  • Businesses recognize the importance of empathy among members for achieving organizational goals. Accordingly, they have developed and implemented communication programs aimed at enhancing mutual understanding between the MZ generation and the older generation. However, recent communication programs conducted by businesses differ in that they involve compulsory participation driven by the organization. This study sought to empirically examine their effectiveness. Data was collected from 697 participants in communication programs to validate the proposed research model, which was empirically tested through regression analysis. The results of the analysis confirmed the effectiveness of communication programs even in non-voluntary situations and highlighted intergenerational perception differences. The findings of this study emphasize the significant role of communication and empathy within organizations. Consequently, they have impacted the development of communication strategies and culture within organizations, and are expected to provide theoretical and practical insights valuable to researchers and practitioners interested in intergenerational perception differences from a knowledge management perspective.

  • What is the impact of intercultural understanding and communication on a 'foreign' company's performance? We suggest that a firm's localization is a bilateral process requiring mutual understanding and respect of the foreign and indigenous cultures. To assess this argument, we investigate the relationship between mutual understanding (measured by power distance, communication satisfaction, and cross-cultural understanding) on organizational performance at Korean firms employing Indonesian workers in Indonesia. Survey and statistical results indicate that firm performance was negatively affected by power distance and positively affected by cross-cultural understanding. The results suggest a new perspective on enhancing the organization's performance for overseas operations. While it is necessary for Korean investors to understand local culture, educating local managers on Korean culture better enhances organizational performance.

For data collection, total 261 radiotechnologists, who work in Busan, took part in structured questionnaire survey. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS/PC+ Win 13 version. For verification of the differences among groups, one-way ANOVA was executed. For analyzing efficiency of system, which is affected by job stress, multiple regression analysis was taken. First, work stress classified by age group was found as the biggest stress factor among radiotechnologists in their 30s. Among radiotechnologists in their 20s, 40s and 50s, the biggest stress factor was communication problems. In terms of, job stress classified by division, no statistical difference was observed among groups. Second, as the result of system efficiency analysis, high values were found in organizational immersion and job satisfaction among radiotechnologists in their 20s and oncology division has the highest values in concentrating the system and job satisfaction. For this result, statistically significant differences were observed among groups. Third, in terms of the sub-factors of work stress, communication problem was found as the variable that exerted statistically significant impact to organizational effectiveness. However, no statistically significant differences were observed inadministrative and personal problems. Job stress decreases as communication within the organizations or communication with other divisions becomes more successful. In other words, system efficiency can be enhanced by decreasing conflicts within organization through successful communication.

  • Under ubiquitous work environment, innovative changes occur in work process with ICT. The work process for collaboration through mobile devices and network should be investigated. The research model consists of two major antecedents: autonomy and interdependence as a task characteristic and job satisfaction as ultimate consequence followed by work design theory. To elaborate work design theory, smartwork application (app) use, communication extent, and work-life balance were reviewed from the literature. Data were collected from three ICT firms, which adopted certain smartwork app, and a partial least squares analysis was made on 175 data points. The analysis results show that task interdependence exerts a statistically significant effect on the level of smartwork app usage. Communication extent directly affects job satisfaction and work-life balance. The remarkable point is that smartwork app usage does not affect employees' work-life balance; the former can only affect the latter indirectly by increasing communication extent. This study attempts to explain the organizational impact by considering smartwork app and the effects simultaneously. We proposed and empirically tested the extended work design theory including information technology and its environment. Based on the results, other theoretical and practical contributions are discussed at the end with limitations and further studies.

Among job satisfaction, higher self-esteem, superior and welfare system, communication, and satisfaction with colleagues showed higher organizational commitment. Self-esteem, supervisor and welfare system, communication, and co-worker factors were found to affect emotional commitment. Physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled pointed out dissonance between their boss and colleagues, poor working environment, salary problems, and excessive work as factors for turnover. In order to increase organizational commitment of physical therapists working in residential facilities for the disabled, it seems that respect for their work and improvement of relationships with superiors and colleagues are necessary.

  • This study is an experimental design study before and after an unequal control group to confirm the effect of the anesthesia nursing practice education program on the patient safety culture and organizational communication satisfaction of the perianesthesia nurse. Data was collected from 56 perianesthesia nurses nationwide through a questionnaire. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 27.0 program to analyze with descriptive statistics. As a result, the patient safety culture interaction between time and the experimental group (F=6.04, p=.017) and the organizational communication satisfaction score interaction were significant (F=4.97, p=.030). This study is of nursing significance in that a clinical practice education program for anesthesia nursing of perianesthesia nurses was developed and applied to the practical field. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to develop and apply various practical adaptation programs to improve the practical capabilities of working nurses in the PACU using rapidly developing medical equipment.

  • The chronic problems of Information System Outsourcing Development Project include frequent changes in the participants and their roles, and the evasion of project participation, which exert unfavorable influence to the outcome of the project. Such problems are due, in large part, to the low level of project participants' satisfaction in the project. However, little is known about the factors that influence project participants' satisfaction in the project development. This research identifies six potential factors such as project commitment, workload, control, communication within the organization, inter-organization communication, and system development methodology based on PMI(Project Management Institute) and empirically examines their efficacy in explaining the level of participants' satisfaction in the IS development projects based on data from 390 participants in 66 projects. The results indicate that the six factors are strong determinants of participants' satisfaction in system development projects. In other words, the level of satisfaction among project participants overall are largely influenced by project commitment and control, communication, project methodology. Especially, the results reveal that the level of satisfaction among participants from the vendor decreased largely by unrealistic project commitment, frequent changes in project planning and unreasonable control rather than by a significant amount of workload. In conclusion, there need to be a rational approach and solution based on the six factors presented in this research in order to increase participation satisfaction level of the project participants and ultimately enhance project outcome.
