Design and Application of an Instructional Model for Flipped learning of Programming Class (프로그래밍 수업의 플립드러닝 학습모형 설계 및 적용)

  • The purpose of this study is to design and implement an instructional model for flipped learning of programming class. Because a programming process requires a high level of abstract thinking with a good understanding of a programming language, many students have difficulty in programming. For this characteristic of programming, it is not easy to effectively achieve learning goals of programming lesson by lecturing grammatical elements of a programming language and the following examples in a limited class time. In order to overcome these problems and to make effective programming lessons, we designed an instructional model based on flipped learning. Especially, in this study, we analyzed learners' difficulties in programming learning and errors that occurred in actual programming process for designing the instructional model. As a result of applying this model to the class, it was found that the students were generally satisfied with the lesson by having positive communication with other students in the classroom and actively participating in the learning.

  • The purpose of this thesis was to implement effective blended PBL(Problem-Based Learning) systems for information communication ethics education. Online learning and face-to-face classes were systematically combined for achieving the teaching-learning goals. And the main module for online learning run on Moodle, an open source learning management system. To examine educational effectiveness of the proposed systems, an experimental study was conducted through the method to the subject of two class in the second-grade of university located in ${\bigcirc}{\bigcirc}$ city. For experiment 60 students(treatment group=30, control group=30) are participated. And they were assigned to one of ten subgroups, comprising of six students, respectively. The results of this study are follows, First, the education using proposed blended PBL method is more effective in cultivating consciousness of information communication ethics than the education using face-to-face PBL learning method. Second, learners who participated in the proposed blended PBL more experienced various effects of PBL, such as (1) Improvement of problem solving ability, (2) Understanding of cooperative learning than the other learners who participated in the face-to-face PBL.

Study on Improvement of Circuit Repairing Abilities through Headlight Assignment on Automotive Electronics Subject (자동차전기 과목의 '전조등 과제' 에서 회로수리능력 향상에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to define what circuit repairing ability is and to check improvement in learner's circuit repairing abilities by verifying conformity of learner's achievement of target goals that have been derived from headlight assignment based on circuit repairing ability that has been categorized into six sub-factors, which are preparing ability, attaching/detaching ability, circuit analyzing ability, inspecting and measuring ability, repairing (problem solving) ability and organizing ability. In order to achieve the purpose of study, degree of improvement in circuit repairing ability of learner's group was measured through experiment design and verification by group of experts. SPSS statistics program was used for statistical analysis in which average value for descriptive statistics, Cronbach ${\alpha}$ coefficient and t-test were conducted. Level of significance for t-test was p<.05. The conclusions from conducting this study are as follows. Firstly, the usage of terminology 'circuit repairing ability' pertaining to ability to repair failure of electrical devices in automobiles was confirmed to be appropriate. Secondly, the categorization of circuit repairing ability into sub-factors of preparing ability, attaching/detaching ability, circuit analyzing ability, inspecting and measuring ability, repairing (problem solving) ability and organizing ability was confirmed to be appropriate. Thirdly, field instruction on headlight assignment that has been revised according to achievement of learner's goals was confirmed to be effective in improving learner's circuit repairing abilities compared to regular training. Fourthly, field instruction on headlight assignment that has been revised according to achievement of learner's goals was confirmed to be effective in improving sub-factors of circuit repairing abilities, which are preparing ability, attaching/detaching ability, circuit analyzing ability, inspecting and measuring ability, repairing (problem solving) ability and organizing ability.

A Development of Traffic Safety Education Application Using Mixed Reality (혼합현실을 활용한 교통 안전교육 애플리케이션 개발)

  • In this study, we developed a "Zetton Children's Traffic Safety Education" application using mixed reality to help children experience a variety of traffic situations indirectly and to help them defend themselves from accidents. We analyze the types of high mortality child traffic accidents to set learning goal. And we developed the experience-oriented contents that players could acquire signal systems and traffic information naturally and funny in the course of playing scenarios according to designed various traffic situations. In order to verify the educational effectiveness of the developed application, children were given traffic safety education through after-school education activities. The result shows that the frequency of right answers to questions related to traffic safety awareness and learning objectives is increased.

Educational usage of Web 2.0-tool for Cooperative Learning (협동학습을 위한 Web 2.0도구의 교육적 활용 방안)

  • In this paper, I introduce web 2.0 tool with which cooperative learning is possible based on C4LPT, and suggest educational application plan of web 2.0 tool by offering briefly the teaching-learning process plan for application class of web 2.0 tool. The class through the suggested teaching-learning process plan encouraged participation so that the common goal of a small group could be achieved and provided a web base where free communication could be possible. Futhermore, by using the collaboration space of web 2.0 tool, I could attract learners' study interest and maintain learning atmosphere. Based on teaching-learning process plan, I have taught university freshmen from 2012 to the present, and I could confirm the possibility of education application and the satisfaction of education application of web 2.0 tool through students' learning results and a survey.

  • Whether the engineering department of universities employs ideal usage of e-learning or not needs to be investigated as many engineering departments diversify the use of the e-learning elements for educational purpose. Applying the teaching and learning methods and characteristics would lead to better strategies which are applied to development of contents and deployment of the e-learning courses. This study examines the characteristics and approaches of the usage of e-learning elements used by some instructors who use multimedia contents in offline teaching and learning environment. The results of this study shows that the e-learning elements assist the face-to-face course and the interactions are manifested in the classroom rather than in online setting. Lecture, hands-on-practice, simulation, and PBL(Problem-based learning) are turned out to be the major teaching and learning methods. This study signifies the need for use of various teaching and learning methods by the instructors and provision of PBL environment.

  • Web-based distance teacher training should focus on increasing self-directed problem solving skills of trainers by problem-based instruction(PBL). Performance assessment evaluates achievement of learning goals through the practical performance learning to solve problems in the real situation. This study proposes a web-based performance assessment model for the distance teacher training. It reflects fairness and objectiveness issues of performance assessment which elementary teachers are concerned about through the survey on distance teacher training, and relieves instructors from overload of managing and scoring performance tests. The proposed model provides problem-based learning situations, interactions between individuals and groups, and web-based cooperative evaluation and the peer evaluation.

  • 유역 특히 상습침수지구의 통합관리는 유역이라는 한정된 범위 내에서 물에 영향을 미치거나 물에 의하여 영향을 받는 모든 인간 활동과 자연현상을 통합적으로 고려하는 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 유역관리는 유역 차원에서 물을 경제적이고 공평하게 관리하고 분배하여 수자원에 대한 장기적이고 지속가능한 해결방안을 마련하는 것이다. 여기에는 정부, 시민사회 및 기업 행위자가 사회경제적 개발목표와 정책형성, 집행계획을 수립하는 것으로부터 시작된다. 유역관리를 위한 의사결정들은 행위자들과의 영향으로 수정되며, 이런 과정에서 토지와 수자원에서 분쟁이 발생하며, 수자원 관리자는 자연현상, 물 사용, 재정적, 인적자원 및 외부적인 요인으로 인해 목적을 달성하는데 부합하지 않을 수도 있다. 효과적인 유역관리를 위해서는 제약조건하에서 수자원 관리자가 의사결정에 정보를 주고 주요 행위자들과 협력을 통해서 이루어 질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 유역관리를 위한 의사결정을 행위자기반모형(Agent based Model, ABM)으로 이해하고자 하며, ABM은 유역관리의 이해당사자간의 정책과정을 도출하고 다양한 유역관리 대안을 평가하고 유역관리의 영향을 설명하는 모델이다. 본 모형은 관측자료를 통해 상향식 접근법으로 가능한 많은 세부사항을 모의할 수 있다. 분석과정은 자료의 수집, 모델 확립, 모델의 개발, 통계자료 수집 및 모델의 결과와 실제 시스템의 보충된 관측자료를 비교하는 검증 순으로 진행되며, 본 모델에서의 행위자는 과거의 행동으로부터 주위 환경의 반응하는 패턴을 확인하고 개발하며, 이러한 패턴은 정책들을 구별하기 위해서 이용되며, 이러한 과정에서 강화학습이 이루어진다. 이를 통해 행위자의 익숙한 방식의 합리적인 행동과 정책들의 상관관계를 평가할 수 있으며, 강화학습을 통해 실제적인 통계적인 모델이 가능하다.

Development of LMS Evaluation Index for Non-Face-to-Face Information Security Education (비대면 정보보호 교육을 위한 LMS 평가지표 개발)

  • As face-to-face education becomes difficult due to the spread of COVID-19, the use of e-learning content and virtual training is increasing. In the case of information security education, practice to learn response techniques is important, so simulation hacking and vulnerability analysis activities have been supported as virtual training for a long time. In order to increase the educational effect, contents should be designed similar to real situation, and learning activities to achieve the learning goals should be designed. In addition, excellent functions and scalability of the system supporting learning activities are required. The researcher developed an LMS evaluation index that supports non-face-to-face education by considering the key elements of non-face-to-face education and training. The developed evaluation index was applied to the information security education platform to verify its practical utility.
