  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the nature of the cultural competence of the staff in Saeil Center, which supports the self-reliance of immigrant women by marriage, and to find ways to improve their cultural competence. The assumption is that the higher cultural competence of the staff enhances the quality of their job training for immigrant women by marriage. I conducted the study from June to September, 2017, and in-depth interviewed the staffs from seven Saeil Centers across the country, who had been involved in the job training for immigrant women by marriage for at least three years. The interview data elicited 60 meaningful statements, 27 themes, and 11 thematic units, and I discussed, based on the findings, 1) the low level of contemplation of the staffs on the issues related to immigrant women 2) their limitations of friendly communication and altruistic stance 3) their own conscience of main stream and 4) insufficient cultural competence of the staffs as well as in terms of the organizational operation. Finally, I suggested the necessity of educational programs, and also emphasized the importance of developing multiculturalism in the centers.

  • This methodological study was conducted to test a Professional Moral Courage Scale(PMCS) translated in Korean for 196 nursing students in Changwon, Korea. Data were collected from January 13 to February 20, 2017. An internal consistency reliability and construct validity using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were conducted. These items were categorized into 4 factors explained 62.20% of the total variance. 4 factor model was validated by CFA(${\chi}2/df=1.89$, p<.001, RMR=.055, GFI=.93, AGFI=.89, CFI=.92, RMSEA=.067). The Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was .79 and the reliability of subscales ranged from .44 to .80. The results show that this scale can provide scientific and empirical data when evaluating the PMCS of further clinical nurses, it is meaningful in the sense that it is the first attempt to measure the moral courage needed to provide a good nursing.

The subjects of this study were 227 persons with physical disabilities in D city. The analysis method was analyzed by factor analysis, frequency analysis, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 21.0 program. The results of this study are as follows: First, there is a high level of community attachment to male(sex), 40's and 50's(by age group) and 1st and 2nd grade(by disability grade). • As crime has actually increased in recent years, various mobile applications related to safety and emergency measure have received much attention. Therefore, IoT (Internet of Things) technologies, which connect various physical objects with Internet communication, have been also paid attention and then diverse safety services based on IoT technologies have been on the increase. However, existing mobile safety applications are simply based on location based service (LBS). Also, as they are independently operated without the help of another safety systems, they cannot efficiently cope with various safety situations. So, this paper proposes the efficient smart safety service architecture with both the risky situation detection using user location as well as various sensing information and the risk congruence measure using the streetlight infrastructure. Additionally, UDID (unique device identifier) is utilized for the secure communication with the control center.

  • If project time extension were required in the construction projects, either liquidated damages or extension costs should be applied according to causation of the schedule delays. However, in actual cases it is not applied so far according to the contract conditions. The reason why this situation happened Is that function of the present planning and scheduling is not working feasibly. The CPM schedule could not provide a proper solution for apportioning responsibility for the schedule delays. This situation could be considered as breach of contract and will cause potential disputes for schedule delay. Therefore, in this research process based contract administration model for construction delay claim is proposed to prevent schedule delay and solve the claims. The model is based on pro-active management for causation of delay to provide apportionment of responsibility and written evidences.

  • Recent environmental issues such as genetically modified organisms, the loss of biodiversity, climate change, and nuclear waste cannot be reduced to a matter of science or society and explained through nature-society dualist approaches because of their complexity and heterogeneity. This paper examines how nature-society dualism has been embedded in science studies and geography and how this dualism can be overcome. Actor-Network Theory as an attempt to overcome this nature-society dualism is appropriate in analysing "strange imbriglio" of biology, politics, technoscience, market, value, ethics and facts that constitute our society by focusing on heterogeneous association, and can contribute to providing a useful framework to solve environmental problems.

  • The aim of this study is to suggest basic data about efficient motivation plans for improving the image of the design and Construction Management (CM) field and enhancing professional consciousness of employees. The major findings and conclusions of this study are as follows. First, the employees in design firms had a relatively high level of dissatisfaction with the 'Reduction of work hours', and those in CM companies had a relatively high level of dissatisfaction with the 'Fringe benefit conditions'. Second, when the effects of the items of job satisfaction on overall job satisfaction were analyzed through factor analysis, job performance satisfaction had the biggest effect on the employees in design firms, and intrinsic reward and opportunity satisfaction had the biggest effect on those in CM companies.

  • Recently, the housing problem has been recognized as a matter of housing supply with a certain environmental level and not simply a matter of handing as a quantitative problem, and the demand for pleasant residential environments and requirements for residential environments are increasing more and more. However, it is necessary to establish the directions for improvement of the residential environment according to the house type, as the requirements and levels of satisfaction differ. This study aimed to deduce the level of resident satisfaction with the residential environments according to house type, and determine the direction for improvement of the residential environment. To achieve this, the difference between the house types was analyzed through ANOVA analysis and T-Test, and the major factors on the improvement direction of the residential environment were derived through Action-grid analysis.

  • Just as social welfare facilities and system are the barometers of a nation's quality & standard of living, the facilities of student's union building symbolizes level of welfare facilities and systems of a university. A university is a group of individuals searching for and studying the truth, so it is the highest of all education centers. At the same time, a university builds one's character. this infers that leisure activity in a university is a condition that facilitates the ability to create a healthy body and healthy soul. Additionally, active experiences for a human social life take people away from daily stresses and release the tensions of university studies. Therefore, a university campus should be built not only for students researching and studying, but also to aid in the growth of a students body, soul and mind. When creating a university master plan, increasing the number of students, promotion of a good educational environment and preparation of students for future development should be of primary consideration. There are several factors to aid this. The factors are; the academic plan, leisure activity, the belief system of university student and physical and environmental factors. • This study is to present an improvement of security for the National Assembly by survey of persons who use the National Assembly facilities. Most of respondent said that their security consciousness level is above average, and they know National Assembly building is National Major Facility First class but they did not know well what the Major Facility First class is. Many of respondents thought security design of National Assembly building is inadequate, so reinforcement of access control management is necessary. For reinforcement of access control management, security gate and preparing of some obstacles are required. They said that they could put up with inconveniences incurred as a result of reinforcement of access control management, that could be affected positively for the reinforcement. The recognition on the necessity of security education is high, but there is no proper security education program. For practical security education, contents and different method followed by different facilities user should be considered.
