This research focuses on the development of gifted child behavior checklist which feasibly has application on the nation-wide gifted children observation-recommendation method. Corresponding measure has significance as it reflects actual observations of teachers teaching gifted children first-hand and involves measure of importance regarding each characteristic. An open survey on gifted children behavior characteristics lists and specific behavior patterns has been acquired from teachers in gifted education, and the checklist was developed through expert group review, pre-test, and confirmatory factor analysis process. The former checklists have shown several difficulties on application of observation-recommendation on the field due to behaviors that can't be observed in school, less important behaviors, and collide and duplicate behaviors etc. With regard to such problems, problematic clauses were removed based on the observation probability and importance of the behaviors. Ultimately, total of 32 behavior characteristic checklist consisting of ten sub factors(logical thinking, high achievement, originality, perfectionism, creative problem solving, curiosity, task commitment, conversation ability, creativity, passion) and two to three questions on each factor had been drawn. Through internal consistency test and item-total score correlation, each item of the measure has been analyzed to be consistently evaluating corresponding variables. In addition, the result of confirmatory factor analysis showed every item to be weighed appropriately on its sub-factor, strongly suggesting its feasibility on observation-recommendation of elementary gifted children as an appropriate checklist.
This study investigated the longitudinal effect of peer play behavior (PPB) during toddlerhood on social competence (SC), followed by the effect on adaptation to elementary school. Data were collected from the 4th to 9th Panel Study on Korean Children between 2011 to 2016, of which the data collected from 114 boys and 94 girls were finally analyzed. Multi-Mediator Model Analysis were performed using SPSS and PROCESS macro programs. First, PPB observed at the age of three significantly predicted PPB observed at ages four and five. It significantly affected SC observed at the age of six after transitioning through PPB at each stage. Second, PPB observed at the age of three significantly impacted the degree of adaptation in the first and second grades of elementary school. The medium identified in this second finding was PPB observed after the age of three and SC observed at the age of six.

User-centered design aims to develop device naturally without the interference of user' s conscious and unconscious behavior. Accordingly, designers need to understand their user's requirements, observe user behavior and interaction in the real environment. However, existing observations suggested a vast range of analysis system and observation techniques which are often ambiguous to the designers. Therefore, this research is aimed to propose an observation system for collecting data from user's behavior. In order to do so, we define the components and behavior level within the context of driving.
In this paper, we observe one of the aquatic insect, fish(Medaka)'s behavior which reacts to giving toxic chemicals until lethal conditions using automatic tracking sl$.$stem. For the result, we define the Pattern A is a normal movement of fish and Pattern B is after giving the chemicals. In order to detect the movement of fish automatically, these patterns are selected for the training data of the artificial neural networks. The average recognition rates of the pattern B are remarkably increased after inputs of toxic chemical(diazinon) while the Pattern A is decreased distinctively. This study demonstrates that artificial neural networks are useful method for detecting presence of toxicoid in environment as for an alternative of in-situ behavioral monitoring tool.
Criminal profiling is a effective and efficient measure for enhancing industrial security of casino business. Particularly, developing criminal profiling of deviant behaviors in casino will help security management to become more effective and efficient in practical ways. Unfortunately, however, there is lack of empirical profiling study in this regard. To fill the vacuum of literature on this topic, this study was purported to create offender profiles of different types of deviant behaviors in casino based on various theories and techniques in criminal profiling literature, such as investigative psychology, linkage analysis, and behavioral evidence analysis. To fulfill the purposes, this study collected behavioral evidence from 90 casino security officers in South Korea. Offenders' behavioral evidence was analyzed to develop offender profiles of seven different types of deviant behaviors, and then the profiles were compared with each profiles that security officers focus on to identify offenders during their work hours. Results showed that, first, there were unique profiles of each type of seven different categories of deviant behaviors in terms of offenders' ways of speaking and acting, their appearance and attitudes. In addition, this study found that there were some amount of gaps between actual offenders' profiles and profiles that security officers have in mind. Based on the results, this study provided policy implications in terms of managing casino industrial security, education and training for security officers, and future study on casino security.
This study is the qualitative study in order to discover a direction of field courses by analyzing what elementary school students observe or hypothesis in field courses. The purpose of it is to find any relevancy between the observations and hypotheses generated. The result of the study were as follows; First, most participants have observed mostly based on their vision due to the characteristic of field courses, and the observations of sedimentary layers were mainly generated on the rocks while most hypotheses were on geological structures. Secondly, according to observational descriptions the frequency of the comparative observation was high as well as the cases when two different types of observations were joined together. The last conclusion from this investigation is, according to the standard of observational types, the hypotheses combined with the interpretive observation and comparative observation had the greatest percentage. This shows that many participants tried to rationalize their thoughts by interpreting geological structures and comparing them with other people's cases as well. Scientific explanatory hypotheses were mainly found according to the standard of hypothetical types, which can be constructed that those participants tried to explain and apply established knowledge and preconception.
The personal introduction of 2009 academic year Korea Science Academy (KSA) freshman, 143 persons, recommendation that is filled with giftedness cases and observation recording through observing the students by guidance teacher and professor, and Observation recording paper about students that is made by parents, were analyzed in order to investigate behavior characteristics of the Scientifically Gifted by Computer Assisted Qualitative Data Analysis System (CAQDAS). We could divide behavior characteristics of the Scientifically Gifted to 5 main categories by study results. As well as this study may make up for foreign researches and existing researches dependent on quantitative research about behavior characteristics of the Scientifically Gifted, This can be used as a useful data for development of instrument for identifying the scientifically Gifted and teaching-studying program by supporting understand behavior characteristics of the Scientifically Gifted as a specific area of giftedness.
