Optical Diagnostic Study for Flame Characteristic Analysis in Aluminum Dust Clouds (알루미늄 군입자 화염특성 분석을 위한 광학기법 연구)

  • In this study, In order to develop the measurement method of high energy density metal aluminum dust cloud combustion, flame temperature and emission spectrum was measured using spectrometer. Because of the ultra high ${\mu}m$-sized aluminum flame temperature more than 2400 K, it was measured by non-contact optical technique which is the modified two wavelength pyrometry with 520, 640 nm and spectrum comparison method. These methods were applied to experiment after accurate verification. As a result, we could identify that flame temperature is more than 2400 K in bottom of combustor in both methods. And on the emission spectrum analysis, we could measure AlO radical which is occurred dominantly in aluminum combustion.

  • In this paper, a system for real-time or periodic measurement and analysis of RF parameters such as forward transmit power and pilot power in CDMA base station systems is proposed. Such RF characteristic parameter measurement can be prevented from system fault and used to achieve optimal service quality and maximum investment return through cell coverage expansion, subscriber capacity increase and so on. For forward power measurement, the local oscillator frequency for the detector is varied so that the transmit power for all channels can be measured. The channel power measurement can be used to analyze the variation in transmit power for changes in voice traffic. By comparing to forward $E_c/I_o$, the pilot channel power can be deducted, which can be used to determine uy degradation in transmit section modules such as the high dover amplifier. Since an accurate analysis of carefully measured data using the CDMA level detector must be made, the system is designed so that measurement errors due to changes in crest factor with modulation method can be overcome.

  • In order to prevent secondary disaster such as gas explosion which comes after a devastating magnitude earthquake, the seismic monitoring and transmission system for natural gas governor station was developed. To measure ground motions precisely and operate the seismic monitoring system efficiently, the position and method of accelerometer installation were recommended by the analysis of ground noise patterns of governor station. For making a decision on prompt shut-off of gas supplies in the event of a great earthquake, the real-time calculation algorithm of PGA(Peak Ground Acceleration) and SI(Spectrum Intensity) were developed and it has been implemented in the seismic monitoring and transmission system.

  • In this paper, we propose an automatic displacement system for testing stability of structure. Photogrammetry is a method which can measure accurate 3D data from 2D images taken from different locations and which is suitable for analyzing and measuring the displacement of structure. This paper consists of camera calibration, feature extraction using coded target & retro-reflective circle, 3D reconstruction and analyzing accuracy. Multi-view camera which is used for measuring displacement of structure is placed with different location respectively. Camera calibration calculates trifocal tensor from corresponding points in images, from which Euclidean camera is calculated. Especially, in a step of feature extraction, we utilize sub-pixel method and pattern recognition in order to measure the accurate 3D locations.   • The SCS-CN method was known to have difficulties to the applied to the mountainous area like Korean river basins. This study focused to develop a distributed SCS-CN method considering river basin slopes from GIS data. For the purpose, the method was applied to Sulma river and compared with area weighted average method and distributed SCS-CN method using GIS. According to the results, SCS-CN method considering river basin slopes provided better effects on the estimating effective rainfall on the other methods. The necessity of the generalization of the results to the other rivers was discussed.

  • 최근 기후변화로 인하여 전 세계적으로 물 부족현상이 대두되고 있는 가운데 우리나라 또한 물 부족국가에 편재되어 있다. 더군다나 제주도는 최대 다우지임에도 불구하고 다른 타 지역과 마찬가지로 제주도 곳곳에서 물 부족 현상이 야기되고 있다. 이러한 현상은 제주도의 강우가 대부분 년 중 6월~9월에 집중되고, 그 기간 홍수유출 역시 경사가 급하고 15km 미만의 짧은 유로연장을 갖는 대부분의 하천의 특성상 홍수유출 지속시간이 단 시간에 불과하여 수자원 관리에 큰 어려움이 있기 때문으로 사료된다. 다만 일부하천의 경우 해안과 가까운 지점의 하상과 측벽에서 기저유출 성분인 용천수가 유출됨으로 1970년대부터 상수원으로 개발하여 일부분 이용되고 있다. 하지만 이 또한 정확한 용출량 산정이 어려워 수자원으로써의 활용이 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대상유역의 기저유출로 발생되는 용천수의 용출량을 산정하여 용천수의 이용 및 보전관리계획을 수립하는 중요한 척도를 제시함은 물론 제주 수자원의 대부분을 차지하는 지하수의 함양, 배출, 순환연구에 중요한 기초자료로 활용하기 위하여 진행되었다. 본 연구는 제주도 중서귀수역 주요 기저유출유역(강정천, 악근천)에 대하여 연구대상기간(2011.7~2011.12) 동안 하천의 유출량을 ADCP(Accoustic Doppler Current Profiler, SonTek사)와 전자기식 유속계(FLOW-MATE)를 이용하여 매월 2회 현장 계측을 실시하여 유출량 자료를 확보하였고, 일 단위의 모의가 가능한 유역단위의 준 분포형 장기 강우-유출 모델(continuous rainfall-runoff model)인 SWAT(Soil Water & Assessment Tool) 모델을 적용한 물수지 결과값과 비교 검정하여 제주도 기저유출 하천의 유출율 및 수문곡선의 특성을 분석하고 SWAT 모델을 통한 물수지 산정을 실시하였다. 중서귀수역의 기저유출 대상유역에 대한 지속적인 관측자료와 세계적인 SWAT모델을 이용한 정밀 수자원 해석결과는 서귀포시의 주 식수원으로 이용되고 있는 대상유역의 물순환 및 물수지분석과 통합 수자원의 연구진행, 향후 기후변화에 대비한 효율적인 수자원의 이용 및 확보를 위한 귀중한 자료로 이용될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

A Study on the Leakage Evaluation for Power Plant Valve Using Infrared Thermography Method (적외선열화상에 의한 발전용 밸브 누설명가 연구)

  • This study was conducted to estimate the feasibility using thermal image measurement that is applicable to internal leak diagnosis for the power plant valve. Abnormal heating of valve surface associated with high temperature steam f10w toward valve outlet side in the condition of low temperature is a primary indicator of leakage problems in high temperature and pressure valves. Thermal imaging enables to see the invisible thermal radiation that may portend impending damage before their condition becomes critical. When steam flow in valve outlet side in the condition of low temperature is converted into heat transmitted through the valve body due to the internal leakage in valve. The existence of abnormally increasable leakage rate in the valve will result in abnormally high levels of heat to be generated that can be quickly identified with a thermal image avoiding energy loss or damage of valve component. From the experimental results, it was suggested that the thermal image measurement could be an effective way to precisely diagnose and evaluate internal leak situation of valve.

  • Concentrations of minerals (Ca, K, Mg, Na, Se, Zn, Fe, and Mn) in 50 different Korean foodstuffs were determined through neutron activation analysis. To check the accuracy of this method, the U.S. NIST standard reference materials were analyzed. Anchovy, sesame, perilla, and laver were found to contain relatively higher concentrations of Ca, Mg, Fe, and Zn than the other foodstuffs.

Accurate Boundary detection Algorithm for The Faulty Inspection of Bump On Chip (반도체 칩의 범프 불량 검사를 위한 정확한 경계 검출 알고리즘)

  • Generally, a semiconductor chip measured with a few micro units is captured by line scan camera for higher inspection accuracy. However, the faulty inspection requires an exact boundary detection algorithm, because it is very sensitive to scan speed and lighting conditions. In this paper we propose boundary detection with subpixel edge detection in order to increase the accuracy of bump faulty detection on chips. The bump edge is detected by first derivative to four directions from bump center point and the exact edge positions are searched by the subpixel method. Also, the exact bump boundary to calculate the actual bump size is computed by LSM(Least Squares Method) to minimize errors since the bump size is varied such as bump protrusion, bump bridge, and bump discoloration. Experimental results exhibit that the proposed algorithm shows large improvement comparable to the other conventional boundary detection algorithms.

  • Analog-to-digital converters(ADCs) used in instrumentation and measurements often require high absolute accuracy, including excellent linearity and negligible dc offset. Incremental(integrating) data converters(IDCs) provide a solution for such measurement applications, as they retain most of the advantages of conventional $\Delta{\Sigma}$ converters, and yet they are capable of offset-free and accurate conversion. In this paper, a design technique for implementing multiplexed incremental data converters to convert narrow bandwidth AC signals over multi-channel is discussed. It incorporates the operation principle, topology, and digital decimation filter design. The theoretical results are verified by simulation results.
