  • This study conducted a descriptive research to compare the degree of patient safety culture awareness among general hospitals and long-term care hospital nurses. The subjects of this study were 150 nurses who worked for more than 6 months at 2 general hospitals and 4 long-term care hospitals located in 3 cities, the data has collected from October to December 2021. To Measure patient safety culture, the patient safety culture measurement tool developed by Soon Gyo Lee was used. Data were analyzed by 𝑥2-test, ANOVA, and t-test using SPSS 20.0 program. As a result of the study, the variables with high patient safety culture were the nurse's age(F=44.17, p=.000), clinical career(F=62.86, p=.000), and current workplace career(F=26.27, p=.000). Among the subdomains of patient safety culture, leadership(t=2.07, p= .040) and patient safety priorities(t=2.18, p=.031) were found to be higher in long-term care hospital nurses than general hospital nurses. Based on this result, we expected that it can be used as data in developing programs to raise the level of patient safety culture in hospitals and long-term care hospitals.

  • Today, with the development of information technology, hospitals are actively researching hospital information systems that are not limited by time and space to integrate mobile computing technology into the medical field to manage the bulk data of medical information. Nevertheless, most hospitals still spend a lot of time and effort creating manual schedules. In this paper, we studied an optimization model for organizing nurses' shift work and constructed an automated nurse-type job organization system. For nurses working in S hospital, information data, requirements and constraints of nurses were constructed. By applying this, we proposed an optimized scheduling method and built a web-based platform used by head nurses and a mobile app platform used by general nurses to enable real-time interchange and sharing around web servers. Therefore, through the developed nurse needs type automated system, the head nurses will increase the convenience of the nurses to organize the work every month, and general nurses will help them to work more accurately through personal schedule management. It is also expected to increase work efficiency by sharing work schedules among nurses.

  • Currently, the number of Long-Term Care Hospital in Korea is continuously increasing with the increase in the elderly population. Patients admitted to Long-Term Care Hospital are mainly elderly with chronic diseases, and because they are for long-term care, they often die in Long-Term Care Hospital, and the importance of end-of-life care is gradually increasing. In spite of these characteristics Studies on end-of-life care for nurses in Long-Term Care Hospital are mainly quantitative studies, and there is a limit to in-depth understanding of end-of-life care experiences. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to understand the meaning of Long-Term Care Hospital nurses' nursing experienceof end-of-life patients through a phenomenological method, and to describe and understand the meaning of the phenomenon in depth. The subjects of this study were 7 nurses who had worked for more than 6 months at a nursing hospital located in C city. The research method was in-depth interviews, and data were collected from December 2021 to March 2022. The interview date were analyzed by Giorgi's phenomenological method. As a result of the study, 'nurses' attitude toward end-of-life care', 'ambivalence toward life prolongation', 'reality of end-of-life care in Long-Term Care Hospital', and 'reflection on life and death' were found. • As more and more males are participating in the female dominated nursing profession in Korea, they are facing a number of discriminations such as department assignment on the job because of male gender stereotype. The purpose of this study is to examine hospital workers's gender role identity, gender stereotype, and the relationship between those attitudes and gender prejudice against male nurses. The results showed that the androgynous group had lower gender stereotypes and lower prejudice against male nurses than those of the other groups. Hospital workers had a strong tendency to believe that male nurses should work mainly in special departments such as emergency rooms, intensive care units, operating rooms and they think that the male nurses are not fit for caring patients because of the patients' unfamiliarity with male nurses. Gender stereotypes were positively correlated to prejudice against male nurses. Therefore, hospitals should consider developing a detailed plan to encourage a culture of gender equality by tackling the existing prejudice against male nurses so that male nurses can get the same opportunities as female counterparts in terms of department assignment and job promotion.

  • This study was conducted to provide basic data for the development of a nursing manpower maintenance and management program by assessing the relationship among the calling, resilience, leader-member exchange, and nursing work environments of small and medium-sized hospital nurses. Data was collected through a structuralized questionnaire survey conducted on small and medium-sized hospital nurses. The results of this study indicated calling had positive correlation with resilience, leader-member exchange, and nursing work environments, while resilience had positive correlation with leader-member exchange and nursing work environments. There also was positive correlation between leader-member exchange and nursing work environments. Accordingly, there is a need to develop a program to offer motivation to increase calling and resilience from the personal perspective of the small and medium-sized hospital nurses. In addition, a program is necessary to strengthen continuous leadership of the hospital administrator to improve the leader-member exchange and nursing work environment from organizational perspective.

  • This is a user experience study of factors that should be considered in designing home appliances experience service. Untact services are emerging, but the development of home appliances sector is in early stage. Based on the six factors of Stephen P. Anderson's Creating Pleasurable Interface Model, this study conducted surveys, 1:1 in-depth interviews, and participation observations to measure and analyze user experience. In this study, I compared 4060s and 2030s's user experience in that the untact services raise the digital alienation among middle-senior-aged. As a result, there were significant differences between the two, including the opposite satisfaction in terms of reliable, usable and pleasurable factors. I hope that this study will be of strategic help in designing future home appliance experience services.
