The aim of the study was to analyze the spatial characteristics of the main producing areas of nontimber forest products. We analyzed the spatial aggregations of the main producing area and their changes using the Moran's I index. We found that 45% of nontimber forest products were significanty spatially clustered. Additionally, in five major products, we observed that the main producing area has expanded and the degree of aggregation has also strengthened over the last ten years. The results of this study can be effectively used for forest policies, such as determining the location and size of the distribution centers of specific forest products.

This study aims to suggest basic data for developing forest product in Jeongeup City by surveying and analyzing consumer awareness and purchasing behavior. A survey was conducted focusing on local tourist attractions in Jeongeup City, and the analysis was conducted on 234 people. Among the local specialty processed products that the survey participants had experience in purchasing, food was mainly tea, concentrate solution, liquor, snacks and fruit syrup/enzyme. The therapy was shown in order of soap, aroma oil, and lotion. It was found that the purchase cost was more than 10,000 won and less than 30,000 won. Major purchase uses were for direct use and gifts, and 56.8% of the customers were satisfied with the satisfaction of the products, which were found to be purchased because of their good quality, good gift, and good health functions. In the question of 11 kinds of forest products, the subjects were aware of bokbunja, balloon flower, wild flower, deodeok, bracken, durum, and mal, among which bokbunja and wild flower were recognized as the representative forest products of Jeongeup. A cluster of food and therapy product selection attributes was analyzed to find target consumers. As the group that is interested in forest products and values the safety and quality of products is highly recognized, the value of forest products should be increased in consideration of the quality and safety of forest products when developing products in the future.
The objective of this paper is to elicit some policy implications to promote agroforestry in South Korea from the consumers' perspective. We conducted internet survey to 640 urban households about the recognition of forest farming products. Consumers purchased forest farming products for their nutrition, medical function, and safety and regarded them as higher quality than crops cultivated from agricultural land. Consumers preferred forest farming products but revealed no difference in recognition of naturally-grown products. Consumers buying forest products prioritize the quality and medical function among attributes. Among consumers as their income increases, they regard naturally grown products more important than price and freshness. Therefore, to promote agroforestry in South Korea, certification for naturally-grown products to win the consumers' trust and the $6^{th}$ industrialization by combining experience and green tourism program must be considered.
The marketing system of non-timber forest products has been criticized as it mainly depends upon private local dealers, having too many steps between producers and consumers, we believe, which makes it less efficient. Meanwhile, there were only a few empirical studies of how they are delivered to consumers. In order to devise and implement targeted forest policies efficiently, it is quite necessary to understand the distribution channel of them. We analyzed the distribution channel of chestnut, bitter persimmon, oak mushroom, and wild greens by data analysis, field and phone survey, and then drew an implication for improving the marketing system. First of all, the number of middle step has to be reduced and the direct transaction has to be expended. In addition, we need to have more active involvement of Forest cooperative in production sites, adding values by processing, and the upgrade of current marketing centers of non-timber forest products, which have been launched since 2004 by Korea Forest Service.
This study is design to provide basic directions that Korea can take in forestry negotiation of Korea- Vietnam FTA. Trade trends and characteristics of forestry sector are figured out and the competitiveness of main products are analyzed. The trade amount between Korea and Vietnam is $207,260 thousand. Korea exports nontimber products to Vietnam, while she mainly imports wood products. The average import value of wood products during recent five years accounts for 88% of all value from Vietnam. The export items are not various, and the export value is small. The amount of imports, however, which are mainly composed of low price wood products, is relatively big. The results of analysis say that three items of Korean forest products have competitiveness, while Vietnam has eleven items. According to the study it is recommended that a sawn wood and a plywood should be classified as sensitive products to minimize and to take a long term tariff reduction.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of consumers purchasing environmentfriendly forest products, and to examine the factors affecting consumption expansion. A survey was conducted among 400 consumers over the age of 20 years. A logistic regression analysis was performed based on age, income, gender, level of education, residence area, whether or not they had children, satisfaction with product price, and product reliability. The results revealed that females were more likely to consume environment-friendly forest products than males; married people tended to buy more environment-friendly forest products than single people; and respondents with a high level of education and with children consistently showed higher willingness to purchase environmentfriendly forest products. To expand consumption of environment-friendly forest products, marketing strategies targeting well-educated, female consumers with children should be implemented.

Exports of Korean non-timber forest products to the Japanese market decreased 46.3% from 17.54 million dollars in 2010 to 9.42 million dollars in 2014. This research aims to find the appropriate strategies for exporting Korean non-timber products, such as chestnut, shitake, persimmon, and wild ginseng. We applied conjoint analysis to investigate the preferences of Japanese homemakers for Korean non-timber products. The results are as follows: (1) There is a clear distinction in the preference for the attributes and levels of products; (2).Korean products are preferred to Chinese products, but have lower competitiveness than Japanese products; (3) Japanese homemakers responded sensitively, not to the forest product prices, but to changes in their specific attributes. These results can be used to promote the export of Korean non-timber products to the Japanese market.
Forest road is an essential infrastructure for forest management such as the composition and management of forest resources, timber and forest byproduct production & transportation. It has recently been utilized forest recreation and forest sports as well as also forest pest control, forest fire prevention and evolution. When you build a forest road, the economic function in the forest is activated, so that it can result in the ripple effect of induced employment, value-added creation and production inducement. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact caused by forest road construction occurring as the overall economy. For analysis it was applied to inter industry analysis method that is a method for analyzing the quantitative cross-correlation. The data were used in the Input-Output Tables In 2014, the Bank of Korea. When you build a forest road, economic effect due to the construction of the forest road is generated and economic effects are also generated due to the increase in the production of forest products after the construction of the forest road. Therefore, we will analyze the economic impact of the two effects. The estimated economic value of forest products, which is the economic effect of forest product cultivation, was calculated through some assumptions and the economic ripple effect was analyzed. The forest road construction sector is defined as land clearing and reclamation, and irrigation project construction and the forestry forest products sector is defined as the sum of raw timber, edible forest products and misc. forest products. In total, 32 sectors were classified, and except for the two sectors defined as forest road construction and forestry forest products, the remaining sectors were integrated according to the classification system of 30 integrated classifications of the Bank of Korea. As a result, the production inducement coefficient for forest construction was analyzed to be 2.767 and the production inducement coefficient for forestry forest products was analyzed to be 1.565. This means that 2,767 times the production of forest road construction investment is induced in the whole industry and the production of 1.562 times the amount of forestry forest products is caused by the whole industry as the production of forestry forest products increases. The value added inducement coefficient for forest road construction was 0.977 and the value added inducement coefficient for forestry forest products was 0.985. Forest road are essential infrastructure for forestry development and should be continuously invested because they are essential elements of timber production and forest byproduct production with functions such as forest management, forest recreation, forest sports, and town connection.

Systematic and efficient forestry management is required because of the long-term low profitability of timber production and forest products. In this situation, non-timber forest products can be the solution to secure stable sources of income for workers in the forestry field. However, the existing studies for non-timber forest products focus on effective production and economic analysis and provide plans for increasing the income and improving the marketing system. Therefore, this research intends to analyze the spatial distribution as well as quantitative concentration of non-timber forest production. To achieve this goal, this study examined the regional concentration and dispersion of non-timber forest production in 2001, 2007, and 2014 using the coefficient of localization(CL) and location quotient(LQ) and investigated the change in spatial distribution using spatial statistics. The production of chestnuts generally showed a concentrated pattern in 2014 based on the outputs of the CL and LQ, but the result of spatial autocorrelation indicated a decrease in the spatial concentration. In addition, astringent persimmon showed more concentration from the output of CL than oak mushroom, but Moran's I suggests the opposite. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the spatial distribution to understand and improve the marketing system and intensify the production of forest products.

Recently, as research on smart farms has been actively conducted, indoor environment control, such as a green house, has reached a high level. However, In the field of forestry where cultivation is carried out in outdoor, the use of ICT is still insufficient. In this paper, we propose LPWA-based forest growth environment collection and big data analysis system using ICT technology. The proposed system collects and transmits the field cultivation environment data to the server using small solar power generation and LPWA technology based on the oneM2M architecture. The transmitted data is constructed as big data on the server and utilizes it to predict the production and quality of forest products. The proposed system is expected to contribute to the production of low-cost, high-quality crops through the fusion of renewable energy and smart farms. In addition, it can be applied to other industrial fields that utilize the oneM2M architecture and monitoring the growth environment of agricultural crops in the field.
