  • Inference rules of the knowledge base, generated by experts or optimization, may be often inconsistent and incomplete. This paper suggests a systematic and automatic method which extracts inference rules not from experts' subject but from data. First, input/output linguistic variables are partitioned into several properties by the fuzzy equalization algorithm and each combination of their properties comes to premise of inference rule. Then, the conclusion which is the mast suitable for the premise is selected by evaluating consistent measure. This method, automatically from data, derives inference rules from experience. It is shown through application that extracts new inference rules between hull dimensions and hull performance.

  • Based on the results of preceding researches that the uncertainty perceived by the private security guards about their roles exerts direct effects on the business performance of the security industry, it needs to preferentially examine the degree of authority that the private security guards have. The suitability of the psychological empowerment criteria for measuring this for private security guards, however, has not yet been established up to the present, so it can be said that the validity of the information has not yet been established. Accordingly, as the psychological empowerment criteria of private security guards, this research examined the suitability of items, reliability of items, the level of difficulty of items, and the item goodness of fit from the viewpoint of the appropriateness of category of responses, and it is summarized as follows. First, in the self-determinism factor of the psychological empowerment criteria, Item 11 was found to be an unsuitable item, so it is proper that Item 11 should be deleted when examining the psychological empowerment of private security guards from now on. Second, the item reliability of the psychological empowerment criteria was high, so the consistency of the results is shown even if the data are collected from the other private security guards. Third, they feel that it is hard to respond to Item 12 while they perceive that Item 1 is the easiest, and the level of items of the psychological empowerment criteria is evenly distributed. Fourth, it was established that the 5-point categories of the psychological empowerment criteria were suitable to the private security guards.

  • The purpose of this study was to develop and validate Korean version of Deaf Acculturation Scales(DAS). Pilot items were made a faithful translation of the Acculturation Scales of Maxwell-McCaw and Zea (2011) and were modified for Korean Deaf people. The Scale involves two dimensions, in order to measure the acculturation of Deaf people; Deaf acculturation and hearing acculturation. Using factor analysis, we developed a Korean version of DAS consisted of twenty-five items for Deaf acculturation dimension and twenty-five items for hearing acculturation dimension. These analysis supported the four factors of Deaf acculturation dimension and the five factors of hearing acculturation dimension. Reliability, assessed by Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, was .93 for Deaf acculturation and .93 for hearing acculturation, respectively, which confirm the Koran version of DAS. Construct validity was demonstrated through correlation with Deaf acculturation-related variables: age, age of Deafness, Degree of hearing loss, American Sign Language ability, and lip-reading ability. Criterion validity was supported by correlation with Collective Self-Esteem Scale. Limitation and implication of this study and direction for future research were discussed.

  • Self-Compassion(SCS) Scale is developed by Neff(2003a) and translated by Kim, Lee, Cho, Chae, Lee(2008). But, there is the limitation with validation SCS and Korean version Self-Compassion(K-SCS) performed in college students and the incoherence for the results of the scale's factor analysis in other countries. Therefore, this study examined the validity of factor structure in SCS based on data in 435 adult aged from 18 to 79. For this, we conducted exploratory factor analysis(EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA), and we examined the each adequacy of two-factor, tree-factor and six-factor model. The result of EFA supported six-factor and the result of CFA was the six factor model best as well.

  • Objective : This study aimed to assess the applicability of the Yonsei Lifestyle Profile (YLP), initially developed for adults, for adolescents and verify its reliability and validity. Methods : This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the YLP among 436 middle and high school students in South Korea. The internal consistency of this scale was analyzed using Cronbach's alpha and Spearman-Brown's coefficient. Concurrent validity was assessed using Pearson's correlation coefficient with the Korean Youth Physical Activity Questionnaire, the Korean version of the Children and Adolescents Participation Scale, and the Nutrition Quotient for Adolescents. Results : The overall internal consistency of the YLP items demonstrated high reliability, with a Cronbach's α of .811 and Spearman-Brown's coefficient of .779. Significant positive correlations were observed for physical activity (r=.555, p<.01), activity participation (r=.177, p<.01), and dietary habits (r=.633, p<.05), indicating consistent correlations with the related scales. Conclusion : This study analyzed the YLP targeting adolescents and confirmed its high reliability and significant validity in the areas of physical activity, activity participation, and dietary habits. These findings suggest that the YLP can be utilized as a reliable tool for evaluating healthy lifestyles among adolescents.
