Development of Artificial Intelligence Education Content to Classify Emotion of Sentences for Elementary School (초등학생을 위한 문장의 정서 분류 인공지능 교육 콘텐츠 개발 및 적용)

  • In order to cultivate AI(artificial intelligence) manpower, major countries are making efforts to apply AI education from elementary school. In order to introduce AI education in elementary school, it is necessary to have a curriculum and educational content for elementary school level. This study developed educational contents to experience the principle of AI learning at the unplugged level for the purpose of AI education for elementary school students. The educational content developed was selected as an AI that evaluates the emotion of sentences. In addition, to solve the problem, data attributes were derived and collected, and the process of AI learning was simulated to solve the problem. As a result of the study, the attitude of elementary school students to AI increased post than before. In addition, the task performance rate was averaged at 85%, showing that the proposed AI education content has educational significance.

  • Project-based learning is an effective teaching method for improvement of academic achievement and problem-solving ability so that is often applied to programming education. However, a strategy of enhancing motivation is required by a course design considering a learning style of students for advantage of PBL to take effect. Yet, studies on considerations with learning style still lack, when designing project-based programming learning courses for improvement of learning motivation. This research aims to address issues for consideration in designing PBL programming course. Accordingly, we analyzed learning motivation's difference between learning style in PBL programming class. We designed PBL programming course focusing ARCS model, where students making simulation The Kolb Learning Style Inventory is used to determine learning preferences. To assess students' motivation, Keller's Course Interest Survey was used in a pre-post-test-design. The result indicates that pre-post students' motivation differed. Also, we found considerations through comparing difference of ARCS model's detailed elements between learning styles.

A Multicast-Based Handover Scheme for the IEEE WAVE Networks (IEEE WAVE 네트워크를 위한 멀티캐스트 기반 핸드오버 기법)

  • The IEEE WAVE standard specification does not support handover operation since it is designed to transmit mainly the ITS-related messages that are limited in length. More advanced multimedia applications such as Internet browsing and streaming of video clips produced by CCTVs, however, require handover support such that a sequence of data packets can be received seamlessly while an OBU's association with the RSUs changes. This paper presents a new handover scheme that can operate without performance degradation in the cases where there are multiple RSUs in the areas of handover by making use of the IEEE 802.11f IAPP Move-notify messages, based on the fast handover scheme with proactive caching by disassociation messages introduced previously. Experimental results from the simulation shows that the proposed handover scheme outperforms the scheme based solely on multicast.

Assessment Method of Effective Data for Duplex TPMS Communications (TPMS 양방향 통신을 위한 유효 데이터 판정기법)

  • TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System) using the wireless communication technique is defined as the safety aid system to efficiently realize and manage the condition of tires in the vehicle. The wireless communication system of TPMS should suffers from various noise and interferences such as signals of each tire sensor or outside electrical equipments. In order to retain the data reliability of TPMS, we propose an assessment method of the data reliability based on signal-to-interference and noise ratio (SINR) of the received signal. The proposed technique can be widely applied to wireless duplex communication systems based on various sensors. We verify critical SINR values to satisfy data reliabilities of 95%, 97%, and 99% through computer simulation.

A Study on the Indoor Evacuation Using Matsim (활동기반 교통모형 MATSim을 이용한 실내 피난 분석)

  • It is important to conduct various analyzes to evacuate occupants in advance, because the disaster can cause serious injury. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze all the predictable scenarios that may occur. In this study, we propose a method to analyze the evacuation of indoor disaster using activity - based transport model MATSim. We have developed the university building as target area and simulated about 5,000 occupants. The analysis scenarios are set as basic evacuation conditions, exit closures and emergency stair closures. As a result of analysis of each scenario, the evacuation time was analyzed to be about 5:40(340s) in the base scenario, increased by 15% in the scenario 2 and increased by 23% in scenario 3. As a result of this study, we suggest that it is important to manage illegal obstacles of emergency stairs for rapid evacuation. Therefore, this study can contribute to the effective disaster prevention strategy of the building.

Extraction of Road Surface Freezing Section using GIS (GIS를 이용한 도로의 노면결빙구간 추출)

  • This study suggests a method for securing road safety by extracting the expected surface freezing section in planning a route using GIS. When planning a road construction in a mountainous area it is possible to confront surface freezing especially in the wintertime. In addition, it is required assessment data of surface freezing rates in the case of turnkey inspections of newly constructed or expanded roads. Consequently, an analysis method that can quantitatively estimate the surface freezing section and sunshine influence on each section of a road is needed. We can extract the expected surface freezing section which amounted to around 29km of the Donghae highway, with such techniques as three-dimensional modeling, sunshine simulation geographical database construction and spatial analysis using the overlay function of the GIS spatial analysis. This study can be used as a method to assess advance safety which has a direct influence on planning the blueprint that should be approved by a policy maker after efficiently understanding the expected surface freezing section in accordance with hill shade.

Effect of Human Patient Simulator-based Education on Self-directed Learning and Collective Efficacy (환자시뮬레이터활용교육에서의 자기주도적 학습능력과 집단효능감의 변화)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of human patient simulator(HPS)-based education on self-directed learning(SDL) and collective efficacy(CE) for nursing students. This study design was one group pre-posttest. The subjects were 2nd grade 92 students enrolling in the integrated practice. They have no previous experience of HPS-based education. HPS-based education included team based learning, skill training, taking a high-fidelity simulation with Medical Education Technologies, Inc (METI) simulator and being debriefed during 12 weeks. The pretest and posttest were conducted to understand the improvement in SDL and CE. After the subjects had participated in the HPS-based education, they showed statistically significant higher SDL(t=4.24, p=0.000) than before. However, there was no significant change in CE. Based on the results, this study suggests that SDL for nursing students were significantly improved by HPS-base education.

Effects of Outlet Shape on Vehicle Behavior according to Road Friction Coefficient in Interchange (입체교차로에서 노면 마찰계수에 따른 유출부 형상이 차량거동에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to drive on road safely, the type of road design and construction is basically needed to optimize driver's safety and vehicle performance. Although the heavy traffic highways were built by reflecting these factors, the national highways and local roads have still taken a lot of problems. In this study, we analyzed the behavior characteristics of a vehicle according to the speed variation of the vehicle using the PC-Crash program for the traffic accidents reconfiguration at GULUN interchange located Hongcheon in Gangwon Province. the conditions outlet surface of the road for analysis were dry road surface, wet road surface and icy road surface. As a result, we identified the fact that the friction coefficient of road surface and the speed of vehicle affected to vehicle behavior characteristics of outlet shape in GULUN interchange, and showed the possibility that we can verify a problem about road design through to this simulation in advance.

The Multi-layer Neural Network for Direct Control Method of Nonlinear System (비선형 시스템의 직접제어방식을 위한 다층 신경회로망)

  • In this paper, we proposed a multi-layer neural network for direct control method of nonlinear system. The proposed control method uses neural network as the controller to learn inverse model of plant. The neural network used consists of two parts; one part is for identification of linear part, and the other is for identification of nonlinear part of inverse system. The neural network has to be learned the liner part with RLS algorithm and the nonlinear part with error of plant. From the simulation and experiment of tracking control to use one link manipulator as plant, we proved usefulness of the proposed control method to comparing to conventional direct neural network control method. By comparing the two methods, from simulation and experiment, we were convinced that the proposed control method is more simple and accuracy than the conventional method. Moreover, number of weight and bias to be controller parameter are small, and it has smaller steady state error than conventional method.

  • Risk management is a method to 1) identify risks that can adversely affect the cost, schedule, and target achievement performance of a system development project, and 2) manage the identified risks based on the severity and likelihood assigned to each risk item. Risk management is applicable to various fields, since it can manage the cost/schedule and effectively guides accomplishing the target performance by identifying and managing the risks in advance, which necessitates many concurrent studies. This paper proposes a procedure to estimate the severity value for a risk item using a Kalman filter. It is assumed that the severity can be expressed as an equation consisting of cost/schedule loss during the risk event. A linear Kalman filter is used to reduce the error between the true and estimated values, which can eventually save resources spent on the risk management procedure. A simulation test case was conducted to demonstrate the validity of the proposed method.
