  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship and degree of agreement between the six types of Geometry Psychological Assessment (GEOPIA) and four functions of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) personality test, and to investigate the appropriate level of vocational aptitude commonly recommended by each tool. A total of 377 adult men and women from Korea, aged between 19 and 70 years, were tested using GEOPIA and the MBTI. Cronbach's alpha was calculated to verify the validity and reliability of the measuring tools, and the mean and standard deviation of each variable were calculated. Also, a cross-sectional analysis was conducted to examine the relationship between GEOPIA and the MBTI. The results showed that Round/Triangle (RT) types, Round/Box (RB) types, Triangle/Box (TB) types and Box/Curve (BC) types among the GEOPIA personality types are highly related to MBTI's Sensing/Thinking (ST) types. GEOPIA RC types were related to Intuition/Feeling (NF) and Sensing/Feeling (SF) types, and TC types were highly related to Intuition/Thinking (NT) types. Based on the common characteristics of the two tests, the findings suggest appropriate levels of vocational aptitude. Through this research, it was confirmed that GEOPIA (a Korean psychology and personality test) can be used in counseling, coaching, and education, and above all, is a reliable tool for vocational psychological assessment to search for career aptitude.

  • The aim of this study was to provide fundamental information on the validity and credibility of the Korean geometric psychological assessment (GEOPIA) by investigating the degree of relation between the GEOPIA and the MBTI. Data was collected from 331 subjects aged 19 to 70, residing in Seoul, Gyeonggi Province, Jeolla Province, or Gyeongsang Province. Participants completed the GEOPIA and the MBTI during the period of May to September 2017. The study calculated Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ to verify the tests' validity and reliability through SPSS. For the relational analysis between the results of the tests, we conducted a one-way analysis of variance on the first group of the GEOPIA's personality types, and the Scheffe Test if significant relationship was found. The study found that the circle type was predisposed to ESFJ, the triangle type to ESTJ, the rectangle type to ISTJ, and S type to INFP. Higher scores of feeling (F) and perceiving (P) corresponded to circle and S types, thinking (T) and judging (J) for triangle and rectangle types, extroversion (E) for circle and triangle types, and introversion (I) for rectangle and S types. These confirmed the substantial relations between the GEOPIA and the MBTI.

  • The purpose of this study was to determine Enneagram personality type and the degree of clinical practice stress by personality type among nursing students, as well as to set a direction for student counseling and develop a management program. For this purpose, the Enneagram personality type inventory, developed by the Korea Enneagram Spirituality Institute, and a clinical practice stress scale were applied to juniors and seniors majoring in nursing in a district who were in clinical practice. The results were analyzed using an SPSS 25.0 program. Type 2 among the nine Enneagram personality types accounted for 47.66% while in the strength- centered area, the emotional area accounted for 64.84%. As for the degree of clinical practice stress by Enneagram personality type, Type 6 was most vulnerable to the training environment, Type 4 to an undesirable role model and conflicts with patients, and Type 5 to the burden of training tasks and conflicts in interpersonal relationships among the sub-areas of stress. As for the degree of clinical practice stress by the strength-centered area of Enneagram, the thinking type was most vulnerable to the training environment, an undesirable role model, the burden of training tasks, and interpersonal relationships, whereas the emotional type to conflicts with patients. To put these results together, nursing students varied in Enneagram personality type and differed in clinical practice stress by the strength-centered area, as well as by personality type. It is therefore necessary to provide nursing students with counseling and guidance through an analysis of their personality type.

The participants of this study were 461 high school students. To arose cognitive conflict, an actual demonstration was done for half of the participants and a logical article for the rest. MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) was used to find the learner personality types, and CCLT (Cognitive Conflict Level Test) was used to measure the degree of cognitive conflict aroused when anomalous data was confronted. The results of this study indicated that learner personality types influence the degree of cognitive conflict. First, participants were divided into two personality types via preferences on each of the four preference indices; extraversion (E) or introversion (I), sensing (S) or intuition (N), thinking (T) or feeling (F), judgment (J) or perception (P). The cognitive conflict scores of the thinking types were significantly higher than those of the feeling types. Participants were also divided four personality types according to personality functional types: ST, SF, NT and NF. SF type showed a significantly lower cognitive conflict score than any of the other types. According to the type of learner personality, cognitive conflict was influenced differently by the method of presenting anomalous data. For example, the judgment types had a higher cognitive conflict score by logical argument, and the perception types showed a higher score by demonstration. In conclusion, learner cognitive conflicts were influenced by personality types and the methods of presenting anomalous data.
