The Influence of Pair Programming on 4Cs Improvement in Middle School Informatics (중학교 정보교과에서 짝 프로그래밍이 4Cs 향상에 미치는 영향)

  • A model of cooperative learning, Pair Programming was applied to regular class for middle school students. Algorithm and programming skill were taught through the pair programming for two week and the achievement was analyzed based on 4Cs(Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Creativity) proposed by the NEA(National Education Association). The control group was statistically significant on Critical Thinking between pre-test and post-test1, while the experimental group was statistically significant on all measurements of 4Cs. Between pre-test and post-test2, the control group showed overall little difference in range of 0.2 points on the 4Cs average scores. while the experimental group was statistically significant on all measurements of 4Cs. Between post-test1 and post-test2, there was no significant difference on 4Cs average scores in both groups. The experimental group showed higher score results on all 4Cs than the control group. This study verifies that the benefits of Pair Programming on 4Cs.

Effects of STEAM(Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Mathematics) Activities on Young Children's Scientific Process Skill Ability and Problem Solving Ability (STEAM(융합인재교육)활동이 유아의 과학과정기술과 문제해결력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was examine the effects of STEAM(Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-mathematics) activities on young children's scientific process skill ability and problem solving ability. Subjects were 34 five-year-old young children from S and H child care centers located in G city. Subjects were divided into an experimental(n=17) and a control group(n=17). The experimental group took part in the STEAM activities during 8 weeks, while the control group took part in the traditional science activities. The procedure for this study consisted of a pre-study, a pre-test, the treatment, and a post-test schedule. The results of this study were as follows: First, the experimental group showed significantly higher score than the control group in total scientific process skill ability. Second, the experimental group showed significantly higher score than the control group in total problem solving ability. These findings suggest that the experience of STEAM activities for young children can be effective teaching-learning methods for young children's scientific process skill ability and problem solving ability.

Effects of Mobile Task Information Presentation using 3D Multimedia on Tooth Carving Knowledge, Performance and Class Satisfaction for Dentistry (3차원 멀티미디어를 활용한 모바일 과제정보 제시가 치아카빙에 관한 지식, 수행 및 수업만족도에 미치는 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mobile task information presentation using 3D multimedia on tooth carving knowledge, performance and class satisfaction for dentistry. To accomplish this purpose, we divided 66 dental students into the two groups: The experimental group was presented with mobile task information using 3D modeling. and the control group was presented task information using textbook. As a result for the study, First, Mobile task information presentation using 3D multimedia in class has significant effect on the tooth carving performance and class satisfaction. Second, tooth morphology knowledge in control group presenting task information using the text book showed relatively higher than in experimental group which presenting mobile task information using the 3D modeling. The conclusion of this study is that the class presenting mobile task information using 3D modeling can be enhances class satisfaction and, teaching and learning strategy to improve tooth carving performance.

  • The purpose of this research is to distinguish the effect of children's multicultural educational program in the daily life schedule that is integrated in Nuri-programme on children's multicultural acceptance and pro social behavior. Subjects were 4-year-old children from Gyounggi-do A city separated into anexperimental group and acontrol group. Both groups werepre tested. After conducting a program for 44 times, the data was collected using visual resources and instruction considering 4-year-old children's ability to read. In conclusion, the experimental group educated with children's multicultural program showed higher multicultural acceptance. These show that multicultural education affect pro-social behavior.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of linguistic activity on young children's Creativity by applying an linguistic activity, one of the major realm of Project Spectrum, to experimental group. The following research task was established for this study. What effect does the linguistic activity through Project Spectrum on children's Creativity? The participants of this study were 80 of 5-year-old young children in two groups. They were divided and assigned into two groups, an experimental group(26 boys and 14 girls) and a control group(22 boys and 18 girls). While the experimental group was engaged in the Project Spectrums linguistic activities for 15 weeks, the control group was engaged in kindergarten curriculum linguistic activities. It was revealed that Creativity through Project Spectrum of experimental group had much influence on children's linguistic ability than control group in every field (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) by developing and applying detailed criteria for Creativity for this study.

The Effects of Motivation Improvement Program for Underachieved Students (학습부진 대학생을 위한 학습동기 향상 프로그램의 효과 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to validate the effectiveness of academic motivation improvement program for underachieved students. Participants in the program consisted of 14 sophomores and senior. They were randomly assigned to either the experimental group(n=7) or the control group(n=7). To analysis the effectivness, matched pair t-test and independent t-test. The programs offered 6times. The results are follows. First, for the experimental group that took part in motivation improvement program, there was a increase in self-esteem. But the improvement was not significant. Second, for the experimental group that took part in motivation improvement program, there was a significant decrease in academic amotivation. Third, the experimental group showed a more significant decrease in academic amotivation. Finally, the significance and limitations of this study and suggestions for future research were presented.

  • This study distinguished game use groups by considering adaptive game use and maladaptive game use of middle school students at the same time, and analyzed the difference in lack of self-control, peer-support, and game usage by group. To this end, the data of 287 middle school students was analyzed in the Game User Panel Survey(5th year) of the KOCCA. As a result of the cluster analysis, the game use groups were divided into the high level coexist group, the adaptive use group, and the normal group. The three groups showed the gap of lack of self-control, peer-support, and game usage.

The Influence of Hypothetical Deductive Experiment upon Students' Views on the Nature of Science (가설 연역적 탐구 실험 수업이 학생들의 과학의 본성에 대한 관점에 미치는 영향)

  • We investigated the effects of hypothetical deductive experiment on students' views about the nature of science (NOS). Participants were 212 eighth graders from a middle school and they were assigned to a control group and an experimental group. Students of the control group did guided experiment in small group and students of the experimental group did hypothetical deductive experiment in small group. The results revealed that both students of the control group and the experimental group possessed similar views about NOS in a pretest. But the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about the theory of dependance of observation, scientific reasoning and hypothesis in the posttest. Students who used mainly surface learning strategy within the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about hypothesis in the posttest. On the other hand, students who used mainly deep learning strategy within the experimental group exhibited more sophisticated views about the theory of dependance of observation, scientific reasoning and hypothesis in the posttest.

A Study on the Effects of the Home-Linked Indirect Smoking Prevention Program for Early Childhood (유아기 간접흡연예방 가정연계교육 프로그램의 효과)

  • This study was conducted to prove the effectiveness of home-linked indirect smoking prevention education in early childhood in improving the awareness, skills, attitudes and willingness to protect themselves from smoking. 208 5-year-old children were recruited from three kindergartens located in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Children in the experimental group received home-linked indirect smoking prevention education. Children in the comparative group, received indirect smoking prevention education in kindergarten. Children in the control group received general health education. The results revealed that all groups showed significant differences between pretest and posttest in awareness of second-smoke, attitudes and willingness to stop smoking. However, the skills to protect oneself from second-smoke showed a significant difference in the experimental group and the comparative group. The values of changes among the groups showed high increases in the order of experimental, comparative, and control groups. This shows that home-linked education had considerable positive effects on indirect smoking prevention.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공항 세금 환급시스템의 혁신적 특성과 중국인 탑승객의 개인 통제신념이 수용 의도에 미치는 영향을 규명하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 계획된 행동이 세금환급을 받으려는 의도에 미치는 영향에 대해 이론적으로 고찰하고 분석하였다. 공항에서 세금환급시스템을 이용한 경험이 있는 중국인 탑승객 343명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 실증 분석 결과, 시스템 혁신적 특성에서 상대적 이점, 적합성 및 복잡성이 높고, 인식된 위험이 낮을수록, 개인 통제신념에서 행동신념, 규범신념 및 통제신념이 높을수록 이용자의 수용의도가 높은 것으로 판명되었다. 이용자 채택 단계에 따른 수용 의도 간의 차이를 분석한 결과, 초기 수용자 집단이 후기 수용자 집단보다 수용 의도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이용자의 채택 단계에 따라 수용 의도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 차이가 있었는데, 초기 수용자 집단에서는 시스템 혁신적 특성 중 적합성과 개인 통제신념이 중요한 변수였으며, 후기 수용자 집단에서는 시스템 혁신 특성 중 인식된 위험과 규범신념을 제외한 개인의 통제신념이 중요한 변수로 분석되었다. 따라서 공항 세금 환급시스템에 대한 초기 수용자들에게는 더 많은 확신을 줄 필요가 있으며, 후기 수용자들에게는 지각된 위험을 감소시켜 주어야 할 것이다.
