This study focuses on whether early childhood education institutes operate libraries and find out if those environments are suitable for reading, and to investigate on educations on reading by utilizing libraries and how it's perceived by surveying and analyzing. As a result, it was found that there were higher rate of institutions with active libraries and as for the reasons for needing an assigned librarian were found to be in the order of 'to educate young children for reading' and 'for the systematic management of books'. Points of necessity for the efficient reading education was found to be 'establishing of staff system with professional knowledge' and 'development of reading education programs.'

This study tried to analyze the case of character education class using reading for pre-primary early childhood teachers. To this end, the criteria for character education were established based on literature research, and a list of books appropriate for it was selected, and then applied to practice. The goal of character education class using reading for pre-school teachers is to cultivate the character that an early childhood teacher should have and to develop the ability to apply character education program through reading to young children. This study selected books based on the contents of personality virtues after taking a course on the concept and theory of personality contents for college students who are taking the 'personality and emotional reading' course in their major. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it presents contents that can be practiced in connection with the family as a personality education program that can be applied not only to pre-primary teachers, but also to early childhood teachers and young children.

This analysis of the children's books used in kindergarten classroom activities focused on educational meanings of the books. The analysis included books used in 8 kindergartens in 1999. Finding were that 76.6% of books were published in the 1990s; 60.7% of the lines per page were over 5 lines; only 55 of 542 books were recommended as good books by public institutions; half of the books provided factual knowledges or informations; Korean books included more realistic than fantastic fiction while the opposite was true of foreign books; in Korean books, male characters appeared far more often than females; 70.1% of the themes of the books were related to the ten themes of life suggested by the Ministry of Education; and 44.8% of the contents included moral values while only 17.5% of those included adventure, hobbies or pastimes.

This study is to distribute 5-year-old nuri curriculum science education contents in child picture books, and to investigate the categorical difference of science education contents between domestic and foreign picture books and among genres. The subjects were 219 picture books for children from 4 to 7, listed in which is published by Children's Book Study Group in 2012 and 2013. The research tool was from the article of 5-year-old nuri curriculum nature study, to analyze the contents of young children science education in the child picture books. Content analysis categories was set to two upper-categories and seven sub-categories. Research data were calculated in the analysis of the frequency and percentage of each item's category by the method of analysis conformity. In conclusion, first, in the analyzed result of the upper categories of young children science education contents in 219 picture books, the frequency appeared in order of 'Curious to maintain and expand', 'Learn living things and the natural environment', 'To explore the investigation technique', 'To enjoy the investigation technique', 'Utilize simple tools and machines', 'To search objects and materials', 'Learn natural phenomena'. Second, in the compared result between the domestic and foreign picture books and among genres, "scientific inquiry" is appeared more than "fostering an attitude of exploration".

The purpose of this was to analyze the current situation of preschool education in the YanBian area, China, and put forward some policy implications for the field of education in the area. One class of children who were arranged by their teachers participated in this study. Quantitative data of the educational situation from 2011 to 2013 were collected and data analysis was conducted to analyze the current situation in the YanBian area. The results of data analysis indicated that there have been a variety of situational issues and problems in the preschool education of the YanBian area, and it needs improvement. On the other hand, improvement and development in the area has been going on. Still some areas have not developed yet. Some suggestions and implications will be suggested for the educational future in the YanBian area, China.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of home and classroom literacy environments on the reading interests of 104 young children aged 4-5 years old. Their 104 mothers and 52 preschool teachers also participated in this study. The instruments modified and used in this study were the questionnaire which was developed by Fitzgerald(1991), Dickinson, Temple, Hirschler & Smith(1992), and the Primary Pupil Reading Attitude Inventory by Askov & Fischbach(1973). The results of this study were as follows. First, there were significant relationships between children's physical and psychological home literacy environments and reading interests. Second, there were also significant relationships between children's physical and psychological classroom literacy environments and reading interests. Third, home and classroom literacy environments, especially physical environments of home and psychological environments of classrooms, had an influence on children's reading interests. On the basis of this study, enough provision of literacy environments may help to improve children's reading interests, leading to better reading and writing ability.

최근 증강현실(Augmented Reality)에 대한 관심이 증대되고, 이와 관련된 기술들이 발전함에 따라서 증강현실이 다양한 분야에 적용하려는 시도가 늘어나고 이에 대한 활용에도 기대가 모아지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 증강현실을 이용하여 유아용 학습 콘텐츠를 제작하고 구현하였다. 구현한 콘텐츠는 가상세계와 실제세계의 정확한 상호작용을 위하여 도서의 표지에 있는 마커에 유아에게 친숙한 캐릭터를 띄우므로 집중력을 높임과 동시에 학습보조자가 원활하게 콘텐츠를 사용할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 콘텐츠의 페이지마다 여러 마커를 동시에 두어 콘텐츠의 일부분이 장애물에 의해 가려지더라도 원활한 마커 인식을 할 수 있도록 하였고 상황에 맞게 3D 모델(2D, 동영상 포함)이 증강되는 동시에 사운드가 재생되도록 하여 학습에서의 현존감과 몰입을 높여 학습효과를 극대화하는 결과를 얻을 수 있도록 제작하였다.

The purpose of this study is to develop an automatic classification system for recommending appropriate books of 9 enneagram personality types, using book information data reviewed by librarians. Data used for this study are book review of 501 recommended titles for children and young adults from National Library for Children and Young Adults. This study is implemented on the assumption that most people prefer different types of books, depending on their preference or personality type. Performance test for two different types of machine learning models, nonlinear kernel and linear kernel, composed of 360 clustering models with 6 different types of index term weighting and feature selections, and 10 feature selection critical mass were experimented. It is appeared that LIBLINEAR has better performance than that of LibSVM(RBF kernel). Although the performance of the developed system in this study is relatively below expectations, and the high level of difficulty in personality type base classification take into consideration, it is meaningful as a result of early stage of the experiment.
