A Study on the Effects of Vocational Competencies Related to Coffee-Related Private Certificates on Job Satisfaction and Utilization Intention - Survey For Coffee-Related Industry Workers- (커피관련 민간자격증에 관련된 직업기초능력이 직무수행 만족도와 활용 의도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 -커피관련 산업체 종사자 대상-)

  • This study is aimed to evaluate the satisfaction level and effective value in acquiring the coffee-related private certificates for purpose of development and growth of the coffee industry in Korea. Analysis had being made to investigate on which parts of the vocational competencies designated by National Competency Standard are developed by the coffee-related private certificates implemented in Korea and the effect of such certificates on the job satisfaction and intent to utilize are further elaborated. While technical ability, self-development ability, problem-solving ability had a positive (+) effect on overall job satisfaction. Further, job satisfaction of vocational competencies had a positive (+) effect on the utilization intention. Through this study, it is found that the coffee barista private certificates have a considerable effect on the development of vocational competencies, improve the job satisfaction and are utilized as a material evaluating ability scales for recruitment and employment.

The Effects of Critical Thinking Disposition and Problem Solving Ability on the Work Performance Assessment of Dental Hygienists (치과위생사의 비판적 사고 성향과 문제 해결 능력이 직무 수행 능력에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to improve work performance conducted at an actual clinical site by determining the relationship among critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability, and work performance. In this study, 335 dental hygienists completed self-administered survey. Final analysis was conducted with a total of 331 responses, excluding 4 questionnaire with unreliable responses and non-responses. The results indicated that as the age, educational background, and work experience of the subjects increased, their critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability scores increased and were statistically significant. For work performance, average total score was high for age, educational background and work experience, but only age and work experience were statistically significant. Critical thinking disposition, problem solving ability and work performance of the subject were relevant, and all of them were significant. Work performance was also influenced indirectly by mediating problem solving ability in critical thinking disposition. In other words, both direct and indirect effects were significant, and the existence of partial moderating effect was verified. Thus, in order to improve work performance of dental hygienists, a multilevel educational process that can simultaneously improve critical thinking disposition and problem solving ability of dental hygienists needs to be developed. Therefore, it is expected that the new dental hygiene company will be able to perform without any sense of disparity in the clinical field; this will solve the gap between dental hygiene education and practical skills.

Effect of the Component of Professionalism and Critical Thinking Disposition on Job Competency

  • This study examined the effects of professionalism and critical thinking disposition on job competency in nursing service workers. Furthermore, we explored the interactive impact of critical thinking disposition in terms of component factors in the relationship between the influence of professionalism on job performance. Our research results were as follows. First, we found that the self-concept of the profession and originality of the job in the professional view has a significant effect on job performance. Second, we discovered that systematicity and objectivity in the critical thinking disposition significantly affect job performance. Third, we found an interaction effect between each component of professionalism and critical thinking disposition. This study is significant because it is approached from the perspective of components of professionalism and the critical thinking disposition to improve job performance. In addition, the results of this study will contribute to the management of professionalism and essential dispositions of thinking to enhance nursing service workers' job performance.

  • Automotive field specialist developed National Competency Standards for Automotive Maintenance to apply for the education and evaluation of automotive maintenance. National Competency Standards scope and system for Automotive Maintenance has been developed and provided Performance Criterion, knowledge, skill, attitude, and evaluation methods for each item. Also it has provided vocational basic knowledge level and qualification frame for automotive maintenance.

  • National Competency Standards(NCS) development related researches on the semiconductor industry were carried out partially, but the field training demand survey and analysis using that NCS were not done. The past demand survey for the job skill training had focused on personnel shortage and oversupply so it has the problems called skill mismatch. This study has the purpose to provide an alternative analysis of qualitative evaluation using the relative importance and gap of the job skill elements in the semiconductor industry. As research methods, we carried out related literature and report review, and a job skill demand survey on the semiconductor industry. We analyzed about the industry related jobs and job tasks, the qualitative demand for each job skill elements, and procurement methods for each job skills and manpower. We illustrated some related training courses to find out a relevant way for supplying the training programs.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a suggestion to improve speciality and job performance of social work case management using importance-performance-analysis(IPA). A quantitative research design was used and data were collected from 209 social workers who are in charge of case manager job at Ulsan metropolitan area. Study participants were asked the recognition of importance-job competence and need for supervision-experience of social work case management job description on the NCS(9 competency units, 33 competency units). Descriptive analysis and IPA were performed. This study found the need for intensified job competence of 'building external operating systems' and 'development of resource linkage systems'. Also, it is necessary to provide intensive supervision for 'building an external and internal operating system.' Based on the results, future direction of intensified job performance for socla work case management was discussed.

Relations of Learner Satisfaction and Learning Performance with an Evaluation of Job Performance Abilities for NCS-based Courses in Collages (NCS기반 수업에서 직무수행능력 평가횟수와 학습만족도 및 학습성과와의 관련성)

  • This study focuses the relationships of job performance abilities with learner satisfaction and learning performance for NCS-based courses in colleges from instructors' perspectives. The results of this study show that the satisfaction of learners for NCS-based courses is statistically higher when learners are evaluated 3 times or more rather than twice or less. And also it reports that when 3 or more different evaluation methods are applied per evaluation of job performance ability, learner satisfaction is statistically higher. On the other hand, the performance of learners is turned out to be better with both evaluations of 3 times or more, and 3 or more different evaluation methods per job performance ability. However those results are not statistically meaningful. It concludes that from a view of process-based formative evaluation, evaluating job performance ability itself should be considered as an activity for improving teaching and learning in higher vocational education of colleges.

Perception of the importance and educational needs of job performance competency of National Competency Standards based vocational education curriculum in technical specialized high schools and meister high schools (NCS 기반 직업교육과정 도입에 따른 공업계열 특성화고·마이스터고 교사의 직무수행능력 중요도 및 교육적 요구에 대한 인식)

  • The study tried to investigate perception of the importance and educational needs of job performance competency of National Competency Standards based vocational education curriculum in technical specialized high schools and meister high schools. For this, the survey was conducted targeting 269 specialty subject teachers in technical specialized high schools and meister high schools. And the results are as follow: First, job performance competency were divided into 5 categories(curriculum guidance, school life guidance, class management, extraordinary activities and administrative duties) and 34 sub-categories. Second, higher importance values were curriculum guidance, extraordinary activities and school life guidance. Higher educational needs values were curriculum guidance, extraordinary activities and administrative duties in categories. Third, higher importance values were construction and reconstruction of NCS learning modules, organization and manage of NCS based vocational education curriculum, guide of the new laws and employment, student records manage, research activities of NCS, hands-on-background training, NCS projects in sub-categories. Fourth, the results show that the NCS experienced teachers more highly evaluated the importance and educational needs of the job performance competency than the NCS inexperienced teachers did.

The Influence of Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of 119 Paramedics on Job Performance Ability (119 구급대원의 직무스트레스, 직무만족도가 직무수행능력에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is a descriptive research study to determine the effect of job stress and job satisfaction of 119 paramedics on their job performance ability. The subjects were 119 paramedics working at the fire department who agreed to participate in the study, and data collection was conducted from July 1st to September 10th, 2020. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 program, with frequency and percentage, mean and standard deviation, correlation analysis, t-test, and ANOVA. As a result, the average job stress, job satisfaction, and job performance ability of 119 paramedics were 2.85±0.29 points, 3.35±0.30 points, and 3.53±0.89, respectively. A higher job satisfaction indicated higher job performance ability. An examination of the characteristics of the variables according to the general characteristics showed that the job performance ability was related significantly to the marital status, age, and first aid experience. Based on this, to establish a positive professional intuition to increase the job performance ability of 119 paramedics, lower job stress, and increases job satisfaction, it is important to raise awareness of job satisfaction, establish a job view, and promote job satisfaction through performance improvement.   • This research analyzes how operation system and method of barista private certification implemented in Korea influence on the academic satisfaction of coffee work skills and how such system and method has an effect on the economic effectiveness to utilize for the improvement of work performance skills and for job seeking and changing. For this purpose, author conducted a survey to coffee specialists who had obtained barista certification and who have been working in coffee related industry. The result shows that the operation system and method of coffee certification verification system has a partially positive effect on the academic satisfaction of work performance skills and economic effectiveness. The contents of the coffee related certification verification system as well as specialized and reliable systematic operation of such verification system have an influence on the academic satisfaction of work performance skills and have further influence on the economic effectiveness such as seeking or changing jobs. Therefore, the research on the professionalism and reliability of the qualification verification system must be continued.
