The purposes of this paper were to provide the basic segments of qualitative research to assist the understanding of qualitative research and to provide implications of indicators (i.e., criteria) to determine the rigor of the qualitative research in the area of Adapted Physical Education (APE). This paper was divided into five sub-categories to facilitate understanding the qualitative research, which were (a) the epistemological stances, (b) the data collection methods (c) the data analysis (d) the trustworthiness and (e) the implications of Adapted Physical Activity Taxonomy (APAT) in APE. Qualitative researchers deliver their understanding of human experience and knowledge by means of text rather than number so their explanations and understanding tend be subjective and distinct from otherwise interpretaotherwise (Crotty, 1998; Pitney& Parker, 2009). Examining the rigor of qualitative research is therefore concerned due to the complexity of understanding of reality (Goodwin 2020; Zitomer & Goodwin, 2014). In the meantime the roles of qualitative research have been highlighted in educational research including the area of APE because qualitative research enables researchers to examine different voices of school members (e.g., students with and without disabilities parents teachers Goodwin, 2020; Hodge et al., 2019; Zitomer & Goodwin, 2014).

The purpose of this study was to develop Home Economics(HE) teaching and learning process plans applied Problem Based Learning(PBL) focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit for students with intellectual disability and to evaluate the effects of the HE instruction on their food choice·management knowledge and problem-solving skills after implementing the instruction for students with intellectual disability. To develop HE teaching and learning process plans applied PBL focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit for students with intellectual disability, problems that arise in daily life to trigger interest of students were firstly developed. The selected problems and teaching and learning process plans were reviewed for validity by one home economics education professor and three teachers who are experts in special education. This study used the one group pretest and posttest design, sampling 6 students who are in special-education middle school with the intellectual disability. After HE instruction of 6 sessions applied PBL method, this study tested the effects of the instruction. The first three sessions taught how to choose and keep food. The fourth session taught purchasing food ingredients and keeping them for sandwiches. The fifth and sixth sessions let the students make sandwiches and give them to others. The instruments of the study comprised of tools for food choice and management knowledge, tools for problem-solving skills evaluation, self-evaluation sheets, evaluation form of course satisfaction for students, evaluation form of behavior in class for teachers, and daily observation journal and all tools. These instruments were proved to have reliability and validity. The results of this study are as follows. First, all six students who took HE instruction applied PBL method focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit scored 30 points higher out of 100 points after taking the instruction in food choice and management knowledge and scored 5 points higher out of 14 points in problem-solving skills on average. Therefore, it was interpreted that HE instruction applied PBL affected the food choice·management knowledge and the problem solving skills of students with intellectual disability. Secondly, the students with intellectual disability participated actively in HE instruction applied PBL focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit and expressed satisfaction. Three special education experts evaluated HE teaching·learning process plans applied PBL focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit to be well-developed. This study showed that HE instruction applied PBL focusing on 'food and nutrition' unit allowed the students with intellectual disability to acquire comprehensive skills in choosing, keeping, and making safe food and helped them solve problems of their life by themselves. Therefore I suggest that Home Economics should be adopted as a formal subject matter in special school curriculum for students with intellectual disability.

In this study, we explored the meaning of science education in an inclusive education setting tram the view of the epistemological approach, and discussed the principles and theories for constructing an educational program. Also, we explored the possibility of inclusive education in science education by suggesting principles for practice: accommodating science curriculum macroscopically, adapting science curriculum microscopically, considering diversity in science instruction, sharing the differences in science teaching and learning, and restructuring the assessment system in science education. We also reviewed the case on learning basic concepts in optics for the visually impaired according to the principles discussed. In conclusion, we discussed the considerations for the practice of inclusive education in science education and inferred further research problems.
The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of blended learning on abilities to use smart-phone and applications among students with intellectual disabilities. To do this, 30 students with intellectual disabilities who were enrolled in special school and special classroom in Jellanam-do and Gwanju metropolitan city were selected for this study, and were placed experimental and control groups of 15 students. The experimental group was provided with blended learning in which direct instruction, anchored instruction, experience activities, and community-based instruction were combined, and the control group was provided with traditional teacher-centered lecture style intervention. Pre-, post-, and maintenance evaluations were conducted two weeks after intervention. The collected data was analyzed the repeated two-way ANOVA. In the result of study, the experimental group improved on abilities to use smart-phone and applications than control group. Blended learning is a teaching method that can be a usefully used when educating how to use smart-phone and applications to students with intellectual disabilities.
The purpose of the study is intended to analysis on students adjustment of students with disabilities in a special class of the elementary school focused on KCI journals through a systematic review. This study was searched from papers published from Jan, 2004 to May, 2014 using KISS, DBPIA, RISS, Google databases. The key words were "inclusive education, special class, inclusive class, student with disabilities, school adjustment, school life, school adjustment scale, elementary school". Results of data analysis were follows; 1. A total of 35 papers were analyzed. Except for 6 papers published in 2004~2007, 29 papers were published after 2008.; 2. The participant of study subject was total 141. Students with intellectual disability were 61.7%. Students with learning disabilities were 17.0%.; 3. The assessment domain of study was analyzed total 51 data.; academic achievement and task performance (25.4%), class attitude and participatory behavior(23.5%), problem behavior(21.5%). The Study in student with intellectual disability was 10 assessment domains.; 4. The method of assessment was total 41.; the use of operational definition(56.1%), the development of test (17.1%), and the use of assessment tool(14.6%).
The purpose of this study is to specify the procedure for making item models based on ontology models using automatic item generation in the mathematics subject through the CAFA system, and to explore the generated item instances. As an illustration for this, an item model was designed as a part of formative assessment based on the content characteristics, including concepts and calculations, and process characteristics, including application, using the representative values and the measures of dispersion in Mathematics of the 9th grade based on the evaluation criteria achievement standards. The item types generated in one item model were a best answer type, a correct answer type, a combined-response type, an incomplete statement type, a negative type, a true-false type, and a matching type. It was found that HTML, Google Charts, TTS, figures, videos and so on can be used as media. The implications of the use of digital evaluation based on automatic item generation were suggested in the aspects of students, pre-service teachers, general teachers, and special education, and the limitations of this study and future research directions were presented.
The purpose of this study was to explore and better understand special education music teachers' perceptions of their music curriculum. For this purpose, we conducted a focus group interview with seven special education music teachers. During the interview, four major themes and 14 sub-themes were identified. The main themes were the following: (a) types of applied activities and the goals of music classes (e.g., activities to be applied in various ways depending on the characteristics of the disability and intended outcome), (b) difficulty in implementing the music curriculum (e.g., lack of fit between textbook and students' chronological ages, lack of time and focus, self-evaluation of performance as a music teacher, (c) therapeutic experiences during music classes (e.g., expectation for positive effects through music therapy, joy of witnessing changes in students, and sense of togetherness), and (d) obstacles to the therapeutic approach of music classes and need for support (e.g., lack of professional knowledge regarding therapeutic approaches and problems with administrators and school environment). Based on these results, problems in implementing the music therapy approach as part of the music curriculum in special education schools are discussed and practical solutions for educators are offered.

In 2005, there was a partial revision of the Act on the Promotion of Education for the Handicapped people, so that students with health impairments would be able to receive special education support. Since the amendment of the bill, to support them classified into weak people in education, education support systems have been proposed and settled so that they may receive the support for free. According to the pre-study, after the amendment of this bill, there has been many studies on the form of educational service to support them, and recently, there have been a lot of researches to investigate their satisfaction with the current services and draw its problems. And yet these studies have been carried out by the preceeding researchers at the drawing of problems, but have a limitation to present fundamental countermeasures to the problems. Therefore, this study attempted to understand the meaning of health impairment through the pre-study and investigate the forms of the services currently supporting them and analyze the problem of each service. In addition, to solve the identified problems, a new support system was proposed. In order to confirm the performance of the system, we design the user satisfaction survey composed of a Likert 5-point scale per each question, and to make the task, comparing stories and clapping for increasing quality of their subjective evaluation about the image and voice transmission when the user uses it. As a result, in the overall evaluation of the robot system, the average score of each question was recorded to 4.31 points, and through the two tasks, it was found that there were effective data transmission of image and voice.

The monthly average number of students utilizing school nursing room was 71 per school, annual utilization times of school nursing room was 4.4 per student and utilization due to injury was prevalent by 26.6% and there is some differences in using the school nursing room according to disabled area. Rate of referral to medical facilities was 1.4%. The leading reason of referral to medical facilities was high fever among those who have visual handicaps, fracture among those who have emotional disturbance, injury by trauma among others. Nine hundred fifty six students of students in special school surveyed have sufferd from epilepsy and prevalence rate of epilepsy was 6.4%. Only 22.6% of respondents replied that they had physical examination more than 2 times per year. Out of respnodents, 98.7% answered that they had health education and 67.1% of them ansered that they educated in a classroom, 98.7% of respondents emphasized need of sex education. Respondents put the most emphasis on the personal hygiene when they performed health education and they used broadcasting education in the area of visual handicaps, OHP or VTR in hearing handicaps, home correspondence or OHP VTR in other area importantly. About 47% of repondents answered that health education was the most difficult and they emphasized that definite guide on health management was requested. Respondents had self-confidence and high perfomance rate in most of school-nurses' services completely, but so they was not in area of evaluation of school health programmes, an examination of physical strength, evaluation of health education, management of school purification area, suture of wounds. In consideration of above findings, we may conclude that special education for school-nurse in special schools as well as improvement of definite guiding principles are requested to establish direction for health management in special schools and to improve the degree of quality for school-nurses' sevices in special schools.
