  • The appearance of the primordial germ cells (PGC's), early gonadogenesis, sex differentiation and sex ratio of the embryo in the viviparous teleost, Ditrema temmincki were investigated by using photomicroscopy. The PGC's were first observed in the fibrous mesenchymal tissue located between the early alimentary tract and the dorsal body wall in the late embryonic development stage. During the period from the hatching to the individual total length (TL) of 4.0 mm the PGC's were evenly distributed in the fibrous mesenchymal tissue between alimentary tract and body wall. But the period of TL 5.0 mm mesenchymal tissue separated from the dorsal body wall, the PGC's moved to the posterior mesenchymal tissue and formed the primitive gonad. During the early gonadogenesis, differentiation of the testis and ovary were distinguished from the arrangement of the germ cells and somatic cells. Gonad of embryo in TL 10.0 mm can be separated into the ovary and testis by external morphology. The testis had a separated form which was consisted with two lobes, and the ovary had a fused form in half-posterior part. In the testicular differentiation of the embryo, histological pattern of the seminiferous tubule appeared when TL of the embryo was to be 25.0 mm, for the seminal vesicle was formed In the individual TL of 30.0mm. The testis of the embryo with TL of 45.0 mm was similar to that of the adult fish in the external and internal structures. In the ovarian differentiation, formation of the ovigerous folds and the ovarian cavity were clearly observed when the TL reached to 30.0 mm. The ovary from the individual with TL of 60.0 mm was differentiated into a similar ovary as seen in the adult fish in the external and internal structure. Right before parturition the total length of the individual was approximately 63.0 mm of which the individual embryo has an ovary containing the oocytes in the chromatin nucleolus stage, or a testis containing the spermatogonia, respectively. And the embryonic sex ratio of female to male was 1.65 : 1. Ditrema temmincki is dioecism and the pattern of sex differentiation is belonged to a differentiation type.

  • Based on the analysis and interpretation of the headwords and poetic words of a group of eleven collecting sceneries of Jeonju, the origin and transformations of the Jeonju-Palkyung(Eight sceneries of Jeonju) investigated by a time-series analysis are as follows. As there is no collection of landscape with a formal structure similar to that of the current Jeonju-Palkyung, prior to the Palkyung by Chujae(秋齋) Cho Soo-Sam(趙秀三, 1762~1849), there is no significant problem in assuming the eight poems in Chujaejib(秋齋集) are the origins of the Jeonju-Palkyung, and it is estimated to have been produced in 1829. In the late-19th century poem 'Wansanseunggyeong(完山勝景)', 'the Palkyung in Yeollyeo Chunhyang Sujeolga', and 'the Palkyung delivered by poet Shin Seokjeong in the Japanese colonial era', only the 'Dongpogwibeom(東浦歸帆)' changed from Dongjipo to Dongchon of Bongdong as for 'Landscape Setting There($L_{ST}$)' according to changes in district administration; despite this change, the fact that they are not too different from the Palkyung of Cho Soo-Sam, also supports this. Moreover, according to the headword concordance analysis, it is proven that the Jeonju-Palkyung was established in the late-19th century and continued to be the region's representative sceneries even during the Japanese colonial era, and later 'Namcheonpyomo(南川漂母)' and 'Gonjimangwol(坤止望月)' were added to expand to the Jeonju-Sipkyung(ten sceneries of Jeonju). But when we see there are famous spots that are the origins of the Jeonju-Sipkyung, including Gyeonggijeon, Geonjisan, Jogyeongdan, Omokdae, and Girinbong, Deokjinyeon, and Mangyeongdae, all of which have great representational significance as the capital of Jeolla Provincial Office as well as of the place of origin for Joseon Dynasty in the grouping of sceneries during the early Joseon Dynasty, including "Paehyangsipyeong (沛鄕十詠)", "Gyeondosipyeong (甄都十詠)", and "Binilheonsipyeong(賓日軒十詠)", the beginnings of the semantic Jeonju-Palkyung should be considered up to the first half of Joseon Dynasty. During this period, not only the fine sceneries with high retrospective merit as the capital of Hubaekje, like Gyeonhwondo(甄萱都), but also the sceneries like Mangyeongdae that reminds people of Jeong Mongju(鄭夢周) and Yi Seonggye(李成桂) in the late period of Goryeo appeared, elevating the status of Jeonju as the capital of Hubaekje and shortening the historical gaps as the place of origin of the Joseon Dynasty. The Jeonju-Palkyung is an organic item that carries the history of the Joseon Dynasty after Hubaekje and has gone through many cycles of disappearing and reappearing, but it has continued to change and transform as the region's representative sceneries. The Jeonju-Palkyung is a cultural genealogy that helps one understand the 'Jeonju Hanpunggyeong(韓風景: the sceneries of Korea in Jeonju)', and the efforts to preserve and pass it down to the next generation would be the responsibility of the people of Jeonju.

  • This article was conducted with the purpose of finding the religious meaning of Jeongeup (井邑) by paying attention to two areas of inquiry. The first examines religious interpretations of the place names of peaks, mountains, and villages that have already existed have existed since ancient times. The second area of inquiry looks into religious narratives about Jeongeup that appear in scriptural records of the Reordering Works of Heaven and Earth (1901~1909) as performed by Kang Jeungsan. Looking at these to areas of inquiry together, the place names and topography inherent in Jeongeup and Kang Jeungsan's various Jeongeup-related Reordering Works, can be summarized as embodying characteristics of 'beginning (始)' and 'origin (本)' which can be further likened to the meaning of 'water (水)' in a 'well (井).' First, Jeongeup equates to the heavenly origin of the Gucheon Sangje (Supreme God of the Ninth Heaven) faith in Jeungsan Thought. Mangje (Emperor-awaiting) Peak is a peak that represent the wish for the Lord's descent to earth. Seonmang (Immortal-awaiting) Village is a village that was waiting for an immortal. Jeung (Steamer-on-Cauldron) Mountain (Jeungsan 甑山) is a mountain on the earth and also the honorific name later taken by Kang Il-Sun. In relation to Jeungsan, it is interpreted that Jeungsan was born and incarnated in the village as a human in response to a plea from all divine sages, buddhas, and bodhisattvas, who had existed since the dawn of time and came to wish for salvation of humankind. This is because both Mangje Peak and Seonmang Village are connected to the meaning of 'mang (望 to await).' Second, the Reordering Works of Jeungsan which related to Jeongeup show that Jeongeup has carries the meaning of 'beginning (始源)' and 'origin (本源).' The character, Jeong (井), in Jeongeup is seen as a place that contains water energy, and symbols and allusions referring to this can be found in various Reordering Works. As a symbol or allusion, the well can be seen as a new start, the lives of all people of the world, the purification of the world, and returning to the original root everything. These symbolic images can be found in the life of Kang Jeungsan from his incarnation to his passing into Heaven. This is because Jeong can allude to the origin by the Ninth Heaven, the beginning of the Later World's paradisiacal land of immortals, and the end of the Former World (Seoncheon 先天).

  • The purpose of this paper is to reaffirm the logical framework of the saju analysis method by recreating the saju model of old-law to study and organize the theories of frame in old-law Myeongri, and then by organizing and comparing the logic structure of the saju analysis method of new-law and old-law. Some believe that Myeongri Theory first appeared in the world in the Warring States Period when they were active with Gwigokja and Naknokja as origin, while others believe that it was origin that "Okjokyeong" was written by Kwak-Bak of Eastern Jin after a while. Since then, Myeongri Theory, which had been organized by Won-Cheongang and Yi-Heojung, has undergone a major transformation since reaching the Song Dynasty Seo-Japyeong. Based on this point, the Myeongri Theory of the previous generation is called the Old-law, and the subsequent theory is called the New-law. The changes in the logic structure of the old-law and the new-law leave a big difference and disconnect between those. But comparative studies have confirmed that the philosophy and logic structure due to natural laws that have not changed much such as the symbolic system of nature called Yinyang & five elements and Cheongan-jiji, the idea of a heavenly response projected in the Three Wonders of heaven, earth and human, and the concept of generation and time in the position of year-month-day-time.

  • Calli were induced from leaf explants of B.falcatum, and selected cell clumps of the calli (900-1, 000${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$) were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 0.1, 0.5, 1.0 or 2.0 mg/L 2, 4-D for 7 days, respectively: The clumps were subsequently transferred onto MS basal medium and subcultured for four weeks. In order to investigate the effect of 2, 4-D pretreatment, the selected clumps were cultured on MS medium supplemented with 0.1 mg/L 2, 4-D for 24, 48, 72, 96, 120 or 144 hours and then transferred to liquid MS basal medium, wherein they were cultured for 4 weeks. Histological observation showed that root initial cells were developed from cells on the surface of clumps or from cells in the inner region. Clumps on the basal medium produced mot within 5 days of culture. The rate of prutruding time was inversely proportional to the concentration of 2, 4-D. The number of adventitious roots per clump preheated with 0.1 mg/L 2, 4-D was an average of 5.2, which was the highest level. On MS medium as control, the clumps formed 3.3 adventitious roots each. As tile concentration of 2, 4-D increased, the number of adventitious roots were declined accordingly: The number of adventitious roots as the period of pretreatment increased upto 120 h.

  • Sex differentiation in the rockfish, Sebastes schlegeli, was studied by using a histological method for the appearance of primordial germ cell, formation of primitive gonad and differentiation of female and male. The primordial germ cells were buried under fibrous mesenchymal tissue between gut and mesonephric duct of pre-larva with a total length (TL) of 6.3 mm at 2 days after parturition. In juvenile of TL $5.2\~5.9cm$ at 65 days after parturition, the gonad composed of a large number of genial cell and formed of cavity along the lateral side of the gonad, differentiated to the ovary. At this time, the gonad formed seminiferous tubules by somatic cells, differentiated to the testis. In juvenile of TL $7.0\~7.2cm$ cm at 115 days after parturition, gonads divided into testis contained pigment cell and ovary absent pigment cell. S. schlegeli differentiated directly into male or female without an intermediate female phase at early indifferentiated stage. Therefore, S. schlegeli belongs to the differentiated type of gonochoristic teleosts. At 350 days after parturition, sex ratio was approximately 1 : 1(p>0.05).

  • This study was conducted to determine the effect of heat stress on laying hen performance during summer. A total of 180 Hyline-brown layers, 98 days of age, were housed in a enclosed house. The daily maximum temperature in the house was ranged $26{\sim}36^{\circ}C$. The egg production was markedly fallen than other days when daily maximum temperature in the layer house became more than $33^{\circ}C$. As water intake and feed intake increased to $490\;mL\;bird^{-1}\;day^{-1}$ and $240\;g\;bird^{-1}\;day^{-1}$, the egg production soared. But it was hardly increased more than them. Based on these results, layer house roof should be amply insulated to improve the egg production of layers. If not insulated, the shade curtain should be installed above roof and cool water sprayed before and after 2 p.m. And layers should be provided cool drinking water of about $15^{\circ}C$ in the day time.

  • Skin-aging is accelerated by the increased expression of MMP-1 caused by the increased skin temperature induced by IR/visible light as well as UV. Thus, the control of skin temperature is important to inhibit heat-induced aging. Many studies have been conducted to lower the skin temperature through the controlling transient receptor potential melastatin 8 channel (TRPM8), which is known as the cold and menthol receptor 1 (CMR1) and is activated at temperature below $25^{\circ}C$. In this study, we first investigated the effect of Ganoderma lucidum extract (GLE) on the TRPM8 expression. Results showed that GLE, hexane (Hex) fractions and water fractions increased the TRPM8 expression in a dose dependent manner. Active compound in Hex fractions were separated by chromatography and analyzed by $^1H$ and $^{13}C$ NMR spectroscopy. The isolated compounds were identified as ergosterol and it also significantly increased the TRPM8 expression. Taken together, these results strongly suggest that G. lucidum extract and ergosterol have the potential as a new cooling ingredient in the cosmetics.

  • In making gardens, garden designers establish a principle using specific colors, collect materials, and combine them with their own aesthetic senses. This study is design mothed through the species and characteristics of flowering plants used in the Barrington court created by Gertrude Jekyll and Sissinghurst's white garden created by Vita Sackville-West, both of which are the most renowned gardens that used the white color. The analysis of each individual plant used in the gardens will be based on the season, colors, shapes, plant heights and aromaticity. Through their gardens, how the flowering plants aesthetically united with each other in creating the white gardens will be reviewed. To represent the freshness of spring, Jekyll planted Campanula spp. and Lilium spp. in the garden. Vita Sackvill-West aims at the moonlight in a summer night and features Delphinium spp., Rosa mulliganii, and R. longicuspis. The color of the flowers is in white, varying from pure white, ivory and silver. To prevent monotony due to monocolor flowers, the forms of the flowers are intense. To make white flowers look better, the colors of leaves include light green, light gray and bright and greenish yellow. Overall, cool colors are used to give a mystique, coolness, cleanness and to produce an fascinating and plaintive atmosphere, getting joined with white flowers and reflected light in the night. The White Garden has made significance in the history of landscape architecture: it was the starting point of garden design through theme colors, based on the idea and technology of planting design methods that discover the potential of colors and withdraw limits. And it also made a significant contribution to the advancement of garden art with combinations by aesthetic principles.

  • A transformer is a device that changes the current and voltage by electricity induced between coil and core steel, and it is composed of metals and insulating materials. In the core of the transformer, the thermal load is generated by electric loss and the high temperature can make the break of insulating. So we must cool down the temperature of transformer by external radiators. According to cooling fan's usage, there are two cooling types, OA(Oil Natural Air Natural) and FA(Oil Natural Air Forced). For this study, we used Fluent 6.2 and analyzed the cooling characteristic of radiator. we calculated 1-fin of detail modeling that is similar to honeycomb structure and multi-fin(18-fin) calculation for OA and FA types. For the sensitivity study, we have different positions(side, under) of cooling fans for forced convection of FA type. The calculation results were compared with the measurement data which obtained from 135.45/69kV ultra transformer flowrate and temperature test. The aim of the study is to assess the Fluent code prediction on the radiator calculation and to use the data for optimizing transformer radiator design.
