지능재료를 이용한 차세대 철도차량기술 (Advanced Railway Vehicle Technology using Smart Materials)

  • Smart materials can adapt to changes of environment like living organs in nature such that they can maximize the performance and minimize the maintenance expense of engineering systems. Such materials have been paid attention ten years ago and applied in the area of industry, aerospace, transportation and civil structures. This paper summarizes smart material technology and shows some application examples in railway vehicles. Also, its future of smart material technology in railway vehicle technology is envisaged based on its possibility and practical aspect.

MR 댐퍼가 적용된 철도차량 이차현가장치의 H 제어 (H Control of Secondary Suspension in Railway Vehicles Equipped with a MR Damper)

  • In general, lateral ride comfort of railway vehicle is mainly influenced by a secondary suspension placed between the bogie and carbody. Higher operating speeds of train results in increased vibration of carbody, which has a negative impact related to the ride comfort. To solve this problem, researches to replace the conventional passive suspension with (semi)active technology in the secondary suspension of a railway vehicle have been carried out. The semi-active suspension using the magneto-rheological damper is relatively simpler system and has advantage in maintenance compared to the hydraulic type semi-active damper. This study was performed to reduce lateral vibration acceleration of carbody related to ride comfort of railway vehicles with a semi-active suspension system. The numerical analysis was conducted by replacing passive lateral damper with semi-active MR damper, and robust control with the MR damper was applied to the 1/5 scaled railway vehicle model.

  • 환경 보호와 연비 향상을 목표로 한 고출력 엔진과 초경량 차체의 차량을 설계하려는 최근의 차량 개발 추세는 진동과 소음의 문제를 더욱 악화시키느 요인이 되었다. 이에 반해 차량을 구입하는 고객은 보다 정숙한 주행 성능을 요구하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 커다란 설계의 변경이나 차체의 중량 증가없이도 ㅈ거용가능한 능동 제어 기술(Active Control Technique)은 차량의 진동, 소음문제에서 훌륭한 해결책의 하나로 등장하였다. 최근까지 능동 소음제어와 관련한 연구는 여러 분야에서 수행되었으며, 실제로 시작차량뿐만 아니라 양산차에 적용된 사례가 있다. P.A.Nelson등은 음향 공동내의 음향 에너지를 최소화시키는 소음 제어에 관한 이론, 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 및 실험에 대하여 발표하였다. 또한 최근의 디지탈 신호 처리기(DSP, Digital Signal Processor)의 개발에 힘입어 해석의 검즈외에도 실제 차량에 적용한 사례도 있다. 로터스(LOTUS,영)는 다양한 시작차를 제작하여 그 효과를 검증하였으며, 닛산(Nissan, 일)은 양산차에 적용하여 판매하고 있는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 능동 소음 제어 장치를 개발하여 승용차에 적용한 결과를 보이도록 한다.

HILS를 활용한 전투차량의 반능동 현수장치 적용에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Appication of Semi-Active Supension Units for a Combat Vehicle by Using HILS)

  • There have been a lot of efforts on the improvement for the ride comfort and handling stability of the combat vehicles. Especially most of vehicles for military purpose have bad inertial condition and severe operating condition such as the rough road driving, and need a high mobility in the emergency status. It is necessary to apply the controlled suspension system in order to improve the vehicle mobile stability and ride comfort ability of crews. A feasibility study is performed on the application of the semi-active suspension system with a magneto-rheological controlled shock absorber for a $6{\times}6$ combat vehicle. First, the dynamic simulation model of the vehicle including the control model for the semi-active suspension system was executed. Based on this model, a hardware-in-the-loop simulation(HILS) system which has a semi-active suspension controller hardware was constructed. After full vehicle simulations were performed in virtual proving courses with this system, the semi-active suspension system was proven to give better ride comfort and handling stability in comparison with the conventional passive suspension system.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the ERSU(Electr0-Rheological Suspension IJnit) and some progress of damping force characteristic of a ERSU. This paper describes overall construction of th'e system design and the manufacturing of ERSU. A model of the ERSU is made by using electric field dependent on Bingham properities of ER fluid. In this paper. the ERSU is designed and manufactured for a light ground tracked vehicle. From the results, it is shown that the damping performance of ERSLJ is better than that of a passive suspension unit. This experimental study might be very useful for the simulat~on and the design of semi-active suspension units.

  • This paper presents a robust and superior control performance of a quarter-vehicle electrorheological (ER) suspension system. In order to achieve this goal, a moving sliding mode control algorithm is adopted, and its moving strategy is tuned by fuzzy logic. As a first step, ER damper is designed and manufactured for a passenger vehicle suspension system, and its field-dependent damping force is experimentally evaluated. After formulating the governing equation of motion for the quarter-vehicle ER suspension system, a stable sliding surface and moving algorithm based on fuzzy logic are formulated. The fuzzy moving sliding mode controller is then constructed and experimentally implemented. Control performances of the ER suspension system are evaluated in both time and frequency domains.

  • 본 논문에서는 MR 댐퍼를 헬기 착륙장치 완충기에 적용하여 반능동형 헬기 착륙장치 시스템을 설계하고, 헬기 착륙장치의 반능동제어를 수행하였다. MR 유체는 자기장 내에서는 유체의 물성치가 바뀌게 되는 빙햄거동을 시뮬레이션 하여 MR 댐퍼의 성능을 평가하였다. MR 댐퍼 내에서 자기장을 설계하고, 자기장의 변화에 대해 내부감쇠력의 변화를 고찰하고 자기장에 따른 착륙장치의 거동을 평가하였다. 또한 반능동형 헬기 착륙장치에 제어 알고리즘을 적용하여 착륙특성 성능을 해석하였고, 수동계의 착륙특성과 반능동형의 착륙특성을 비교하였다.

  • This paper proposes a new type of semi-active direct-drive valve(DDV) car suspension system using piezoelectric actuator associated with displacement amplifier. As a first step, controllable piezoelectric DDV damper is designed and governing equation of a quarter-vehicle suspension system consisting of sprung mass, spring, tire and the piezostack DDV damper is constructed. After deriving the equations of the motion, in order to control spool displacement and damping force the skyhook controller is designed and applied. The performance evaluation of the proposed semi-active suspension system is conducted with different displacement of spool. Then, the ride comfort analysis is undertaken in time domain with bump road profile.

  • 이 논문은 MR 댐퍼를 적용한 맥퍼슨 타입의 반 능동 현가장치의 진동제어에 관한 연구를 보여준다. 맥퍼슨 스트럿의 기하학적 분석을 바탕으로 동역학 지배 방정식이 설립되었으며, 제어기 설계를 위해 평형 점 근처의 비선형적 운동이 선형화하였다. 이어서 시스템의 향상된 반응시간을 위해 새로운 적응 움직임 슬라이딩모드 제어기를 제안하였으며, 시뮬레이션을 통해 범프와 랜덤도로에서 차량으로 가해지는 진동에 따른 제어 성능을 기존슬라이딩모드 제어기 및 스카이훅 제어기와의 비교를 통해 우수성을 평가하였다.
