The purpose of this study was to conduct the impact of unit-level nurse practice environment on turnover intention among nurses in a tertiary hospital. A cross-sectional study was carried out using questionnaires with 267 nurses in 24 nursing units of hospital in Seoul. Data were collected in November 2013 and were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0. The results of the study indicate that nurse turnover intention is associated with the nurse practice environment at the unit level. In addition, the model including age, unit-level nurse practice environment explained 23.0% of the variance for nurse turnover intention. Hospital can improve nurse retention and lower turnover intention by changing the nurse practice environment of unit, such as nurse participation in hospital affairs, improvement of the nurse manager leadership and nurse-physician collaborative relationships.

This study was conducted to suggest a start-up policy that includes start-up education and support for active seniors with various careers who try to change their careers before and after retirement. From this point of view, this study divided the factors affecting the entrepreneurial will of active seniors into entrepreneurship organizational and functional competency and identified the effect of these competencies on entrepreneurial efficacy and entrepreneurial intention. In the proposed model, start-up competency is divided into organizational competency (leadership, creativity problem-solving, communication, decision-making) and functional competency (management strategy, marketing, business plan). And this study examined the mediating role of entrepreneurial efficacy in the relationship between entrepreneurial competency factors and entrepreneurial intention. Meanwhile, PLS-POS analysis was performed to uncover the heterogeneity and pattern in the proposed structural model. The survey was conducted with the help of an online survey company from November 27 to December 15, 2020 for the active senior age group from 40 to under 65 years old. Data were collected from a total of 433 panelists and analyzed using SPSS 22.0 and SmartPLS 3.3.7 programs. The findings are as follows. First, the finding shows that the entrepreneurial organizational and functional competencies of active seniors had significant positive(+) effects on entrepreneurial efficacy. Second, the result shows that entrepreneurial organizational and functional competencies of active seniors had significant positive(+) effects on entrepreneurial intention. Third, the findings show that entrepreneurship efficacy had a significantly positive(+) effect on entrepreneurial intention. The findings of PLS-POS show that entrepreneurship education needs to be carried out by identifying the needs that require entrepreneurial organizational and functional competency when training for entrepreneurship competency. In summary, the findings of the current study are to determine what the competency factors are for the government (local government) to increase the policy direction necessary for establishing and implementing entrepreneurship education and training programs to develop policies to enhance the economic activity participation rate of active seniors.
The purpose of this study is to develop business models for current situational scenarios reflecting customer needs emphasize the need for implementing a logistics cooperation system by analyzing big data to strengthen SCM competitiveness capacities. For healthcare SCM competitiveness needed for the logistics cooperation usage intent, they were divided into product quality, price leadership, hand-over speed, and process flexibility for examination. The wordcloud results that analyzed major considerations to realize work efficiency between medical institutes, words like unexpected situations, information sharing, delivery, real-time, delivery, convenience, etc. were mentioned frequently. It can be analyzed as expressing the need to construct a system that can immediately respond to emergency situations on the weekends. Furthermore, in addition to pursuing communication and convenience, the importance of real-time information sharing that can share to the efficiency of inventory management were evident. Accordingly, it is judged that it is necessary to aim for a business model that can enhance visibility of the logistics pipeline in real-time using big data analysis on site. By analyzing the effects of the adaptability of a supply chain network for healthcare SCM competitiveness, it was revealed that obtaining competitive capacities is possible through the implementation of logistics cooperation. Stronger partnerships such as logistics cooperation will lead to SCM competitive capacities. It will be necessary to strengthen SCM competitiveness by searching for a strategic approach among companies in a direction that can promote mutual partnerships among companies using the joint logistics system of medical institutes. In particular, it will be necessary to search for ways to utilize HCSM through big data analysis according to the construction of a logistics cooperation system.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate school dieticians' performance of nutritional quality control, and further to establish effective and objective standards of nutritional quality control. Data for this study came from 200 school dieticians' responses in the Chungbuk area. The total quality management (TQM)-based questionnaire was structured. The questionnaire consisted of the following four fields (1) performance of nutritional quality control, (2) performance of stepwise food production to maximize nutrient preservation rate, (3) management of documents and records related to nutritional quality control, and (4) other relating matters. The items of the questionnaire were measured on a five-point Likert scale which ranged from 'strongly agree' to 'strongly disagree'. First, the analysis indicated that school dieticians performed 'least' on human resource management', 'mediocre' on nutritional quality control, and best on 'leadership'. Second, the analysis on performance of stepwise food production to maximize nutrient preservation rate showed that dieticians considerably endeavored to maximize nutrients of cooked food, but it was found out that the most of nutrient destruction can be caused by heating during cooking. Third, the result showed that the systematic use of documents and records for nutritional quality control was not sufficiently accomplished, especially in the production phase of food. In addition, the measure by the Pearson correlation coefficient indicated that there was a significant relationship between performance of nutritional quality control and performance of stepwise food production to maximize nutrient preservation rate, and between performance of nutritional quality control and management of documents and records related to nutritional quality control. Finally, the findings of this study suggest that more effort should be exerted to carefully establish TQM-based standards for the improvement of nutritionary quality.
This study was to develop improving vocational basic skill program and content which are basic of instruction-learning ability for the vocational education substantiality. The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of scientifically gifted middle school students about their engineering design process according to gender and talent division. The instrument in surveying their perceptions about the engineering design process consists of 24 items (Likert 5 point type) five domains: problem definition, information collection and utilization, idea generation, inquiry performance, and teamwork (communication, cooperation, leadership). A total of 102 scientifically gifted students participated in the survey, according to gender (69 males and 33 females) and talent divisions (physics, biological sciences, software, mathematics, space-geological sciences, and chemistry). They had a high level of awareness of their engineering design ability. It is necessary to develop a customized gifted-education program so that their talent in their field of interest can be fully displayed according to the gender and talent division. In addition, the teaching and learning methods and strategies of the engineering design program for the scientifically gifted middle school students should be established to fully reflect the practical needs of the talented.
This study aimed to confirm the nature of the experiences of elderly living alone who participated in the BeHaS program using community-based participatory research. 6 elderly living alone with metabolic syndrome participated as participants, and they played a role as a leader when conducting the 12 weeks BeHaS program as a community-based participatory study. Data was collected using focus group interview. As a result, Six categories were derived; 'the burden of becoming a research participant', 'knowing a new program', 'getting into the BeHaS program', 'having a new leadership', 'knowing about metabolic syndrome health care', 'Feeling worth through a changed self'. Therefore, this study has identified the nature of the experience of participating in the BeHaS program for metabolic syndrome through a community participation-based study targeting the elderly living alone, and it will be able to provide basic data for the operation and program settlement strategies in the Community of the BeHaS program in the future.
For years, poor research and working conditions in the field of science and engineering in Korea led to the migration of gifted students to seek a better academic environment. The primary reason for such a phenomenon is the lack of a coherent education system for gifted students. With the support from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science & Creativity, Hanyang University launched an exploring project to introduce an Honors Program, aiming to provide specialized and systematic learning opportunities as well as supporting greater academic achievements for gifted students at university-level. Students admitted to this program were selected not by conventional standards but by competency-based selection process, assessed through an in-depth interview. The specific goal of this program is to prepare gifted and talented students not only for an academic pioneer with the highest caliber in the field of science, but also for a global leader equipped with a creative view as well as integrity and a convergent mind. Distinctive features of this program include emphasis on fundamental science and consilience, problem solving skills, first-hand education, interpersonal skills, and global communication skills as well as individualization of the learning experience, among many others. This study evaluates YALSA's Competencies for Librarians Serving Youth: Young Adults Deserve the Best announced at the Young Adult Library Services Association(YALSA), a division of the American Library Association(ALA) on January 2010. For this study, we investigated fifth librarians working at the National Library of Korea to find out the requirements, effectiveness, and difficulties regarding seven areas and forth-eight detailed qualifications indicated by YALSA's Competencies for Librarians Serving Youth through survey. The results show that the more important areas required for youth services librarians were identified as knowledge of materials, administration, leadership and professionalism. Difficult areas of competencies are communication, marketing and outreach. Analysis of forty-eight detailed qualifications according to their importance and the level of difficulty shows that the more important areas are A4(encourage young adults to become lifelong library users by helping them to discover what libraries offer, how to use library resources, and how libraries can assist them in actualizing their overall growth and development) and A1(develop and demonstrate leadership skills in identifying the unique needs of young adults and advocating for service excellence, including equitable funding and staffing levels relative to those provided for adults and children), while the most difficult area of competencies is C4(Design, implement, and evaluate a strategic marketing plan for promoting young adult services in the library, schools, youth-serving agencies and the community at large).

This study analyzed the characteristics of the learning organization according to its characteristics, the operation method and size of each public library. In addition, the service quality of public libraries was investigated so that it was also analyzed the correlation between the characteristics of the learning organization and the quality of the service. To achieve the research objectives, 83 librarians and 343 users across seven public libraries in South Korea's metropolitan areas were surveyed. The investigation covered various dimensions of learning organizations: creating continuous learning opportunities, promoting inquiry and dialogue, encouraging collaboration and team learning, creating systems to capture and share learning, empowering people toward a collective vision, connecting the organization to its environment, and providing strategic leadership for learning. Also it was investigated aspects of service quality: affect of service, information control, and library as place. As a result of the study, for the learning organization characteristics, more than 3.4 out of 5 were qualified to have foundation of learning organizations. One attempted to categorize according to its operational method and size and compare learning organization differences between public libraries, however it was not easy to see the clear differences. Therefore it was judged that there might be another unidentified factor which gives an affect on learning organization. Furthermore, it was found that there was a positive correlation between learning organization traits and service quality. This study might signify by looking into how the learning organization, which is one of the post-bureaucratic organizational traits, appears in public libraries.
