  • The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of combine exercise on the fall injury related index and myokine in elderly women. Sarcopenia leads to a loss of strength, alter on to a decreased functional status, impaired mobility, a higher risk of falls, and eventually an increased risk of mortality. Aerobic exercise characterized by rhythmic and repetitive movements of large muscles, for sustained periods that depends primarily on the use of oxygen to meet energy demands through aerobic metabolism, and that is structured and intended to generate improvements in cardiopulmonary fitness, body composition, and cardiorespiratory health. Resistance training has performance in the elderly. As combined exercise therapy can be used to enhance muscle functions and cardiopulmonary functions, it is being highlighted as an effective health management methods for the aged. The myokine has been regarded an important factor of exercise how muscle communicate adipose tissue, bone and muscle to exert beneficial effects at the whole body level.

  • The present study experimentally considers dynamic performance of large floating wave-offshore hybrid power generation platform in extreme conditions. In order to evaluate the motion performance of the large floating hybrid power generation platform, 1/50 scaled model was manufactured. A mooring line was also manufactured, and free-decay and static pull-out tests were carried out to check the mooring model. A mooring line table was introduced to satisfy the water depth, and environmental conditions were checked. Motion responses in regular waves were measured and complicated environmental conditions including wave, wind, and current were applied to see the dynamic performance in extreme/survival conditions. Maximum motion and acceleration were judged following the design criteria, and maximum offset and mooring tension were also checked based on the rule. The characteristics of hybrid power generation platform are discussed based on these data.

  • The aim of this study is to closely examine the changes in their metabolic syndrome index and autonomic nerve systems after the 16-weeks's combined exercise program is carried out on low-level physical strength group (PAPS 4-5 level students). They were divided into two groups; exercise training group (15) and control group (15). This program consisted of five-times-a-week's warm-ups, main activities and warm-downs and it takes 50 minutes per trial. Through SPSS 19.0, all averages and standard deviations of dependent variables were calculated. We first performed Shapiro-Wilk's normality test of the variables. Before verifying the effect of combined exercise program, we tested the equality of means of the variables between combined-exercise-programmed-group and control group through a two-sample t-test and carried out a paired t-test to check if the changes in the variables of two groups before and after 16 weeks are statistically significant. Every statistical test is performed at a significance level of ${\alpha}$=.05. The results are as follows. When it came to metabolic syndrome index, there were statistically meaningful changes in waist measurement, triglyceride, glucose with empty stomach and HDL-C. Also, when it came to autonomic nerve system, there were meaningful changes in all variables. Consequently, it seems that the 16-weeks combined exercise program has positive effects on low level physical strength students.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of changing the order of exercise types on body composition and blood lipid in obese women. The subjects were 40-years obese women. They were trained during the 12 weeks by combined exercise program which included aerobic and resistant exercises. 1. In the cases of weight, A group(aerobics and resistance training)more decreased than B group(resistance training and aerobics). There was not statistically significant difference before and after 12-week combined exercise program between the groups. In the case of body fat mass, A group more decreased than B group. There was a statistically significant difference between the groups(p<0.01). Lean body mass, A group more increased than B group but there was a statistically significant difference between the groups. A and B groups were decreased in abdominal percent fat and there was a not statistically significant difference between the groups. 2. There were not any significant differences between two groups after 12-week combined exercise program at total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride, and high density lipo-protein(HDL) cholesterol. 3. In the case of blood glucose, group A showed more decreased than group B after 12-week combined exercise program. The difference before and after exercise program of A and B groups was statistically significant(p<0.01). In conclusion, the combined training which include resistant and aerobic exercise may use selectively to induce change of body composition and blood lipid for weight loss in 40-aged obese wome
