  • This study aimed to examine the effects of integrated simulation practice education for nursing college students on their communication skills, self-efficacy in learning, clinical reasoning ability, and clinical performance through a pre-post quasi-experimental design with a single group. The participants were 41 fourth-year nursing college students from a university located in G City, and the intervention took place from September to November 2023 over a period of nine weeks. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0, and the research findings are as follows. First, after simulation practice education, significant effects were observed in self-efficacy in learning (t=-2.21, p=.033), clinical reasoning ability (t=-2.97, p=.005), and clinical performance (t=-2.84, p=.007), but no significant difference was found in communication skills (t=-.224, p=.824). Second, after simulation classes for nursing students, clinical performance showed significant positive correlations with communication skills (r=.650, p<.001), self-efficacy in learning (r=.440, p<.001), and clinical reasoning ability (r=.824, p<.001). Based on these results, integrated simulation practice education for nursing students appears to be an effective educational method for enhancing their self-efficacy in learning, clinical reasoning ability, and clinical performance. To improve nursing students' clinical performance, it is necessary to operate simulation practices with various scenarios.

  • Generally, teaching in computer Labs is more difficult than teaching in a normal class for teachers to give students systematic learning. One of the reasons is that the students who participate in the class tend to use the programs that are not related to the practice included in the curriculum. Therefore, the students cannot focus on the subjects that they should do. To solve this problem, there are many kinds of systems that can control the students' computers. However, they cannot help teachers to manage the students and computers due to the inconvenience of usage and the lack of functions. In this study, we analyzed the problems in the computer-practice classwork and designed a new system to support that the students can participate in the computer classes with more attention. In addition, it is offered that the computer teachers can manage the classes and the students more efficiently with this new system. For these purposes, the effects mentioned were approved before in the real lab situations. Experimental results showed that the proposed system can improve the rate of the students attention, leading them to get better grades on the achievement test.

  • Let me introduce a teaching method to improve practice capacity in dental laboratary work. I applied theories of layers of modeling and reflection constituting cognitive apprenticeship and peer tutoring to my class. At internet uploading a file showing a practice procedure a week before the class of a course, I let students preview it. During the class I demonstrated the practice procedure in front of students. A superior student and an inferior student paired according to the previous practice grade and a feedback between a peer tutor and a peer tutee was activated. Late in the class, a student self-evaluated his own practice result and had a check of a professor. Finally he compared his own practice result with that in the file uploaded at internet and reflected. This teaching method led to improvement in students' satisfaction and efficiency of learning.

  • This study was performed to find out how to improve the usefulness and effectiveness of the field practice program in Library and Information Science by diagnosing the practical instructor's perception of the overall field practice in the Library and Information Science. To achieve this goal, we conducted a research on the current situation and a measurement in perception of the field practice program through a survey of practical instructors at practical training institutions. We, then, analyzed the factors affecting the perception and examined the relationship between the effects. As a result of investigating the factors affecting the perception of field practice, 'operational accountability for the field practice program' was found to be a significant factor among other factors such as the general characteristics of the practical instructors, the characteristics of library related work and the field practice status of the practical training institutions. And factors of 'practice environment' and 'practice instruction method' have been identified to have a significant impact as a result of analyzing how the six factors constituting the perception of field practice effect on the overall perception of field practice of the practical instructors.
