  • Today rapid change in information and economy takes the changing of office design. It is very important to understand about the needs of employees and working environment. To promote the efficiency and comfort of the working environment, diverse employee's working characteristic and individual requirements have been observed. To build a good working environment, flexibility of space and communication between employees and employer in the office are very important. Due to the business growth, "K" financial company requires more working space. The design idea for the main areas such as the executive officer's room, the reception, the elevator hall, the conference rooms and the working areas in this project targets the harmony of the functionality and the aesthetic. This project could be able to deliver more convenient and comfortable working place by adopting three main concepts, which are modern, simplicity and moderation.

Space Composition Characteristics Analysis of the Community-Centered Shared Office (공유오피스의 커뮤니티 중심 공간 구성 특성)

  • The number of shared offices has increased and changed within the flow of the era into various forms in recent days. Co-working spaces and related shared space businesses are growing fast, keeping pace with the trend recently. It is confirmed that the need of spaces grew 180% since 2015 to 2017. Most of the shared offices in Seoul are placed in Gangnam circle, it is verified that shared office is providing work, space, and community by visiting cases of foreign companies, domestic companies, local companies. Meanwhile, shared space can be categorized into serviced office, co-working space, virtual office, and daily office. It is to consider various target levels by leasing service or the difference of costs. It is divided into forms of dispersion, circulation, and concentration and is planned to increase the utilization of communities' traffic according to the allocation of shared office. The business is conducted network-centered. During the process of communication, members can get chances to exchange and build communities. They are making business ecosystem which they can coexist and grow together. Shared offices have a view of a solution to empty rooms and will last for a while, and it is expected that co-working system be settled as office space and giving people sense of belonging on their workspace.

  • This study intends to design a curation system to support elementary and secondary schools for reusing and sharing instructional materials efficiently. It is proved through interviewing teachers at the chalkface that they utilize instructional materials, and there are some differences between elementary schools and secondary schools about the media for creating the instructional materials, and the purpose of using them. The functional requirements of curation system for reusing and sharing instructional materials are derived from questionnaires. The investigation of the existing curation systems was conducted to identify the strategies for policy, design, standard, and tools for effective operation of the digital curation system. The tasks and the functions of the curation system designed by reflecting the results of this study are as following. The tasks related to individual workspace include 'authentication', 'system configuration', 'registration' of created materials, 'material keeping' for the individual, and 'reusing (editing)'. The tasks related to sharing workspace contain 'receiving' for sharing, 'archiving' for accessing, 'peer evaluation', 'accessing' through the retrieval, and 'bulletin board'.

  • Digitalization is creating a variety of changes and innovations in our business environment. In manufacturing, robots have long been used for automation to innovate processing speed and quality. The RPA brings these innovations in manufacturing sites to the office space. The purpose of this study is to improve productivity for simple, repetitive tasks in these office space. For identify the potential of automation related to productivity improvement, I looked at the concept of business automation, and then simulated the five areas of business documentation works with agile methodology. In conclusion, I confirmed that productivity improvement of 97.3% in quality inspection and 31.7% in editorial design is possible, and examined the direction to apply to actual work. Based on these results, future study will explore the application of Intelligent Process Automation (IPA).

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the 'Modern Architecture Space' represented in Korean melodrama films of the late 1950s. It is assumed that popular films reflect the residential culture, architectural spaces and human activities of those days. For the analysis, a pool of 5 Korean melodramas of the late 1950s was constructed. In these melodramas, the modern architectural spaces were represented as the following: 1) The modern-style residential spaces were emphasized to reflect the interest and longing of the public for western lifestyle. 2) The western non-residential spaces such as work spaces and commercial spaces were emphasized, especially its interior design of western image.

  • In early 20th century, This study focus on exploration of a education for office design This class is focused on planning an office space. Selection of the right places, Setting a concept room plans, and such are studied along with systematically analyzing spaces. Applying concepts, interior plans, interior elements, color and selection of materials are introduced and developed into systematical plans. And the students produce efficiently a portfolio by complementing and/or developing the visual materials and readjusting all the concept of the accomplished assignments during this course that were presented visually by applying techniques of presentation leaned majoring in interior design, in an aesthetical and creative ways.

A Study on the Status of Illumination Environment in Workplaces (업무공간의 조명 환경 실태 조사 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examinethe present illumination conditions in office environment and to suggest an efficient illumination plan in office planning process. Illumination conditions in work environment were surveyed in 6 offices to investigate whether the present illumination conditions were appropriate to the work type. The results of this study are as follows: Most of the general Illuminance level in the area of work were all at an adequate level, except one. The average Illuminance level in the all meeting rooms were met for the standard. Illuminance in the all reception area were extremely over the standard, The illuminations of this area were rather designed according to the image of the company than the standard. As for the illumination method in the area of general work, four offices used a general lighting by a direct lighting type, while two offices used a general lighting and a task lighting at the same time. This survey suggested that first, each company should consider illumination plan in the building planning process, second, illumination plan considering the type of places is needed, and third, illumination environment may be differentiated according to the work type. In conclusion, efficient illumination environment should be considered in office building planning process, especially In terms of illumination materials and methods.

A Study on the Office Space by Gwathmey Siegel (구아쓰미 씨게일의 업무공간에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the characteristics of the office space as designed by Gwathemy Siegel and thereby to understand the current trend of interior design of working space in the United States. Unlike most architects, Gwathmey Siegel have extended themselves into interior designing of over twenty offices including law firms, financial institutions and design firms and have successfully won reputation as interior designers. They have distinguished themselves by their ability to turn up and take advantage of the possbility of shaping in a given structure. Their liberal use of fixed furniture and architectural lighting , in addition to ceilings and walls , set them apart from others in the field . The major design elements and principles of Gwathmey Siegel include, among others : 1) Curved and slanted walls on the floor plans endow the office space with forms. Fixed furniture and architectural lighting frequently serve as from -creating elements. 2) The openness of the reception and waiting areas and the irregularity of the corridor walls add a sense of variety in the office. 3) In terms of color and materials, subtle changes of texture and value and the various patterns of joint lines further enrich the space. 4) The principle of symmetry , rough or partial , as applied in the layout of rooms and furniture creates a sense of balance in the space.

A Study on Differentiation of Pedestrian space -Focused on a Comparison of the structure of Pedestrian space in the Street- (보행공간디자인의 차별화에 관한 연구 -가로의 보행공간구조의 비교분석을 중심으로-)

  • The pedestrian space on the roads shows virtually different images, depending on the local uniqueness that exists in the roadsides, to the one walking. This sort of characteristics of the region originated from the physical special structures of the roadside building the form of the place. Thus, because of the structural difference of the roadside, Pedestrian sense the difference of regions through other images. Research focused on issues of the local roadside sidewalk spaces as what roadside structure is the type that brings out the unique images of the region, and what facets are pursued additionally here, is needed. A roadside of a prosperous region filled with many Pedestrians is selected as the range for the experiment in order to analyze the structure and image of the pedestrian space. Among the roads of the selected region, the structure of the pedestrian space on the roads with more than four lanes was evaluated. As result of the analysis, the images of 10 pedestrian space could be classified into two groups by the difference in proportions of the Df/H(the width of the sidewalk and the height of the roadside building) and the D/H(the width of the road and the height of the roadside building). In order to observe the images of the pedestrian space classified into two groups, the adjectives used to describe the image of scenery were researched, enabling one to induce the images of the two groups form them. One of the images is the image of prosperities, and the other is the image of pleasantness. In addition, as result to the evaluation focused on the characteristic of the roadside buildings in the selected area, it could be divided into two groups, i.e., the commercial region and the business region. The image of prosperities was sensed on the sidewalks of the commercial region, while the image of pleasantness was seen on that of the business region. This study enabled the acknowledgment that in a pedestrian space on a road structure with more than four lanes, the Pedestrian sense different images, depending on the proportional difference in the width of the sidewalk & the height of the roadside building, and the width of the road & the height of the roadside building. This result is expected to be a good reference when a road structure reflecting the uniqueness of its region is to be designed, and especially when the structure of a pedestrian space is to be created.

A Study on the Degree of Preference to the Psychological Environment of Supporting Facilities in Department Stores - Focused on the Privacy and Sociality about Office Space and Rest Space - (백화점 지원시설의 심리적 환경에 관한 선호도 연구 - 업무공간과 휴게공간에 대한 독립성과 사회성을 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the basis data for methods of the plan to make the office space of the psychological environment by survey of preference to users in Department Store. The results are as follows : First, we could know that the space plan has to be considered the privacy and sociality for the psychological environment in office space. Second, we could know that there are efficient methods of space plan to use the cutoff division by partitions, the psychological division by furniture and the sensitive division by material for privacy in office and resting space. For sociality, there are efficient arrangement methods to plan by division type in office space and by opening type in resting space. And it is good method to use by color that is one in esthetical elements. Third, if we considered users, it is good method to use partitions to cutoff from the floor to the ceiling for privacy in office space and to use movable furnitures to cutoff for privacy in resting space. Forth, we could know that there is the difference in methods of space plan to be preferred by user's variables for privacy and sociality in office and resting spaces. Thus, i think that we have to study considering user's variables and types of department store.
