achievement, graphing ability appeared to have no correlation with academic achievement (.06). Hence, a correlation between graphing ability and science-process skills was proved. It can also be concluded that improving graphing ability will greatly support students with their science study and, therefore, organized efforts and efficient educational methods should be developed in order to overcome the insufficient graphing ability among high school students.
