  • Let r ≥ 2, and let ki ≥ 2 for 1 ≤ i ≤ r. Mixed van der Waerden's theorem states that there exists a least positive integer w = w(k1, k2, k3, …, kr; r) such that for any n ≥ w, every r-colouring of [1, n] admits a ki-term arithmetic progression with colour i for some i ∈ [1, r]. For k ≥ 3 and r ≥ 2, the mixed van der Waerden number w(k, 2, 2, …, 2; r) is denoted by w2(k; r). B. Landman and A. Robertson [9] showed that for k < r < $\frac{3}{2}$(k - 1) and r ≥ 2k + 2, the inequality w2(k; r) ≤ r(k - 1) holds. In this note, we establish some results on w2(k; r) for 2 ≤ r ≤ k.

  • The Eye sensitivity in the difference conditions of a light source intensity consists of two functions by the receptor of cone and rod according to a wavelength. We derived a distribution function of $P({\lambda})=A{\cdot}e^{-({\lambda}-{\lambda}_0)^2/2W^2}$ using a respond probability of the receptor of cone-rod for a photon. It was well applied for a CIE eye's sensitivity curve of a wavelength, we obtained values in case of a relative sensitivity. A = 106.4, ${\lambda}_0=559.2$, W = 83.5 for a photopic and A = 99.3 ${\lambda}_0=502.6$, W = 79.5 for a scotopic, and in case of a sensitivity curve using 1m/W units. $A=7.2{\times}10^4$, ${\lambda}_0=559.2$, W = 83.5 for a photopic and $A=1.6{\times}10^5$, ${\lambda}_0=502.6$. W = 79.5 for a scotopic.

  • $Mo_xW_{1-x}Si_2$ heaters were fabricated by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) process and post sintering process. To validate the reliability of the $Mo_xW_{1-x}Si_2$ heaters, the accelerated life test (ALT) was conducted, and then lifetime to $Mo_xW_{1-x}Si_2$ heaters was estimated by using Minitab programs. Also, the failure analysis of $Mo_xW_{1-x}Si_2$ heaters after ALT was performed through electrical and structural properties. As the results, it was confirmed that the dominant failure mode of $Mo_xW_{1-x}Si_2$ heaters is the crack formation in heaters and the delamination of protective $SiO_2$ layers.

  • Poly(acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene) (ABS) composite sheets containing titanium dioxide ($TiO_2$), barium sulfate ($BaSO_4$), calcium carbonate ($CaCO_3$) were prepared by using a co-rotating twin screw extruder, and the reflectance and flexural modulus of the composite sheets were measured. The fillers were well dispersed in ABS matrix. The reflectance of composite sheet was increased with increasing $TiO_2$ and $BaSO_4$ content. Sheet having $TiO_2$ 20 wt% composition, with 5~20 wt% $BaSO_4$ resulted in more than 95% of reflectance. The flexural modulus of composite sheet was increased from 1864 MPa for $ABS/TiO_2/BaSO_4$ 85/10/5 (w/w/w) to 3134 MPa for $ABS/TiO_2/BaSO_4$ 55/20/25 (w/w/w).

  • No systematic study has examined the relationship between acoustic variability and /w/-deletion in Korean. Most previous studies on /w/-deletion have described /w/-variants in categorical terms, i.e., /w/-deletion or a full glide (Silva 1991; Kang 1997; Yun 2005). These studies are based either on impressionistic judgements without a systematic acoustic analysis or on an exclusive examination of internal acoustic variability of /w/ such as F2, without examining the availability of external acoustic cues such as voice onset time (VOT) of a consonant. However, given the important influence of the adjacent sounds for segmental realizations, it is necessary to examine possible acoustic variability in the differentiation of /w/-variants. The present study aims to address this issue by evaluating the acoustic properties of /CwV/, including VOT and formant transitions. In the analysis, 432 tokens in word-initial position (216 /CwV/ words and 216 /CV/ words) were examined. The results indicated that /w/ exhibits four different variants. Firstly, /w/ is realized as a full glide. Such a variant is characterized by a VOT difference and significant differences in F1 and F2 at voicing onset compared with /CwV/ and /CV/. Secondly, /w/ can be maintained but coarticulated with the following vowel. Such a variant is demonstrated by differences in VOT and F2. Thirdly, /w/ is categorically deleted, which is indicated by the absence of any differences in VOT, F1, and F2. Fourthly, /w/ overlaps a consonant. The F2 difference without VOT difference is manifested in the variant. In contrast to VOT, F1, and F2 differences, pitch plays little role in determining /w/-variants in Korean. These findings suggest that allophones can be produced along a gradient continuum of acoustic cues, exhibiting sounds intermediate between the full realization of a given category and its deletion. Furthermore, each variant can be cued by a set of internal and external acoustic cues.

  • We made 712 thermal property measurements on igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rock samples from Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do and Chungchung-do, Korea. The average thermal conductivities of igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks are 3.58W/m-K, 4.16W/m-K and 4.53W/m-K, respectively. Thermal conductivity of granite and gneiss are 2.13-5.87W/m-K and 2.26-6.67W/m-K, with average values of 3.57W/m-K and 3.945W/m-K, respectively. The average of thermal diffusivities are $1.43mm^2/sec\;and\;1.55mm^2/sec$, respectively; the average of specific heat values are 0.914J/gK, 0.912J/gK for granite and gneiss samples, respectively. The thermal conductivity of a rock type generally have a wide range because it depends on various factors such as dominant mineral phase, micro-structure, anisotropy, and so on.

  • In order to analyze wave propagation, tidal current, and sediment transport in the vicinity of the Gaeya open channel, it was classified into before(CASE1W) and after(CASE2W) installation of various artificial structures, and the calculation results for CASE1W and CASE2W were compared. For wave propagation, the results of incident and reflected waves were derived using the SWAN numerical model, and the tidal current velocity results were derived using the FLOW2DH numerical model for tidal current. The results of the SWAN numerical model and the FLOW2DH numerical model became the input conditions for the SEDTRAN numerical model that predicts sediment transport, and the maximum bed shear stress and suspended sediment concentration distribution near the Gaeya open channel were calculated through the SEDTRAN numerical model. As a result of the calculation of the SWAN numerical model, the wave height of CASE2W was increased by 40~50 % compared to CASE1W because the incident wave was diffracted and superimposed and the reflected wave was generated by about 7 km long northen jetty. As a result of the calculation of the FLOW2DH numerical model, According to the northen breakwater, the northen jetty and Geumrando, CASE2W was calculated 10~30 % faster than CASE1W in the tidal current of the Gaeya open channel. As a result of the calculation of the SEDTRAN numerical model, the section where the maximum bed shear stress is 1.0 N/m2 or more and the suspended concentration is 80mg/L or more was widely distributed in the Gaeya open channel from the marine environment by the complex wave field(incident wave, reflected wave and tidal wave) and the installation of various artificial structures. it is believed that a sedimentation phenomenon occurred in the Gaeya open channel.

  • Pay-to-Win (P2W) is a billing system that pays cash in-game and has a impact on results and it has been criticized by users. Research on the adolescent users and the effect of the P2W is insufficient. In this regard, this study compares the game billing in P2W and non-P2W based on self-esteem. As a result, systems showed the interaction effect on the game billing with the self-esteem. In the non-P2W, game billing increased when the self-esteem was high, whereas the billing increased rapidly as the self-esteem was low in the P2W.

  • The possibility of utilizing radiant solar energy as a renewable energy resource in Tajikistan was investigated by assessing solar irradiance using XGBoost algorithm. Through training, validation, and testing, the seasonality of solar irradiance was clear in both actual and predicted values. Calculation of hourly values of solar irradiance on 1 July 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 indicated maximum actual and predicted values of 1,005 and 1,009 W/m2, 939 and 997 W/m2, 1,022 and 1,012 W/m2, 1,055 and 1,019 W/m2, respectively, with actual and predicted values being within 0.4~5.8%. XGBoost is thus a useful tool in predicting solar irradiance in Tajikistan and evaluating the possibility of utilizing radiant solar energy.
