A Study for Analyzing the Outcome of the Accreditation System of the Extracurriculum: Focused on the Case of K University (비교과 인증제 성과 분석 연구: K 대학의 사례를 중심으로)

  • Competency cannot be transformed as knowledge, so the operation of competency-based curriculum requires support from the extracurriculum that gives many opportunities practical experience. Therefore, many universities establish the own extracurricular courses by using much financial, human, and physical infrastructure. However, it is doubtful whether the extracurriculum is effective on cultivating competencies, what kinds of programs is useful to nurture right abilities, how to assess the outcome of implementing of the extracurriculum. For these reason, the accreditation system, that awards to student who accomplish certain programs based on the given standard, has been used as the tool to manage outcome achieved by the extracurriculum. This study aimed to investigate the outcome of the accreditation system of K university in order to verify its effectiveness for cultivating competencies through the extracurriculum. Through the analysis of prior research, it could be inferred that students who achieved the accreditation system would be able to cultivate relevant competencies, improve major abilities, and instill a positive image of related administrative departments while participating in various programs. Thus, this study collected data of those who achieved the accreditation and did not by participating at least once in extracurricular program from March 2020 to February 2021 to compare their results of the diagnosis of core competencies and student circumstances, and survey of educational satisfaction and interpreted interviews of 10 students, excellent certifier. As a result, it was verified that the more evenly participating in various programs to achieve the accreditation system, the more diverse competency was obtained, and the satisfaction with the student support department and major education was improved.

  • In the modern artificial intelligence society, the goal of education is to cultivate convergent talents who can adapt well to and lead the artificial intelligence society. The core competency required of convergent future talents is to be able to understand and create software well. In this respect, algorithmic education is very important. Therefore, in this study, an algorithm education program was developed to improve convergent thinking ability. The effectiveness was verified through the paired samples t-test by conducting a pre-post test of convergent thinking ability, and it was found that students' convergent thinking ability was significantly improved in the areas of algorithm knowledge and function.

  • In the existing curriculum of the Elementary computer Education emphasizes students' problem-solving ability and knowledge of informatics. However, current computer education focus on using application program. In order to raise students' problem-solving ability and logical thinking ability, it is necessary to learning about computer science education. Thereupon, this study applied unplugged learning method to the elementary student. To apply the play-based unplugged learning method to the area of information representation. As a result, unplugged learning method produced higher academic achievement than the lecture model. Also it was more positive in the affective area than the lecture model.

A study on the Effects of a Drama Education Program Focused on Empathy and Prosocial Behavior Skills for Middle School Students (교육연극을 활용한 학교폭력예방 프로그램이 중학생의 공감능력 및 친사회적 행동에 미치는 효과에 관한 연구)

  • The research was conducted to investigate the effect of drama education on the empathy and prosocial behavior abilities of middle school students. A total of 45 students participated in this study. Data were obtained through the use of the IRI(Interpersonal Reactivity Index) and the prosocial behavior scales. Those scales were administered to the group of students as a pre-test. Then, drama education was provided for 14 weeks for the group. The same scale was applied again to the group as a post test once the drama education was completed. The t-test on the differences between pre- and post test scores was used to analyze the effects of the program. The results showed that drama education had a statistically significant effect on the empathy and prosocial behavior abilities of students in the group. Finally, this study suggested implications for future performance arts education programs.

Development of Indentation Training System for Pulse Diagnosis (맥진 가압 트레이닝 시스템 개발)

  • Although the pulse diagnosis is the one of the most important diagnostic process to traditional medical doctors, there is no proper communication tool between experts and trainees. In this paper, we have developed a indentation training system which consists of a hardware measuring indent pressure on artificial arm quantitatively and a software providing a indentation training program. The hardware for measurement of indent pressure profile includes 3 load cells embedded in the artificial arm, signal amplification part and digitization part, NI-USB 6009 with 200Hz sampling rate. For setting up a relationship table between weights and output voltages, 8 standard weights were used. To evaluate this hardware, 3 oriental medical specialists were involved and their indent pressure profile were recorded three times respectively. From these, it was found that pulse diagnosis process could be divided into 3 periods and the maximum load were $500g{\cdot}f$ approximately while doctors perform a pulse diagnosis. The indentation training program was implemented with LabView and designed to monitor the differences between the pressure profile of a expert and that of a trainee so to offer some visual feedback to the trainee. Also, this program could provide the trends of training performances. With this developed system, the education of pulse diagnosis is expected to be more quantitative and effective.

  • In this paper, we propose a study to develop and apply competency-based elementary school teacher training programs for maker education according to the steps of the DACUM-based Systematic Curriculum and Instructional Development (SCID) procedure model. According to the stages of the DACUM-based SCID (Systematic Curriculum and Instructional Development) procedure model, the educational goals, contents, objects, time, methods, and prerequisite subjects of the maker education training program were derived, and based on this, a competency-based training program was developed. In addition, the effectiveness of the program was verified by applying the developed program. As a result of applying the developed training program and evaluating its effectiveness, it was confirmed that overall positive results were found. We expect this training program to be of help in strengthening the competency of elementary school teachers in maker education.

  • In elementary school software education, a programming process is experienced through a simple problem solving process. And even this experience emphasizes that the problem-solving process is a CS Unplugged activity. However, CS Unplugged has a disadvantage in that it only learns the principles of computing, and the learner cannot experience real problem solving. In this study, a learning program using artificial intelligence robots was developed with the goal of cultivating the ability to solve problems encountered in the real life of elementary school students. Students could solve complex problems in real life from the point of view of artificial intelligence through the developed program, and increase their interest and understanding of artificial intelligence education through robot control.

Study for Mathematics App development for Senior (스마트 기기 활용 시니어 수학 자료 개발 연구)

  • This study is part of app development research based on user centered design which targets silver generation learners. The mathematical contents provided by Senior math application focus on Numeracy issues. In order to finalize the user interface and the mathematical contents which is for developing the mathematic application, teaching experiment was carried out through 9 senior learners. Also CIPP program evaluation model was used for monitoring the result of this teaching experiment. Factors such as 'educational objectives' 'requirement analysis' 'educational environment' 'curriculum' 'learning content' 'learning matter' 'interaction' 'program administration' 'supporting environment' 'satisfaction' 'study result' 'substantiality of learning' were checked and as a result the Senior Mathematic application was developed through these feedbacks.

Elements and Implications of Social and Emotional Learning in the Home Economics Education Curriculum (가정과 교육과정에 담긴 사회정서학습 요소 및 시사점)

  • This study focuses on Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) as a theoretical perspective to provide education that enables adolescent students to understand themselves, establish healthy relationships with others, and form a healthy community. The meaning of learning and core competencies were analyzed. Results showed that the core competencies of SEL were all included in the nature, goals, subject competencies, core concepts, generalized knowledge, and achievement standards of the 2015 revised Home Economics Education (HEE) Curriculum. The implications for this are: First, the core competencies of SEL can be sufficiently cultivated through explicit education in HE classes without introducing a separate SEL program in the school field. Second, since HEE is a subject that emphasizes practice, the competencies of SEL can be applied in connection with actual life outside of school. Lastly, the effectiveness of SEL can be increased through HEE because the goals of SEL, which emphasize the connection between parents and the creation of healthy and safe community, are similar to the goals of HEE.

  • 본 연구는 공업계 고등학교에서 효율적인 로봇교육을 위하여 로봇에 관심과 흥미가 있는 학생들을 대상으로 로봇 동아리를 조직하고, 경진대회용 배틀 로봇을 제작하는 데 필요한 교육과정을 개발하였다. 이를 위해 첫째로 국내외 경진 대회와 문헌 고찰을 통해 다소 모호한 용어인 배틀 로봇을 정의하고, 에듀테인먼트 로봇으로 구분하였으며, 공업계 고등학교에서 배틀 로봇 제작이 갖는 교육적 활용가치를 탐색하였다. 둘째, '2007년 개정' 교육과정 중에서 '로봇 기초'와 '로봇 제작' 교육과정의 성격과 목표를 분석하였고, 셋째, 배틀 로봇 제작 교육과정을 개발하기 위해 로봇 동아리를 실험대상으로3라운드에 걸친 실험연구를 통해 공업계 고등학교 로봇 동아리 프로그램 적용에 의한 배틀 로봇 제작에 적합한 교육과정을 개발하였다. 로봇이 미래의 기술로 주목받게 됨에 따라 우리나라에서도 로봇 교육이 활성화되고 있는 지금, 배틀 로봇 제작이 학생들에게 체험 교육의 도구가 될 뿐 만 아니라, 공업계 고등학교에서 다루는 로봇 교과목 및 이와 관련된 전문 교과목의 교육효과를 극대화할 수 있는 도구가 될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
