In the cases of severe arrythmia and conduction failure, a permanent implanted pacemaker is considered an essential treatment modality with less complication rate, broad indications and low morbidity. However, some pacemakers needs to be removed or replaced due to infection, in need of a lead upgrade, elective replacement, conduction failure or insulation failure. The most common indication for pacemaker extraction is infection. Conservative treatments such as administration of intravenous antibiotics and limitation of debridement are not effective and the removal of the entire pacing system is considered to be the best approach to pacemaker pocket infection. Although a locking stylet, a laser sheath and other newer methods of transvenous lead extraction have been proven to be effective, all leads cannot be removed. Moreover, major complications such as, cardiac tamponade and respiratory arrest during leads extraction procedure should not be ignored. We experienced two cases of exposed pacemakers in the subclavicular region. After removing the pacemaker body, exposed proximal lead was pulled out and cut off. The end of remnant external insulation tube was tied to prevent infection propagation between external insulation tube and inner metalic coil. Wounds were covered by local flap coverage. No other problems were detected during the one-year follow-up. Since there are few reports on lead-preserving method of treating limited infection of exposed pacemakers, we would like to present our new method for treating exposed pacemakers.

Recently, countries have recognized the significant to instruct the information literacy to library users so that they can positively and actively use the information. However, among the courses of library and information science in the colleges of South Korea which educate the potential librarians, few courses have the objectives to make the students obtain the abilities to teach the information literacy in the future. Since this lack of appropriate educations is reflected on the fields of library, the librarians have many difficulties in preparing for and performing user instructions. As an alternative solution for this problem, this study suggests opening a course, information user instructions, in the curriculum of library and information science of the colleges in South Korea and concretely demonstrated the curricular model. Also the course syllabus displays when this course would open.

The purpose of this study is to research on attitudes toward legalization of death with dignity. The respondents are 561 adults aged 20 years old and over, living in Seoul and Kyunggi Province. Research questionnaire consist of 28 questions concerning general background, personal experiences of death, attitudes toward death, pros and cons on death with dignity and legalization. Statistical analyses employ frequency, mean, cross tab, and t-test. 87.3% of respondents agree the legalization of death with dignity. The persons who are older, self-employed, and production employees, get married, live with spouse, believe buddhism, experience care for the death, believe life after death, recognize the necessity of testament agree more on death with dignity. The first requisite for legalization of death with dignity is the standard of judgement concerning self decision on death with dignity. The decision makers are prioritized by self, family member in order. The necessary services for decisions on death with dignity are the mediation role between medical team and family, medical information about illness prognosis and prolongation, psychological counselling on depression.

This paper shows the result of study on the detailed applicable procedure of software Escrow account applied for rolling stock. The customer as end-user requires software source code, related critical technical documents etc. about software based system of train for maintenance purpose through software modification and enhancement after completion of warranty period. Otherwise, it is not easy to keep up with the customer's requirement of demanding supplier's exclusive information because it is considered as intellectual property rights of supplier as software developer. Therefore, the main contractor(normally called as Car-builder) need to introduce software Escrow service in order to coordinate the different a standpoint between software developer and end-user. Software Escrow is a legal arrangement in which an software Escrow packages (software source code, software development tool, build process, proprietary information, copyright and etc.) is deposited into and Escrow account under the trust of a reliable third party (Escrow agent) depending on mutual agreement on Escrow contract condition as signing off Escrow agreement document. This paper deals with the study on the detailed procedure about the following general category of Escrow procedure and purpose to apply this specific procedure of Escrow into the future project onward.

This study aims to understand the experiences of remarried elderly from the social, cultural point of view. The study subjects were randomly selected 3 remarried couples with age higher than 65 who could express their experience enough. This study adapted qualitative study with grounded theory method by Strauss and Corbin(1998), which deducted 126 significant sentences from the testimony of participants and classified those into 48 topics and categorized into 16. As for the study result, the main phenomenon was the "ambivalence of marriage" and the mediation conditions for controlling were "trust and acknowledgement of spouse and family", and "proper compensation", and the reaction/mutual reaction strategy to correspond to this situation was "to put effort to understand spouse". Such results will contribute to understanding the essence of marriage adjustment of remarried elderly, and are expected to be the fundamental material to tend to realistic problems that the widowed elderly face and to lead successfully remarriage.

A 4-year-old neutered female Pekingese dog (weighing 3.6 kg) was referred with the primary complaint of exercise intolerance with occasional syncope. Physical examination revealed irregularly irregular heart rhythm with persistent pulse deficits. The 12-lead surface ECG showed a marked sinus arrest with occasional junctional escape beats, indicating a sick sinus syndrome. Permanent transvenous cardiac pacing with a rate-responsive bipolar implantable pacemaker (VVIR type) was performed in the right ventricle. After pacemaker implantation, the clinical signs were remarkably improved. No further syncopal episodes have yet been occurred after implantation.

Recently, the construction industry is getting more complex and sophisticated having the characteristics of a mega project. Mega project pursues a value that can't be gained with an approach of seeing a project as just a simple sum of different parts but a mutual combination. Hence to reach the goal, program management is needed rather than project management. program management can be seen as a 'total project management' and for an efficient program management prompt support for decision making is required. However, the current supporting method can't fulfill the requirements, therefore, need a tool to support the decision making and a IETM is expected to take this role. Despite the a lot of expected advantages of IETM, it is still difficult to apply because of the frequent changes of information in specifications and laws. In this research, as part of developing a IETM, we aim to propose a system frame which is based on the analysis of processes of a project. Moreover, based on this frame, a database will be built to contribute towards the application of construction IETM in the domestic construction industry.

Recently, as high level of interest for the city regeneration, large-scale projects are planned or being performed such as reconstruction project. These mesa-projects have different characteristics from a single project in the design phase. It is a number of companies involved in design phase of mega-project and principal decision-making entity manage the project from the initial stage of an ongoing business by coordinating an opinions between design companies. The absence of a decision making support system reflected those characteristic causes a variety of problems such as a loss of cost and schedule. Therefore the final object of this paper is to propose a decision making support tool and system interface.

The effects of polymers on the cocrystallization of adefovir dipivoxil (AD) and suberic acid (SUB) were investigated. The polymeric additives in the present study were poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) and poly(acrylic acid) (PAA). When the polymers were added to the solution of AD and SUB, their effects were limited to the morphology and crystallinity of the AD/SUB cocrystal, which could be also achieved without polymeric additives by the excess amount of SUB in the solution or through the solvent-assisted grinding. When the polymers were mixed with AD before adding SUB in the solution, PEG was dramatically more effective at the same amount with possible alteration of the cocrystal structure. Also, PAA completely inhibited the formation of crystals. The present study demonstrated that the effects of polymers on the cocrystallization could be tuned by simply modifying the mixing strategy.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of budget utilization of science and technology by the Chinese autonomous province and to present the direction of improvement. Data were obtained from the 2013-2017 statistical yearbook of higher education published by the Ministry of Education of China, and efficiency was analyzed using the malmquist analysis method. The analysis found that the low technological progress caused changes in the productivity MPI index, and that cities affected by technological efficiency needed to improve internal factors such as internal coordination and restructuring of universities in the region to increase efficiency. And it was found that areas affected by technological change needed proper response to external factors such as government policy, economic environment, social environment or technological development. This study is meaningful in that it presented reference data in enhancing efficiency of budget utilization of science and technology by autonomy of China, and it is necessary to establish strategies and study essential factors to increase efficiency of inefficient areas in the future.
