Position Controller Implementation Using the Fractional Order Derivative (유리차수 미분을 이용한 위치제어기 구현)

  • This study aims to apply the mathematical method of fractional order derivatives to the controller that controls the system response. In general, the Laplace transform of the PID controller has an exponent of the integer order of s. The derivative of the fractional order has a fractional exponent of s when it is transformed by Laplace transform. Therefore, this controller proposes a design method with the result of discrete time conversion. Because controllers with fractional exponents of s are not easy to design. This controller is applied to a standard secondary system and its performance is examined. Then, it applies to solenoid valve which is widely used in industrial field. A Luenberger's observer was designed to estimate the disturbance state and the observed state was applied to the fractional order controller. As a result, uniform and precise control performance was obtained. It was confirmed that the position error of the steady state is within 0.1 [%] and the rising time is within about 0.03 [s].

Comparison of Recurring Decimal Contents in Korean and Japanese Mathematics Textbooks (우리나라와 일본 수학 교과서의 순환소수 내용 비교)

  • In this paper, to provide an idea for the 2022 revised mathematics curriculum by restructuring the content of the 2015 mathematics curriculum, the content elements of recurring decimals of textbooks, which showed differences in the curriculum of Korea and Japan, were analyzed. As a result of this study, in Korea, before the introduction of the concept of irrational numbers, repeating decimals were defined in the second year of middle school, and the relationship between repeating decimals and rational numbers was dealt with. In Japan, after studying irrational numbers in the third year of middle school, the terminology of repeating decimals is briefly dealt with. Then, when learning the concept of limit in the high school <Mathematics III> subject, the relationship between rational numbers and repeating decimals is dealt with. Based on the results of the study, in relation to the optimization of the amount of learning in the 2022 curriculum revision, implications for the introduction period of the circular decimal number, alternatives to the level of its content, and the teaching and learning methods were proposed.

Prediction of the Drying Time under the Various Operational Conditions using a Sublimation Model (승화 건조모델에 대한 운전방법별 건조시간의 예측)

  • A mathematical model of freeze drying by sublimation was suggested and used to estimate the drying time. Under the various conditions, the drying time of pure water and carrot was numerically calculated for the suggested model. Optimal policies of freeze drying were investigated experimentally in a laboratory freeze dryer. It was found that the shortest drying times could be obtained when the chamber pressure and condenser temperature were kept at their lowest values and the best method of heat transfer for sublimation was the conduction involving radiation. The sublimation drying period was finished when the bottom temperature of material could be reached at near $0^{\circ}C$ from frozen temperature.

  • Dependent type은 유리수, 리스트 함수, 행렬 곱 등 여러 가지 타입들의 제약 사항들을 충실히 표현하는 데에 필수적이기 때문에 이를 지원하는 타입 시스템을 탑재한 언어를 새로 개발하거나 기존 언어의 다른 특성들을 활용하여 이를 모의(simulate)하려는 시도가 다각도로 진행되고있으며, Haskell 타입 레벨 프로그래밍도 이런 모의 기법 중 하나다. 기존 타입 레벨 프로그래밍은 변별력의 손실이 없는 대신 이로 인해 관련 함수들의 타입이 복잡해지거나 확정하기 어려워지는 경우가 많아서 잘못된 프로그램을 작성할 위험 부담이 커진다. 실제로 dependent type이 필요한 경우들 중에는 매우 간단한 변별력만을 요구하는 경우가 많으므로, 귀납적 자료형을 이진 추상화하여 일부 변별력을 포기하는 대신 상대적으로 간단하게 dependent type과 관련 함수들의 타입을 확정하는 간소화된 타입 레벨 프로그래밍 기법을 제안한다.

A Study on Changes of the Textbooks due to the shift of Pythagorean Theorem (피타고라스 정리의 이동으로 인한 제곱근과 실수 단원의 변화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to understand how the shift of the Pythagorean theorem influenced the representation of irrational numbers in the 3rd grade textbook of 2015 revised mathematics curriculum by textbook analysis. Specifically, the changes in the representation of irrational numbers were examined in two aspects based on the nature of irrational numbers and the teaching and learning methods of the 2015 revised mathematics curriculum. First, we analyzed the learning opportunities related to the existence of irrational numbers that were potentially provided by treating irrational numbers as geometric representations in textbooks, and confirmed that Pythagorean theorem was used. Next, we analyzed opportunities to recognize the necessity of irrational numbers provided by numerical representations of irrational numbers. This study has significance in that it confirmed the possibility and limitation of learning opportunities related to the existence and necessity of irrational numbers that were potentially provided by changes in irrational number representations in the 2015 revised textbooks.

STUDIES ON FREEZING OF YELLOW SEA BREAM 1. Effects of Freezing and Storing Temperature and Chemicals on the Quality of Yellow Sea Bream (옥돔의 동결에 관한 연구 1. 동결저장온도와 약품처리가 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • The quality changes of yellow sea bream, Branchiostegus japonicus japonicus, during frozen storage were mentioned from the view point of commercial value. The experiments were conducted to find out the effective storing method by varying the storage temperatures $(-5^{\circ}C,\;-35^{\circ}C)$ and pretreatment with chemicals $(0.l\%\;BHA,\;1\%\;sodium\;Polyphosphate)$. The samples were stored for 6 months at $-5^{\circ}C$ and $-35^{\circ}C$ after dipping in the chemical solutions and packing with polyethylens film. The extractibility of salt soluble protein of sample stored at $-35^{\circ}C$ was higher than that of samples stored at $-5^{\circ}C$, while the chemical treatments were not so much effective. Difference in the amount of free water released from samples was obvious between $-5^{\circ}C$ and $-35^{\circ}C$ storage, and that of samples treated with sodium Polyphosphate was much less than the BHA-treated ones. VBN content was differed by varying the storage temperature whereas no effect by the chemical treatments. TBA value of the sample storage at $-35^{\circ}C$ was lower than $-5^{\circ}C$ and the effect of chemicals on the development of oxidation was in order of sodium polyphosphate, BHA and control. Carotenoid content also changed by varying the storage temperature and the color was completely faded out with quality deterioration after 3 months storage at $-5^{\circ}C$.

Evaluation of the Addition of Sodium Lactate and a Fat Replacer in Very Low-fat Bologna (model system) on the Product Quality and Shelf-life Effect during Refrigerated Storage (젖산나트륨과 지방대체제의 첨가가 냉장저장 중 저지방 볼로나 소시지의 품질 및 저장성에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was performed to investigate the effect of sodium lactate (SL, 60%) and a mixed fat replacer (FR) on the product quality and shelf-life effect of low-fat bologna sausage (LFBS) in a model system during refrigerated storage. Low-fat and regular-fat bologna sausages had pH values ranged from 6.15 to 6.30 and water activity values ranged from 0.95 to 0.96. LFBS had a moisture content of 74~76%, <2% fat and 14~15% protein, whereas regular-fat bologna had 60% moisture, 22% fat and approximately 12% protein in the final products. Expressible moisture (%) increased (p<0.05) in all bolognas, resulting in the soft texture, as the storage time (weeks) increased. LFBS manufactured with SL and a FR had lower (p<0.05) the cooking loss (%) and had higher (p<0.05) texture profile analysis (TPA) values than the regular-fat counterpart. As the sodium lactate level increased up to 5% in the formulation of LFBS, vacuum purge and TPA hardness values also increased (p<0.05), but thiobarbituric acid (TBA) values decreased (p<0.05). Total plate counts of LFBS were reduced (p<0.05) when the addition level of 60% SL solution was more than 3.3%. This result indicated that the increased level of SL (>3.3%) in the combination of a FR in the formulation of LFBS improved the product quality and did inhibit the total microbial growth of LFBS during storage, as compared to the control.

Approximate Solutions of Equations in Chosun Mathematics (방정식(方程式)의 근사해(近似解))

  • Since JiuZhang SuanShu(九章算術), the basic field of the traditional mathemtics in Eastern Asia is the field of rational numbers and hence irrational solutions of equations should be replaced by rational approximations. Thus approximate solutions of equations became a very important subject in theory of equations. We first investigate the history of approximate solutions in Chinese sources and then compare them with those in Chosun mathematics. The theory of approximate solutions in Chosun has been established in SanHakWonBon(算學原本) written by Park Yul(1621 - 1668) and JuSeoGwanGyun(籌書管見, 1718) by Cho Tae Gu(趙泰耉, 1660-1723). We show that unlike the Chinese counterpart, Park and Cho were concerned with errors of approximate solutions and tried to find better approximate solutions.

Analysis on Ratio and Proportion Concepts: A Story of a Fourth Grader (4학년 아동의 비와 비례 개념 분석)

  • The concepts of ratio and proportion do not develop in isolation. Rather, they are part of the individual's multiplicative conceptual field, which includes other concepts such as multiplication, division, and rational numbers. The current study attempted to clarify the beginning of this development process. One fourth student, Kyungsu, was encourage to schematize his trial-and-error-based method, which was effective in solving so-called missing-value tasks. This study describes several advancements Kyungsu made during the teaching experiment and analyzes the challenges Kyungsu faced in attempting to schematize his method. Finally, the mathematical knowledge Kyungsu needed to further develop his ratio and proportion concepts is identified. The findings provide additional support for the view that the development of ratio and proportion concepts is embedded within the development of the multiplicative conceptual field.

  • The use of general-purpose divider is inevitable to implement a image down-scaler when an arbitrary scaling ratio is given. To get an output at every clock from the divider, the divider should be implemented by LUT, however, its hardware size will be bigger and bigger as the precision level is increased. In this paper, a new image scaling algorithm is presented for a arbitrary scaling ratio, which do not requires a general-purpose or LUT-based divider. The proposed algorithm utilizes only comparators and adders such that the hardware size can be reduced by 1/10 compared to the conventional approaches.
