In this paper, we studied that the EZW algorithm based in HWT was proposed effective compression technique of wavelet transformed image. The proposed Haar-EZW algorithm is that image was coding by zerotree coding technique using self-similarity of HWT coefficients. If the HWT coefficient is larger than the threshold, that is coding to POS. If the HWT coefficient is smaller than the threshold, that is coding to NEG. If the HWT coefficient is larger than the root of zerotree, that is coding to ZTR. If the HWT coefficient is smaller then the threshold, and if that is not the root of zerotree, that is coding to IZ. This process is repeated until all the HWT coefficients have been encoded completely. This paper is compared Haar-EZW algorithm with Daubechies and Antonini. As the results of compare, it is shown that the PSNR of the Haar-EZW algorithm is better than Daubechies's and Antonini's.

Recently, there have been various researches on efficient and automatic analysis on urban environment methods that utilize the computer vision and machine learning technology. Among many new analyses, urban safety analysis has received a major attention. In order to predict more accurately on safety score and reflect the human visual perception, it is necessary to consider the generic and local information that are most important to human perception. In this paper, we use Double-column Convolutional Neural network consisting of generic and local columns for the prediction of urban safety. The input of generic and local column used re-sized and random cropped images from original images, respectively. In addition, a new learning method is proposed to solve the problem of over-fitting in a particular column in the learning process. For the performance comparison of our Double-column Convolutional Neural Network, we compare two Support Vector Regression and three Convolutional Neural Network models using Root Mean Square Error and correlation analysis. Our experimental results demonstrate that our Double-column Convolutional Neural Network model show the best performance with Root Mean Square Error of 0.7432 and Pearson/Spearman correlation coefficient of 0.853/0.840.
In this paper, efficient deployment method of sensors and target positioning performance with respect to measurement error are dealt with. Active sonar can be categorized into Monostatic, Bistatic, Multistatic sonar, and characteristics of respective sonar are different. Assuming that each sensor can receive range and angular information, we compare the performance of Monostatic, Bistatic, and Multistatic systems. And we suggest Weighted least square (WLS) which gives the weight to former case, LS. In particular. adopting suggested method we investigate the target positioning performance according to number of sensor, distance from transmitter to receiver, and propose efficient arrangement rule for Multistatic sonar configurations. According to the experimental results, RMSE of Multistatic sonar is found to be superior to Monostatic and Bistatic by 35.98%. 37.45% respectively, and WLS is superior to LS approximately by 7.4% in average. Furthermore, as the difference of respective sensor's variance is large, it is observed that the improvement ratio of target positioning performance is increased.
This paper describes an efficient hardware implementation of modular square root (MSQR) computation over GF(p), which is the operation needed to map plaintext messages to points on elliptic curves for elliptic curve (EC)-ElGamal public-key encryption. Our method supports five sizes of elliptic curves over GF(p) defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standard. For the Koblitz curves and the pseudorandom curves with 192-bit, 256-bit, 384-bit and 521-bit, the Euler's Criterion based on the characteristic of the modulo values was applied. For the elliptic curves with 224-bit, the Tonelli-Shanks algorithm was simplified and applied to compute MSQR. The proposed method was implemented using the finite field arithmetic circuit with 32-bit datapath and memory block of elliptic curve cryptography (ECC) processor, and its hardware operation was verified by implementing it on the Virtex-5 field programmable gate array (FPGA) device. When the implemented circuit operates with a 50 MHz clock, the computation of MSQR takes about 18 ms for 224-bit pseudorandom curves and about 4 ms for 256-bit Koblitz curves.
The basic direction of mathematical education for the 21st century is focused on helping student to understand mathematics and developing their problem solving abilities, mathematical disposition and mathematical thinking. Elementary mathematics teachers should help students make sense of mathematics, confident of their ability, and make learning environment comfortable for students to participate in. Through making activities 1 to 100 with digits 1,9,9,6, students improved the interest and preference of students about mathematics. This game is useful to foster students' mathematical thinking(concepts of exponential number expression, roots concept(${\sqrt}$), gauss function([])) and mathematical disposition. If students are helped to be interested in mathematics through mathematical games, they regard mathematics as interesting and challengeable subject to let themselves think many ways.
Sparse view CT has been widely used to reduce radiation dose to patient in radiation therapy. In this work, we performed sinogram restoration from sparse sampling data by using inpainting method for simulation and experiment. Sinogram restoration was performed in accordance with sampling angle and restoration method, and their results were validated with root mean square error (RMSE) and image profiles. Simulation and experiment are designed to fan beam scan for various projection angles. Sparse data in sinogram were restored by using linear interpolation and inpainting method. Then, the restored sinogram was reconstructed with filtered backprojection (FBP) algorithm. The results showed that RMSE and image profiles were depended on the projection angles and restoration method. Based on the simulation and experiment, we found that inpainting method could be improved for sinogram restoration in comparison to linear interpolation method for estimating RMSE and image profiles.
This study investigated the representation and algorithms of western mathematics reflected on the algebra domains of Chosun-Sanhak in the 18th century. I also analyzed the co-occurrences and replacement phenomenon between western algorithms and traditional algorithms. For this purpose, I analyzed nine Chosun mathematics books in the 18th century, including Gusuryak and Gosasibijip. The results of this study are as follows. First, I identified the process of changing to a calculation by writing of western mathematics, from traditional four arithmetical operations using Sandae and the formalized explanation for the proportional concept and proportional expression. Second, I observed the gradual formalization of mathematical representation of the solution for a simultaneous linear equation. Lastly, I identified the change of the solution for square root from traditional Gaebangsul and Jeungseunggaebangbeop to a calculation by the writing of western mathematics.

The objective of this research was to evaluate the suitability of sigmoidal and firstorder kinetic equations for simulating the methane production from solid wastes. The sigmoidal kinetic equations used were modified Gompertz and Logistic equations. Statistical criteria used to evaluate equation performance were analysis of goodness-of-fit (Residual sum of squares, Root mean squared error and Akaike's Information Criterion). Akaike's Information Criterion (AIC) was employed to compare goodness-of-fit of equations with same and different numbers of parameters. RSS and RMSE were decreased for first-order kinetic equation with lag-phase time, compared to the first-order kinetic equation without lag-phase time. However, first-order kinetic equations had relatively higher AIC than the sigmoidal kinetic equations. It seemed that the sigmoidal kinetic equations had better goodness-of-fit than the first-order kinetic equations in order to simulate the methane production.
In this study, we suggest the method of small area estimation based on the Economically Active Population Survey (EAPS) data in producing unemployment statistics for the local self-government areas (LSGAs) within large areas. The small area estimators considered are design-based indirect estimators such as the synthetic and composite estimators. The jackknife mean square error was used as a measure of accuracy of such small area estimators. The total unemployed and jackknife mean square errors of the 10 LSGAs within the large area of ChoongBuk region are derived from the estimation procedure suggested in this study, using EAPS data of December 2000. The reliability of small area estimators was assessed using the relative bias values and relative root mean square errors of these estimators. We find that under the current Korean EAPS system, the composite estimator turns out to be much more stable than other estimators.

A method for the free network adjustment is proposed, based on the application of generalized inverse matrix (g-inverse). If the network adjustment is executed according to the solution with parameters, especially when all coordinates are considered as parameters to keep unity strength, the matrix of normal equation will be singular. This paper discusses the problem of singular matrix and the analysis of accuracy between conventional method and the free network adjustment of trilateration. In case of the adjustment, the RMS errors of adjusted X, Y coordinates are increased to 35.6% in a polygon, central-point figure, and 50.5% in a quadrilateral. In the elements of error ellipse, the RMS errors are decreased by $\pm$24.5% (a) and $\pm$5.0 % (b) in the polygon, $\pm$42.6% (a) and $\pm$49.2% (b) in the quadrilateral. Introduction of free network adjustment, therefore, could be applied to improvement of relative accuracy in the horizontal positioning.
