The purpose of this study is to identify the characteristics of reading education of the specialized high schools for an alternative education. Among the specialized high schools for an alternative education, five schools were selected for the study. To achieve the study purpose, interviews were conducted with the teachers in charge of reading education of the schools. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. According to the study results, there have been attempts to integrate curriculum and reading education based on humanities. Students were actively participating in planning and conducting reading programs. Furthermore, there were Library Assisted Instructions. In order to proceed successfully with the reading education, there were several important factors as follows: 1)there was an organized system to support reading education by teachers, schools, and school libraries. 2)students' interests and needs were reflected in designing reading programs, 3)reading programs were adjusted according to students' needs and interests, and 4)reading activities were emphasized.

The purpose of this study is to develop the public library programs that support the needs of multicultural families by examining the details of their information needs, focusing on the children's education issues of multicultural families. For this purpose, the data on experiences and needs related to the education of multicultural families' children were collected through in-depth interviews with married immigrant women. The study found the following six types of children's education-related needs of multicultural families: 1) Lack of understanding about the educational system and situation of Korean schools, 2) Their children's needs for language and learning 3) Their children's Bilingual education 4) Educational information for the role of parents, 5) Prejudice and discrimination against their children at school 6) Supporting library awareness and experience of mulitcultural families. Based on these needs, the following programs were suggested: 1) Parent role program for children's education, 2) Children's learning program, 3) Children's language education program, 4) Multicultural understanding education, 5) Library user education and guidance.

본 연구는 영문으로 발표된 문헌고찰을 통해 한국의 청소년 자살행동의 예측요인을 종합적으로 이해하고 이과 관련된 정책과 중재프로그램의 동향을 파악하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 이 연구의 목적은 나아가 한국 청소년 자살을 감소시키고 억제하는데 필요한 효과적인 중재방안의 개발에 근거자료로 활용될 수 있다. 본 연구는 주제어 검색을 통해 4대 사회과학 검색엔진을 활용하여 문헌검색을 하였고 Citation Pearl Growing 기법을 적용하여 영문으로 발표된 학술지 게재 논문을 선별하였는데 추가적으로 국회도서관 전자 데이터베이스를 이용하여 최근 청소년 자살에 관한 대표적인 2개의 보고서를 찾아 고찰하였다. 본 문헌고찰은 청소년 자살예방 중재 프로그램 뿐만 아니라 청소년 자살행동에 영향을 주는 요인을 거시적, 미시적 차원으로 논하였다. 청소년 자살행동에 기여하는 거시적 또는 사회적 요인은 국가 경제수준, 대학입시에 대한 학업성취도 스트레스, 그리고 매체 및 인터넷 문화였다. 개인적 또는 미시적 위험요인은 6개의 영역으로 나누어 설명되었다. 일반적 특성, 가족 특성, 학교 환경, 약물 사용, 정신적 장애, 성적 정체성이었다 이 6개 영역의 위험요인들이 서로 조합되면서 청소년에게 자살 의도나 시도가 일어나도록 하는 경향이 높았으며 이중 청소년 자살 예방에 우선적인 3대 요소는 자아정체성 확립, 정신건강 중재서비스의 제공, 거시적 예방 정책의 구조화로 분석되었다. 종합적으로 학교는 정규학교교육과정과 학생 검사를 통해서 일반적인 정신건강교육을 실시하고 위험학생을 선별 하는데 핵심적인 장이다. 따라서 학교를 경유한 위험학생 선별사업과 이에 따른 교육 및 중재 프로그램의 지원이 활성화되는 것이 필요하다.

In an attempt to promote reading among middle school students which has been declining sharply, this study suggests new directions for reading education in school libraries. The study examined the following: correlation between students' attitudes toward reading and their reading achievements as revealed in PISA 2009, nationwide survey results on reading, and studies on attitudes and motives for reading. Korean students' reading achievement is very high among the OECD countries but their reading attitude is not positive enough. The strong positive relationship between pleasure reading and reading achievement indicates the importance of the provision of ample collections at school libraries as well as library programs fostering independent, free-will reading. Reading programs at school libraries should cater to students' individual characteristics and needs, such as their sex, abilities, affective and cognitive attitudes, experiences, as well as the quantity, the formats, and the time of their reading, etc.

The purpose of this study is to identify the status and also to develop improvement plans for the children and youth services of the public libraries. To determine the information service status and the librarians' perceptions on the levels of services they provided, the 2016 Korean National Library Statistics System data and the survey results from the children and youth program librarians in the 108 public libraries were analyzed. The analysis revealed the problems such as lack of human resources and budget, shortage of space, and an inflexible program curriculum, which affect the program as a whole negatively. Five suggestions were made to remedy the problems. They are: 1) development of the new programs, which can interest the children and youth and motivate the sense of association among the program participants; 2) increase the number of the programs including the schools and other related organizations nearby region; 3) incorporating the new program formats to enhance the participation; 4) starting the new services explicitly targeted for the information-poor group of people; and 5) soliciting policy-level support for the libraries. In summary, this study made a few suggestions for the libraries ranging from planning the programs to requesting assistance from the national as well as the regional governments.

The purpose of this study is to measure the significant change in the career maturity of high school female students influenced by career exploration report writing program based on reading activities. This program was operated for a total of six weeks, and it took 100 minutes for two sessions per week with 23 high school female students. According to pre-post test comparative analysis, 5 out of 8 sub-factors of career maturity showed significant change. The 5 Factors are planning, self understanding, information search and career exploration and preparation actions. Above all the factor of knowledge on desired job especially showed a very considerable effect. But 3 factors such as attitude for occupation, independence and rational decision making did not show a significant result. Based on these, authors proposed some improvement plans of the career exploration report writing program.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the developmental strategies of information literacy program based on the integrated topics to promote inquiry abilities of middle school students who take part in the free semester system. To that end, the content of the 2015 revised curriculum on a national level was analyzed to develop 6 inquiry themes that incorporate Korean, Social Studies, Music and Art. The instruction and learning guide were consisted of three stages of forming a background knowledge, researching and creating and evaluating the conclusion of the research. The detailed activities for research step were consisted of the four steps of recognition of the problem, information analysis and interpretation, compilation of information and evaluation for each activity. Among the themes "environment" and "appreciation" were applied to a public library and a middle school library as a trial. The trial application saw that students took an interest in programs that subject themes are link with various topics. They were also very satisfied with such programs.

The Reading Certification System is a form of reading education, a program in which homeroom teachers or librarians certify and reward students' reading and reading activities in order to raise motivation for reading. This study investigates and analyzes the management of the Reading Certification System in elementary school libraries in Gapyeong County, indicating problems and providing ways to resolve them by examining theories on school libraries' reading education and the Reading Certification System through a documentary survey and by conducting a survey of librarians and students on the categories of management, effectiveness, satisfaction levels, reading activities and reading motivation factors. An analysis of the survey results yielded the following suggestions for improvement: there should be a recommended books selection, a separate budget for a diverse reward system and more reading activities for students with low participation levels. I hope the results of this paper will be used as a reference when implementing the Reading Certification System in elementary schools, and that it will be an opportunity in changing perspective when applying the system.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status and condition of continuing education to improve professionalism of school library and to suggest ways to improve continuing education. The survey was conducted for 69 librarians and school librarians teachers in elementary, middle and high school libraries in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, and frequency analysis and cross analysis were conducted. The research results are as follows. First, the study found that librarians have a high interest in and participation in continuing education. Second, the type of continuing education with the highest percentage of participation was short-term training and training courses, and the link between educational content and practice was low. Third, managers' awareness needs to be improved, and regional constraints and the lack of suitable continuing education programs are the obstacles to continuing education. Fourth, preference for continuing education during working hours and vacation was emphasized. Through this, it was suggested that continuous and long-term continuing education, policy support for encouraging continuing education, development of continuing education courses for professionalism, manager's awareness call.

The purpose of this study was to identify the status of adolescents' user satisfaction with the 22 libraries of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and to improve the quality of information services for adolescents by improving the factors of dissatisfaction, and ultimately, to activate the use of young adults in the libraries of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. In addition, in the transition to the digital age, it was attempted to investigate the use of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Digital Library in the context of the inevitable change of reading media. Through this, this study suggested planning a reading program that could arouse adolescents' interest and reflect new information technologies, improving the scope and system of e-book services, linking with school libraries, and restructuring library' space.
