Design of the Efficient Multiplier based on Dual Basis (듀얼기저에 기초한 효율적인 곱셈기 설계)

  • This paper proposes the constructing method of effective multiplier using basis transformation. Th proposed multiplier is composed of the standard-dual basis transformation circuit module to change one input into dual basis the operation module to generate from bm to bm+k by the m degree irreducible polynomial, and the polynomial multiplicative module to consist of $m^2$ AND and m(m-1) EX-OR gates. Also, the dual-standard basis transformation circuit module to change the output part to be shown as a dual basis into standard basis is composed. The operation modules to need in each operational part are defined.

A Study on the Estimation of Base Flow Using Base Flow Separation in the Daichung Dam Basin (대청댐유역의 기저유출분리를 통한 기저유량 산정에 관한 연구)

  • This study estimates the baseflow using the separation of daily streamflow hydrograph. For the separation of hydrograph, we used standard method. This method was presented by Institute of Hydrology in 1980. For the estimation of baseflow, we estimated the parameters of model using the relation of the catchment properties and the baseflow index. The baseflow is estimated by the results of the separation of daily streamflow hydrograph and is estimated 20.0%∼39.4%. Baseflow rates is high for larger catchments but low for smaller catchments. As the results of this study, there is no relation between rainfall and baseflow rates.

  • In this paper, it is studied to remove the baseline wander and to minimize the distortion of ST segment in the noise filtering of ECG. In general, the standard filter and adaptive filter are used to remove the baseline wander of the ECG. But the standard filter is limited because the frequency of the baseline signal is variable and the apative filter is difficult to select the reference signal in case of using the adaptive filter. So we proposed a new method of the structure without reference signal using neural networks. To be convinced of the performance of this method, we used ECG data of MIT-BIHs. and obtained the result of the high performance,(-53.3[dB]) than standard filter(-16.3[dB]) and adaptive filter (-44.9[dB]).

The Design of GF(2m) Parallel Multiplier using data select methodology (데이터 선택방식에 의한 GF(2m)상의 병렬 승산기 설계)

  • In this paper, the new multiplicative algorithm using standard basis over GF(2m) is proposed. The multiplicative process is simplified by data select method in proposed algorithm. After multiplicative operation, the terms of degree greater than m can be expressed as a polynomial of standard basis with degree less than m by irreducible polynomial. For circuit implementation of proposed algorithm, we design the circuit using multiplexer and show the example over GF(24). The proposed architectures are regular and simple extension for m. Also, the comparison result show that the proposed architecture is more simple than privious multipliers. Therefore, it well suited for VLSI realization and application other operation circuits.

Median HRIR Customization via Principal Components Analysis (주성분 분석을 이용한 HRIR 맞춤 기법)

  • A principal components analysis of the entire median HRIRs in the CIPIC HRTF database reveals that the individual HRIRs can be adequately reconstructed by a linear combination of several orthonormal basis functions. The basis functions represent the inter-individual and inter-elevation variations in median HRIRs. There exist elevation-dependent tendencies in the weights of basis functions, and the basis functions can be ordered according to the magnitude of standard deviation of the weights at each elevation. We propose a HRIR customization method via tuning of the weights of 3 dominant basis functions corresponding to the 3 largest standard deviations at each elevation. Subjective listening test results show that both front-back reversal and vertical perception can be improved with the customized HRIRs.

  • This paper shows an implementation of the baseband processor compliant with the IEEE 802.11a standard. Some innovative techniques are proposed to fulfill the mandatory requirements of the standard. For verification and analysis of this design, we use a Platform-based SoC (system on chip) environment. The entire system consists of test-board for the baseband processor chip and the SoC platform for implementing MAC (medium access control).

  • In this paper, it is designed and verified the baseband system that performs various protocol functions of specification of the Bluetooth system. In order to verify the developed circuits, various baseband functions are tested by using the ModelSim simulator. The developed circuits operate at 4MHz main clock. Test suite includes hap selection function, generation of the sync word, error correction(1/3 rate FEC, 2/3 rate FEC), HEC generation/checking, CRC generation/checking, data whitening/dewhitening and packet trans/reception procedure. etc. As a result of the simulation, it is verified that the developed baseband system conform to the specification of the Bluetooth system.

A Study on Design of High-Speed Parallel Multiplier over GF(2m) using VCG (VCG를 사용한 GF(2m)상의 고속병렬 승산기 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we present a new type high speed parallel multiplier for performing the multiplication of two polynomials using standard basis in the finite fields GF($2^m$). Prior to construct the multiplier circuits, we design the basic cell of vector code generator(VCG) to perform the parallel multiplication of a multiplicand polynomial with a irreducible polynomial and design the partial product result cell(PPC) to generate the result of bit-parallel multiplication with one coefficient of a multiplicative polynomial with VCG circuits. The presented multiplier performs high speed parallel multiplication to connect PPC with VCG. The basic cell of VCG and PPC consists of one AND gate and one XOR gate respectively. Extending this process, we show the design of the generalized circuits for degree m and a simple example of constructing the multiplier circuit over finite fields GF($2^4$). Also, the presented multiplier is simulated by PSpice. The multiplier presented in this paper uses the VCGs and PPCS repeatedly, and is easy to extend the multiplication of two polynomials in the finite fields with very large degree m, and is suitable to VLSL.

Design of Iterative Divider in GF(2163) Based on Improved Binary Extended GCD Algorithm (개선된 이진 확장 GCD 알고리듬 기반 GF(2163)상에서 Iterative 나눗셈기 설계)

  • In this paper, we first propose a fast division algorithm in GF($2^{163}$) using standard basis representation, and then it is mapped into divider for GF($2^{163}$) with iterative hardware structure. The proposed algorithm is based on the binary ExtendedGCD algorithm, and the arithmetic operations for modular reduction are performed within only one "while-statement" unlike conventional approach which uses two "while-statement". In this paper, we use reduction polynomial $f(x)=x^{163}+x^7+x^6+x^3+1$ that is recommended in SEC2(Standards for Efficient Cryptography) using standard basis representation, where degree m = 163. We also have implemented the proposed iterative architecture in FPGA using Verilog HDL, and it operates at a clock frequency of 85 MHz on Xilinx-VirtexII XC2V8000 FPGA device. From implementation results, we will show that computation speed of the proposed scheme is significantly improved than the existing two approaches.

  • APEX(Agricultural Policy Enviromental eXtender) 모형은 일 단위로 구동되며 필지단위 및 소유역 단위에서의 흐름을 장기 모의를 할 수 있는 모형이다. APEX는 유출을 포함한 토양 침식, 탄소 이동 등 다양한 자연현상을 모의할 수 있는 모형이다. 강우에 의한 직접유출량을 APEX를 이용하여 산정할 수 있지만, 모델링 과정에서 발생하는 불확실성으로 인하여 부정적인 요인이 발생한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 APEX 모형의 유출 매개변수를 이용한 불확실성을 평가하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 금강권역에서 표준유역으로 분류되어있는 한천 유역에 대해 2008~2019년도 유출량을 모의하였으며, 검증을 위해 동일기간에 대해 기저유출분리를 수행하였다. 불확실성 평가를 위해서 Python 기반으로 사전분포로부터 매개변수를 임의로 선택하도록 설정하여 총 10,000번의 구동을 수행하였다. 불확실성 평가지표로는 NSE, PBIAS, RSR을 이용하여 평가하여 평가지표별 불확실성 구간을 비교분석 하였다. 본 연구에서의 APEX 모형의 불확실성 평가를 통하여 APEX의 활용성을 더욱 확대하고 신뢰성을 높일 것으로 기대한다.
