  • Service companies are making constant efforts to gain positive business performance such as customer satisfaction, quality improvement, and valuable management. Compared to other industries, service companies are highly dependent on workers for responding to customers and satisfying various customer needs in terms of business content and type. Thus, the attitude, given, environment, and capacity of the workers who supply service and serve customers are important factors that directly and indirectly influence customer satisfaction and performance. To enhance the performance of organizations and gain competitive advantage, it is important to provide the various forms of social support for workers as service suppliers. In this sense, active interests including the development of personal competence, support for working environment, and providing chances for the development of new services are significant. This study is a follow-up study on the influence of social support for positive psychological capital, creativity, and work performance of service workers. Among the service process matrix, this study targets the workers involved in mass service fields and seeks to examine how support for co-worker influences the performance through self-efficacy. No empirical analysis has examined workers involved in mass service fields. Thus, this study aims to take an approach different from that of previous studies and to suggest more effective human resource management strategies for enhancing the competitiveness of service companies and provide related implications.

Structural Relationships between the Variables of Coaching Leadership, Job Characteristics and Organizational Effectiveness in Convergence Environment (기업의 융복합 환경에서 코칭리더십, 직무특성, 조직효과성 변인 간의 구조적 관계)

  • The importance of coaching leadership has been highlighted to enhance creativity and competence of human resources in convergence environment. This paper was validated through a structural relationships model, the impact of coaching leadership on behavioral dimensions of organizational effectiveness by focusing on mediating role of job characteristics. Coaching leadership activities showed a significant positive effect on job characteristics and turnover intentions. Job characteristics appear to have a mediating effect on the relationship between coaching leadership and organizational effectiveness, especially the coaching leadership itself not necessarily to improve organizational citizenship behavior, can increase organizational citizenship behavior when formed into a positive awareness of the job characteristics of organizational members.

A Qualitative Research on the Effects of an Edu-care program for Low-income Grandparent-headed Families (저소득층 조손가정 대상의 에듀케어 프로그램에 대한 질적 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the daily life of low-income grandparent-headed families and identify the effects of the Edu-Care program. To this end, the researcher conducted focus group interviews with ten grandparents and ten grandchildren who participated in the adjustment program, which was implemented for about five months. After participating in the program, the grandparents perceived that their skills for educating and raising children were improved and that they experienced psychological stability. Meanwhile, the grandchildren perceived that their learning competency and motivation for learning were enhanced and recognized why learning is necessary for their career. It was also found that the conditions and experiences needed for low-income grandparent-headed families are an integrative support program, a differentiated curriculum, and aid and care provided by human resources.

  • In circumstances that case studies of management strategy for the domestic media company were rare, this study was performed case analysis of CJ E&M, representative new media/contents company in Korea. An evolutionary perspective is applied to diversification of the business and the external environmental analysis/resource based view are applied to capability evaluation since the inauguration as analysis frameworks. Unlike other media companies, CJ E&M have increased synergies of scale through horizontal, vertical diversification and superior contents strategies. furthermore, there are many advantages of enthusiasm of the leadership, expertise, high human configuration, creative corporate culture, effective contents portfolio. However, it is necessary to note that too much emphasis on competition and the performance of the organization may make organizational atmosphere rigid and weaken the global competitiveness.

  • Currently many companies have realized that producing efficient product does not guarantee the market differentiation. Realizing the problem, those companies are actively pursuing the servitization strategy. However complexities in selecting the right service areas among many choices along with in developing service strategies and organizational structures remain unsolved to many manufacturing companies. This paper is about an exploratory study in which, through in-depth case analysis, we observed how a manufacturing company successfully managed to transform to the service company. Through this study, we have found that successful transformation needs to resolve many conflicting issues such as channels among existing and new sales front, organizational restructuring due to conflicting in evaluation and human resource requirements required for responding to customers in the field. This 'Hansam' case study provides managers with some guidelines as to how to transform to the service company.

  • 국제연합 식량농업기구 (FAO)에 의하면 UR 협상과 WTO 체제 출범 이후 농산물 수출국가와 선진국에서의 소득균형은 일반적으로 향상되었으나 순식량수입국가나 개발도상국가에서는 소득균형이 더 악화되고 농업영역의 쇠퇴를 가져왔다. 더욱이 식량안전상황은 농산물의 급격한 수입으로 여전히 불안하고 농가판매의 지속적인 악화, 농촌과 도시간의 소득격차가 큰 것으로 나타나고 있다. 특히 인간의 건강과 환경에 유해한 GMO의 거래는 소비자의 식품안전과 잠재적 위해 때문에 적절한 조치를 필요로 하고 있다. 아시아 지역 개발도상국가들에서의 식량의 안정적 공급과 농촌 지역사회 개발의 핵심적 과제는 인적자원의 개발, 기술역량의 신장, 하부구조의 개선, 농업기술 이전의 효율화 등으로 요약될 수 있다. 이러한 상황에서 농업교육, 연구 그리고 지도, 특히 아시아의 주요작물 영역에 대한 더 많은 투자가 필요하며 많은 아시아국가들에서 우선적으로 요구되는 농촌청소년교육은 빈곤퇴치, 식량의 안정적 공급 및 식품의 안전 그리고 지속적이고 균형있는 농촌개발 등이다. 이를 위한 정부와 국민, 특히 젊고 열정적인 사람들이 함께 협력해야 빈곤퇴치와 식량의 안정적 공급 및 식품의 안전 등 농촌의 사회경제적 발전이 가능할 것이다. 진행되고 있는 WTO 체제 하에서의 아시아 지역 농촌사회 발전과 식량문제 해결을 위해서는 교역과 환경, 그리고 개발의 총체적 접근이 중요하며 식량의 안정적 공급을 위한 농업, 농촌의 하부구조가 열악한 개발도상국 소농에 대한 우선적 배려가 필수적이라 할 것이다. 특히, 농업분야 생산 유통 분야의 개선을 위한 농업교육, 농촌지도의 국가적 강조와 농촌 청소년 교육 훈련과 육성의 중요성에 대한 인식과 이에 따른 국가적, 국제적 협력이 필요할 것이다.

Effects of Human Resource Management Activities and R&D Capabilities of SMEs on Organizational Effectiveness (중소기업의 인적자원관리활동과 연구개발 역량이 조직유효성에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to present a business strategy plan to increase organizational effectiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises. The research investigated in the level of human resource activity, such as recruitment, education, evaluation, compensation and development for the employees and executives who are working at small and medium-sized enterprises where located in Busan and Gyongnam province. With this, the research carried out actual proof analysis on the level of human resource activity effects on organization effectiveness like job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The following implications can be acquired from the result of multiple regression analysis on the 201 employees of small and medium enterprises. First, small and medium-sized enterprises should carry out human resource management activities and improve research and development capacity to enhance organization effectiveness. Second, in order to improve job satisfaction of the members of small and medium-sized enterprises, the management should concentrate on recruitment activity and reward maintenance management activity and come up with strategies to enhance learning ability and external network ability. Third, in order to enhance organizational commitment of the members of small and medium-sized enterprises, recruitment activity, training activity, and reward maintenance management activity should be carried out and the management should come up with strategies to enhance learning ability and external network ability. In this research, the objective was only to find out antecedents of organization effectiveness, but considering that causality might arise among the antecedents, in the studies hereafter, the verification on the structural relationship of various factors will be needed.

Establishment of a Process for Collecting Video Scripts on a Disaster Site based on Public-private Partnerships: Focus on 2019 Practical Activities during Typhoon in the Korean Peninsula (민관협력 기반 재난현장 영상정보 수집 및 활용체계 구축: 2019년 한반도 태풍 내습 시 실전활동 사례 중심)

  • In this study, we established the process for collecting and utilizing video scripts of disaster site based on public-private partnerships. It is for the purpose of actively utilizing private capabilities in disaster management, and quickly sharing video scripts to identify field conditions. Based on the experience of actual operation of public-private partnerships system in the event of typhoon in 2019, we also derived implications for continuous operation of the process. Results are meaningful in that the government established the process for collecting and utilizing video scripts through public-private partnerships during the initial disaster response phase. And we also confirmed the possibility of spreading positive perception of disaster management organizations. However, there is a limit to the actualization and practical use of performance as an experimental pilot operation in the R&D stage. In addition, for continuous operation of the system, it is necessary to prepare institutional support measures such as organization, infrastructure for operating, programs of education and training, and policy making.

  • 1997년 하수종말처리장의 민간위탁을 시작으로 국내 수도산업의 효율화에 대한 논의는 정부부처와 전문기관, 학계 등을 중심으로 제시되어 왔다. 수도산업 구조개편 논의는 지방상수도와 하수도산업의 규모의 영세성을 극복하기 위한 수직적 수평적 통합, 지방자치단체의 직영으로 인한 비효율성 제거를 위한 경영형태의 변화 등 크게 두 가지 흐름으로 정리할 수 있다. 상 하수도 사업의 수직적 수평적 통합은 주로 164개 수도사업자를 대략 9개 또는 12개 대규모 권역, 26개 또는 31개 중규모 권역으로 통합하는 방안들이 논의되고 있는데, 이와 같은 광역화 방안에 대해서는 정부부처, 연구기관, 전문가그룹 등에서 전반적인 합의가 형성되고 있다. 하지만 경영형태의 변화는 공사화와 민영화가 가장 큰 논의의 흐름으로, 이에 대해서는 집단과 지역 등 이해관계자간 상이한 견해들로 사회적인 합의를 이루지 못하고 있다. 한편 선진 수도사업을 구축하고 있는 프랑스, 네덜란드, 이스라엘 등지 에서는 수도산업의 효율성뿐만 아니라 공공성 제고 관점에서 구조적인 변화를 꾀하고 있다. 프랑스 파리시는 과거 150여 년 동안 유지되어 오던 수도사업의 민간운영을 전문공기업에 의한 위탁운영 방식으로 전환하는가 하면, 이스라엘은 정부와 민간기업간의 역할 분리를 통하여 물산업 수출국가로 발전하였다. 또한 네덜란드에서는 민영화 도입을 둘러싼 사회적 역량을 보다 발전적인 방향으로 유도하고자 법률로써 민영화를 금지하였다. 이에 본 연구는 글로벌 수도산업의 구조적인 변화 등을 살펴봄으로써 국내 수도산업이 효율성과 공공성을 제고하기 위한 경영 개선에 앞서 고려되어야 할 선결과제를 다음과 같이 제시한다. 첫째, 본 연구에서 살펴본 글로벌 수도산업의 구조적 변화(민영화에서 전문공기업화)는 수도사업의 정보의 비대칭성 및 투자저하가 효율적인 규제 메커니즘 부재에서 비롯되었다는 인식에서 추진되었다. 반면 국내시장은 산업 경제 전반이 정부주도로 이루어짐에 따라 적절한 규제의 틀과 문화가 정착되어 있지 않을 뿐만아니라 규제를 위한 전문인력도 상당히 부록한 실정이다. 따라서 효과적인 민영화의 도입을 위해서는 인적 제도적 인프라 형성이 선결과제이다. 둘째, 신규 또는 개량 투자에 대한 수요 발생, 생산원가에 미달하는 요금회수율 등은 민영화 도입 이후요금인상의 압박요인으로 작용할 것이다. 따라서 생산원가를 저감시키기 위한 광역화, 통합관리체계 등에 의한 원가절감 노력을 통하여 수도산업을 효율화하고 요금회수율을 현실화 등의 과제가 선결되어야 할 것이다.

Identification of Job Competencies in Developing Human Resource;The Case of a Company which Provides a Preschool Education Program (인적자원 개발을 위한 직무역량 규명;학습지 기업을 대상으로)

  • This research aims to clarify what kind of competencies are the source of the competitiveness of an enterprise and the standards for the development of human resources. Its specific objectives are the following; First, to develop methods for examining competencies to carry out one’s job. Second, to draw out the competencies necessary for carrying out the jobs by jobs on the basis of the developed methods. Third, to clarify the competencies commonly needed to carry out all kinds of jobs. This study collected materials for drawing out the competencies needed to perform 21 jobs in six job groups. This was done with the help of a panel of professionals. The process for drawing out the competencies required to perform certain job was designed in six steps. These steps combine classical methods using particular reference groups as well as model methods for particular job competencies. The materials for the R&D job were gathered for three months starting from February 2001. Materials from 20 other jobs were also collected three times from the end of May to the end of October 2001. This was done through workshops with professional groups. The highlights of this study are as follows: 1) The results applying the methods developed for drawing out job competencies to the duties of investigation & research part in R&D job were presented as an example. 2) The job competencies of the company totaled 215 in 21 jobs irrespective of overlapping, which means each job has about 10 competencies on the average. 3) The common job competencies of the whole company totaled eight. namely: competency for collecting information/processing/analyzing, communication competency, presentation competency, competency for utilizing the web, competency for planning projects, competency for solving problems, competency for understanding organization/business/products of the company, and competency for satisfying customers.
