20대와 30~40대 여성의 상반신 신체치수 및 체형 비교 연구 - 30, 40대 여성의 영캐주얼 브랜드 선호 현상에 따른 문제점 파악을 중심으로 - (A Comparison of Upper Body Sizes and Body Types of Women in Their 20s and 30s-40s - Identifying Problems Generated by Preferences of Women in Their 30s and 40s for Young Casual Brands -)

  • Women in their 30s and 40s, who are at the center of "ageless" and "down-aging" consumer trends, are likely to encounter problems with fitting and size conformity when they wear casual clothes targeting women in their 20s. Hence, differences in upper body sizes and body types between women in their 20s and women in their 30s and 40s were analyzed. The data for this study was from the 6th Size Korea survey of body measurements of 1,675 female adults in their 20s-40s. SPSS 21.0 for Windows was used for analysis of the collected data. To examine differences in average upper body size between women in their 20s and women in their 30s and 40s, descriptive statistics and independent sample t-tests were conducted. Factor and cluster analyses were used to classify body types by age groups. Comparing direct measurement items showed that women in their 20s tend to have higher average values for most height-related items-including body height-and lower average values for circumference, thickness, and width than women in their 30s and 40s. Factors in determining the upper body shapes of women in their 20s to 40s were narrowed to five; through a cluster analysis, upper body shapes of women were classified into three body types as follows. Type 1 women are shorter and thinner with small frames; Type 2 women have the highest vertical values for their upper bodies and average values for obesity-related categories of circumference, thickness, and width. Type 3 women are the shortest and has the highest body mass index (BMI), verifiable as obese. By analyzing differences in body type distribution according to age groups, it was found that more than 90% of women in their 20s belong to Types 1 and 2. On the other hand, most women in their 30s and 40s are identified as Type 3.

북한이탈주민의 식사의 질 평가: 성인 영양지수를 기반으로 (Assessment of diet quality of adults from North Korea: using nutrition quotient (NQ) for Korean adults)

  • 본 연구는 성인영양지수 조사지를 바탕으로 북한이탈주민의 전반적인 식사의 질을 평가하고자 진행되었다. 특히 연령대별 식품 섭취 빈도와 식습관 및 식행동, 영양 지수의 차이를 분석하였다. 대상자는 서울 및 경기 일부 지역의 만 19-64세 성인 166명을 대상으로 진행되었으며 각 연령대별로 20대 41명, 30대 41명, 40대 41명, 50대이상 43명으로 연령대를 평준화하였다. 연령대가 낮을수록 라면, 패스트푸드, 과자 (초콜릿, 사탕 포함), 달거나 기름진 빵 (케이크, 도넛, 단팥빵 등), 가당 음료 등 고에너지 식품 섭취 빈도와 외식, 야식 섭취 비율이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 20대 연령대에서 총점 NQ, 절제 영역 총 점수가 낮고 등급은 '하'로 판정된 비율이 높았다. 50대 연령대에서 절제영역의 점수가 높게 나타난 원인은 라면, 패스트푸드, 과자, 달거나 기름진 빵, 가당 음료 등과 같은 고에너지 식품 섭취 빈도도 낮기 때문인데, 이는 이 집단이 절제력있는 식사를 하고 있는 것으로 비춰질 수도 있으나 중년층에서 패스트푸드, 라면과 같은 식품의 기호도가 낮아 아예 섭취 고려 대상이 아니라는 점에 주목해야 한다. 본 연구에서 주목해야 할 점은 연령이 낮을수록 식사의 질이 매우 열악하게 나타나 식사의 질 개선을 위한 맞춤형 영양 교육 프로그램 개발 및 보급의 필요성을 시사한다. 이에 본 연구의 결과와 시사점이 북한이탈주민의 건강 증진을 위한 영양 교육과 이를 위한 정책 마련의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

  • This study investigates the working conditions of shift workers according to age group by analyzing the sixth Korean Working Conditions Survey's data. A total of 1,323 shift workers were extracted from the dataset. Three age groups (A: 20s-30s, B: 40s-50s, C: 60s and above) were statistically compared in terms of health problems, emotional hazard exposure, work-life imbalance, and satisfaction with working conditions. Elderly shift workers (those in their 60s and above) had significantly more severe health problems and work-life imbalance, greater exposure to emotional hazards, and lower satisfaction with working conditions than young shift workers (those in their 20s-50s). The study's findings reveal the characteristics of working conditions for elderly shift workers and would be useful for improving shift workers' quality of life, as well as safety and productivity in the workplace.

연령별 손 건강에 대한 관심과 손 피부 관리행동의 상관관계 연구 (Correlation between interests of hand's health and hand skin care behaviors by age group)

  • 본 연구는네일 관리 샵에서 고객의 세부 요구 사항을 연령대별로 파악, 고객의 관리 행동을 이해하여 고객 만족도를 높이는 접근 방법을강구할 수 있는 지표 개발 목적으로시행되었다. 이에 전문 네일 샵의 주 고객층을 이루고 있는 20대에서 50대 사이의 성인을 대상으로 2017년 8월 30일부터 9월 15일까지 설문을 실시, 302부를 최종 분석하였다. 연구결과, 건강한 손피부에 대한 관심은 연령에 구분 없이 높은 지표를 보였으나 관리 행동에서는 다소의 차이를 발견 할 수 있었다. 20대와 30대에서는 손 건강에대한 관심이 높을수록 자가 손피부관리 행동이 두드러졌으며(r=.284, p<.01) 이는 건강한 손 상태와 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 40대와 50대에서는 손 건강에 대한 정보의 인지(${\beta}=.246$, p<.1), 관련 제품 사용(${\beta}=.312$, p<.05)과 전문 관리(${\beta}=.354$, p<.000)가 건강한 손 피부상태에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 꼽혔다. 이는 연령에 따라 손피부에 대한 관심 영역과 고민도 변화하며 그에 따라 관리 행동도 변화함을 알려주는 동시에 건강한 손피부에 대한 인식 고양과 연령에 따른 효과적인 손 관리 행동에 대한 보다 구체적인 후속 연구 필요성을 시사하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 연령별 손 건강에 대한 관심과 손피부관리행동을 참조하여 네일 전문제품 개발 및 네일 전문 관리샵 마케팅 전략과 맞춤형 프로그램 개발의 기초자료로써 네일 산업 발전에 기여하고자 한다.

전국 권역별, 연령별 여자 성인과 노인의 짠맛 미각판정치, 식태도 및 식행동 비교 (A Comparison of Salty Taste Assessment, Dietary Attitude and Dietary Behavior among Adult and Senior Women by Region and by Age in Korea)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze the results of salty taste assessment, dietary attitudes, and dietary behaviors among adult and senior women by region and by age. The results generated from this was expected to provide fundamental data for implementing a nationwide salt reduction education program. Methods: The salty taste assessment tool was applied to 4,064 subjects from 15 areas in Korea. Also, a survey of dietary attitude and dietary behavior related to salt intake was conducted for all subjects participated in this study. Results: The salty taste assessment scores by region and by age were the lowest in capital (p < 0.01) and was highest among the 70+ year age group (p < 0.01). The dietary attitude scores and dietary behavior scores showed that Gyeongsang was the highest (p < 0.001) and the capital was the lowest. The dietary attitude scores were highest at 20&30's followed by 40's and 70's group (p < 0.001). Dietary behavior scores showed that 20's~30's and 40's groups were higher than the other age groups (p < 0.001). The score of 'I like kimchi' was $3.46{\pm}0.88$, which was the highest among 10 dietary behavior questions. The score of 'I eat a lot of kimchi' was $3.30{\pm}0.90$, which was the highest among 10 dietary behavior questions related to salt intake. The scores of salty taste assessment had significant positive correlations between the scores of dietary attitude (p < 0.001), dietary behavior (p < 0.001) and self-awareness (p < 0.001). Conclusions: Based on the results of salty taste assessment, we observed a tendency that older people and regions except the capital had higher preference for salty taste. Our results suggested the necessity for a nationwide salty reduction education program tailored for regions and for different age groups.

휴대폰의 기능에 대한 사용자 요구 인식에 관한 연구 - 20대, 30대, 50대 사용자의 휴대폰 기능별 사용 빈도와 필요성 인식을 중심으로 (A Study on User Needs Cognition on Functions of Mobile Phone - Focused on Use Frequency and Necessity on Functions of Age Group)

  • 휴대폰은 통화, 문자메시지의 기본적인 기능뿐만 아니라, 1000만화소 디지털카메라, MP3, MP4, Blue-tooth, 지상위성DMB 화상통화 등의 최첨단 멀티미디어 기능들이 추가된 컨버전스 제품으로 자리잡고 있다. 이러한 많은 기능을 포함하고 있는 휴대폰이 사용자에게 편의성을 제공하고 있지만, 한편으로는 복합적인 기능들의 제공으로 인한 경제적인 부담감을 가중시키는 결과를 초래하고 있기도 하다. 이러한 점을 인지하여, 본 연구에서는 연령대별로 20대, 30대, 50대, 세 그룹을 선정하여 설문조사를 통해 사용자 입장에서의 휴대폰의 기능별 사용빈도와 필요성에 대해 조사하였다. 그 결과, 휴대폰의 기능별 시용 빈도와 필요성 인식은 세 그룹이 뚜렷하게 그 차이를 보였고, 20대와 30대, 50대뿐만 아니라 다른 연령대별 사용자도 그 차이가 두드러지게 나타날 것이라 예측된다. 모든 사용자의 요구를 충족시켜 주는 휴대폰을 개발하는 데는 어려움이 다를 것이다. 하지만 연령별, 성별, 세대별, 지역별 다른 감성을 가지고 있는 사용자 등 여러 측면으로 사용자층을 분류하여 각 분류에 맞는 요소별로 연구가 진행된다면 모든 사용자의 욕구를 만족시킬 수 있는 휴대폰을 개발하는데 어려움을 줄일 수 있을 것이다.

Physicochemical traits of Holstein loin and top round veal from two slaughter age groups

  • The objective of this study was to investigate the physicochemical and microbial quality of loin (m. longissimus dorsi) and top round (m. Semimembranosus) in Holstein veal produced from two slaughter age groups (5 and 8 months of age). A total of 20 Holstein calves were randomly selected from a local cattle farm. The slaughtered cold carcasses were vacuum-packaged. The samples were analyzed for proximate composition and physicochemical analyses and stored for 1, 7, 10, 20 and 30 days for microbiological analyses. Fat and protein contents of loin for the 8 month group were higher than those for the 5 month groups (p < 0.05). For both loin and top round muscles, the pH, cooking loss and the shear force values for the 5 month group was higher than those for the 8 month group (p < 0.05). On the other hands, the water-holding capacity (WHC) for the 8 month group was higher than those for the 5 month group (p < 0.05). In terms of meat color, CIE $L^*$ (lightness) for both muscle were higher in the 5 month group than in the 8 month groups. On the other hands, $a^*$ (redness) were higher in the 8 month group than in the 5 month groups (p < 0.05). Total aerobic counts in all samples remained up to 30 days at values less than 7 log CFU/g. However, there was no significant difference for both muscles between the two age groups. The results indicate that Holstein muscles from the 8 month group had desirable quality properties than those from the 5 month group.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship structure in discount store focusing on age. Subjects for this study were 360 customers who had purchased fashion products in discount stores. For date analysis, $x^2$-test and regression analysis were used. As the result, when comparing groups by the age, women in their 20s, 30s and 40s had 'relationship maintenance intention' through satisfaction, trust and commitment. In the case of women in their 20s group, the information, reputation, product salesperson and price variables had the effects on satisfaction. The information, location, salesperson variable had direct effect on relationship maintenance. In the case of women in their 30s group, the benefits, information, reputation and price variables had the effects on satisfaction. And the information, salesperson variable had direct effect on relationship maintenance. In the case of women in their 40s group, the information, location and price variables had the effects on satisfaction. The reputation variable had direct effect on relationship maintenance. Based on these results, fashion marketing strategies of discount store would be suggested.

A Comparative Study by Age in Evaluating Web-based 3D Model House

  • This study aims to explore age-related differences with the assessment tools in the web-based 3D virtual model house and to propose the 3D model house criteria which everyone can use easily. The participants came from three age groups, ranging from their 20s to their over 40. Presence, Usability and Space perception and cognition in the experiment for navigating and evaluating the web-based 3D model house were measured and compared through one-way ANOVA and two-way ANOVA. The results and conclusions are as follows. (1) The younger the participants were, the more positive they evaluated the experiment on Presence. However, 20s needed higher presence than other two groups. (2) 30s and over 40 groups evaluated that the 3D virtual model house was more efficient than an actual model house on Usability. When the participants were younger, the values of 'expressivity' factor were higher. (3) The younger the participants were, the more positive they perceived the virtual environment (VE) on Space perception and cognition scale. There were no significant differences in the selection of dwelling size and the floor plan type. There were no significant differences of interaction effects between age and online gaming experience on Presence and Usability. The results of the current study demonstrate that there are differences among age groups and older groups have difficulty navigating and assessing in a VE. Although older groups take longer to adapt in the VE, they regard the 3D model house as an effective tool for purchase of house.

Effects of Age and Gender on the Viability and Stem Cell Markers, mRNA, and Protein Expression of Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cells Cultured in Growth Media

  • Purpose: Bone marrow has long been a source of primary cells. This study was performed to evaluate the effects of age and sex on the cellular viability and expression of stem cell markers of mRNA and on the protein expression of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) derived from healthy donors. Materials and Methods: Stem cells were isolated from human bone marrow and plated in culture plates. The shape of the BMSCs was observed under inverted microscope. Quantitative cellular viability was evaluated using a Cell-Counting Kit-8 assay. The expression of stem cell surface markers was tested and a series of quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) and Western blot was performed to evaluate the expression in each group. Result: The shapes of the cells at 20s, 30s, and 50s were similar to each other. No significant changes in cellular viability were noted among different age groups or sex groups. The BMSCs expressed CD44, CD73, and CD90 surface markers but did not express CD14 and CD34. There were no noticeable differences in CD surface markers among the different age groups. The expressions of CD surface markers were similar between men and women. No significant differences in the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs) were noted at Day 3 between different age groups. qRT-PCR regarding the expression showed differences between the age groups. However, Western blot analysis showed a decrease in expression but did not reach statistical significance (P>0.05). Conclusion: This study clearly showed no significant differences in shape, cell viability, expression of stem cell surface markers, or secretion of human VEGF among different age groups. However, western blot analysis showed a tendency of age-related decrease which did not reach statistical significance. Collectively, autologous or allogeneic BMSCs should be meticulously applied to obtain optimal results regarding age and sex.
