A Content Analysis of Research Data Management Training Programs at the University Libraries in North America: Focusing on Data Literacy Competencies (북미 대학도서관 연구데이터 관리 교육 프로그램 내용 분석: 데이터 리터러시 세부 역량을 중심으로)

  • This study aimed to analyze the content of Records Data Management (RDM) training programs provided by 51 out of 121 university libraries in North America that implemented RDM services, and to provide implications from the results. For the content analysis, 317 titles of classroom training programs and 42 headings at the highest level from the tables of content of online tutorials were collected and coded based on 12 data literacy competencies identified from previous studies. Among classroom training programs, those regarding data processing and analysis competency were offered the most. The highest number of the libraries provided classroom training programs in relation to data management and organization competency. The third most classroom training programs dealt with data visualization and representation competency. However, each of the remaining 9 competencies was covered by only a few classroom training programs, and this implied that classroom training programs focused on the particular data literacy competencies. There were five university libraries that developed and provided their own online tutorials. The analysis of the headings showed that the competencies of data preservation, ethics and data citation, and data management and organization were mainly covered and the difference existed in the competencies stressed by the classroom training programs. For effective RDM training program, it is necessary to understand and support the education of data literacy competencies that researchers need to draw research results, in addition to competencies that university librarians traditionally have taught and emphasized. It is also needed to develop educational resources that support continuing education for the librarians involved in RDM services.

  • The $^{99m}Tc-phosphate$ compounds, of which methylene diphosphonate is most widely used, were originally introduced as bone scanning agents intended primarily to detect metastatic bone deposit. They may also accumulate in extraskeletal sites including breast. Recently we had the opportunity to observe one case of cystosarcoma phyllodes that was confirmed by tissue biopsy and demonstrated diffuse extraskeletal uptake of $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ in the breast on $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ bone scan in the breast on $^{99m}Tc-MDP$ bone scan. So we present this case with the brief review of literatures.

  • 여기서 상기 ASME Code에 대하여 간단히 설명하기로 한다. ASME Code 는 첫부분에서 ASME Code의 적용을 받아야 하는 압력용기를 정의하고, 압력용기의 건설에 관한 일반원칙을 설명한후 그 다음에는 세개의 Subsection으로 나뉘어져 있다. 즉 Subsection A General Requirements Subsection B Requirements Pertaining to Methods of Fabrication of Pressure Vessels Subsection C Requirements Pertaining to Classes of Material 여기서 Subsection A는 압력용기 재료나 제작방법의 상위와 관계없이 적용하여야 할 일반적인 요구사항을 규정한 것이며, Subsedction B에서는 압력용기의 제작방법을 용접,리벳팅,단조,경납 땜의 4가지로 나누어 각 제작방법에 따른 특수 요구사항을 규정하였고, 마지막으로 Subsection C 는 재료에 따른 특수 요구사항을 규정한 것이다. 이 각 Subsection은 다시 General, Materials, Design, Fabrication, Inspection and Tests, Stamping and Reports, Pressure Relief Devices로 나누어 이에 대한 각각의 요구사항들을 설명하고 있다. 그러나 이 기술기준에서는 제정방향으로, 다음의 목차에서도 알 수 있는 바와 같이 이들의 순서를 바꾸어 총칙,재료,설계,제작, 검사 및 시험, 압력릴리프장치를 배치한 후 이미 KS B 6231에 제정되어 있는 것은 그 규정을 대부분 그 대로 인용하였고, 그렇지않은 것은 우리의 실정을 참작하여 삭제, 보완, 수정하였다. 삭제한 내용 중 대표적인 것으로 공인검사관(Authorized Inspector) 및 Stamping and Reports 에는 9개의 Mandatory Appendix 와 16개의 Nonmandatory Appendix가 있는데, 이둘 중 이 기술기준에서 필요하다고 생각되는 것은 발췌 수록하였다. 단위에 대해서는 국가시책에 따라 메트릭 시스템을 사용하였고 단위의 환산에서 야기되는 소수점등의 처리는 공학적인 판단에 의거하였다.

An Analysis on the Educational Contents of the Research Paper Writing Program through Information Problem Solving Model (정보문제 해결모형을 통한 소논문쓰기의 교육내용 분석)

  • The primary purpose of this study is to identify the educational contents of the research paper writing program. In addition, this searches for the appropriate application method as information literacy instructional course. For clarifying and supporting the purpose, this study analyzes the expository texts with the seven kinds of published references book on research paper writing program. As the results of examination, the study reveals that they are made up with seven important contents. Evidently, this analysis makes up for the information literacy strategy to intensify the information literacy instructional course. Convincingly, we propose the educational contents which contain ideas of 'making research plan,' 'managing information,' and 'writing essay' in order to optimize for the current school library environment.

A Study on the Classification Scheme of Cultural Resource in ACIA (아시아문화정보원의 문화자원 분류체계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a plan of classification scheme to efficiently manage the collected cultural resource in Asian Culture Information Agency (ACIA) of Asian Culture Complex. The characteristic and category of the cultural resources are identified after studying objectives and acquisition policies of ACIA. This paper in here compares classification schemes such as HRAF scheme, UNESCO cultural framework, Folklore Archive scheme, and classification scheme of Academy of Korean Studies. On the basis of it, this study proposes the principle and criterion of the new classification scheme in ACIA. The new classification scheme is classified as the cultural, social, and natural area in sequence. The number of main classes is set up 16 items.

A Design and Implemention of an Article Union Cataloging System Based on Metadata (메타데이터 기반 학술지 논문 종합 목록 시스템 설계 및 구현)

  • As the rapid develoment of internet and information technology, the traditional library has been altered to the digital content service based on the world wide web. This paper proposes a design and implementation of an Artcle Union Catalog System(AUCS) based on metadata. The metadata set for the AUCS consists of twelve Dublin Core elements and one holdings element. The qualifiers of the proposed metadata elements are also represented. The AUCS system has an online cooperated cataloging system using the web interface or the 239.50 protocol, an union cataloging management system, and an integrated information retrieved system service. The integrated search and retrieval service of the AUCS displays not only the summary and detailed bibliographic information, but also the abstract, the table of contents, the digital content, and the copylfax service.

  • 본 논문은 엔지니어링 문서정보를 준구조화된 XML 문서로 변환하고 이를 3차원 교량 모델과 연계하는 방법을 제시한다. 이를 위해 먼저 구조계산서의 세부 목차에 따른 문서구조를 추출하는 기법을 이용하여 3차원 교량모델을 구성하는 각 부재와 매핑되는 구조계산서 문서의 일부를 프로그램 상에서 자동으로 추출하기 위한 모듈을 개발하였다. 또한 3차원 교량모델의 정보를 운영하기 위해 IFC 기반의 교량정보모델을 개발하였다. 개발된 정보모델은 교량요소들의 논리적 구성체계를 공간적 요소, 물리적 요소 및 그룹 요소별로 표현할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이와 같이 개발된 기술을 이용하여 3차원 교량모델 뷰어에서 구조계산서의 정보를 검색하기 위한 시범 툴을 개발하였으며, 4개의 단위 교량으로 구성된 복합형식의 교량에 대한 3차원 모델을 구축하고 각 교량에 대한 구조계산서 또한 XML 문서로 변환하였다. 이와 같이 구축된 두 정보체계에서 사용자가 선택한 임의의 구성요소에 관한 세부 문서정보의 조회가 가능함을 보임으로써 제시된 방법의 적합성을 검증하였다.

A Study on Structure of a Faceted Classification for Organizing Korean Food Information (한식 정보 조직을 위한 패싯 구조화에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a faceted classification that enables the conceptualization and the organization of Korean food information. 23,470 terms were collected, categorized, and analyzed from the table of contents in 776 monographs and directory headings in portal sites related to Korean food. In order to develop the Korean food classification, common properties were analyzed in the process of categorizing terms. Then basic facets and subfacets were defined and assigned, and hierarchies among facets and concepts, citation orders, and notations were decided. As a result, the classification scheme consisted of 16 basic facets and 85 subfacets. The citation order of facets was proposed in order of Personality facet (kinds of dishes), Matter facet (materials, cooking utensils/equipment/containers, and nutrients), Energy facet (cooking processes and techniques, eating sense, type of cooking, table services, and agents of cooking), Space facet (countries/ethnic groups/geography, and eating places), Time facet (situation/purposes, season, time of meals, periods, and ages). The result of this study will be used for organizing, searching, retrieving, and providing Korean food information effectively around the world. Also, it will provide a foundation for developing subject-oriented classification using facet analysis in other disciplines.

Developing Subject Headings for Children's Picture Books based on A to Zoo (어린이 그림책을 위한 주제명표 개발 연구: 『A to Zoo』를 바탕으로)

  • Subject headings support the effective access of children's picture books. However, it is difficult to select subject terms from titles or table of contents in children's picture books because of their relatively little textual information. Therefore, it is necessary to assign subject terms to each picture book. However, it is not adequate to use general subject headings because the types and levels of general subject headings are different from special subject headings for the children's materials. For this reason, this study aims to develop subject headings for children's picture books. The subject terms in A to Zoo were selected, and the selected terms were translated into Korean and modified for the Korean culture and language. Other reference books, such as Elementary Korean Dictionary, were also used to determine adequate terms for children. The resulting subject headings were assigned to the recommended picture books for children and used to search by subject, browse, and recommend books.

Validation of a Self-instructional Foodservice Inventory Control System Module (집단 급식소 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module의 타당성 검증)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 1) 집단 급식소의 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module (Self-instructional Module)을 개발하고, 2) 비동등 통계 실험연구 디자인 (Nonequivalent Control group research design)을 사용하요 자기학습식 재고 관리 시스템 Module의 교육적 효과를 평가하여, 3) 교육기관 및 집단 급식소에서의 교육용 교재로서의 타당성 여부를 검증하고자 함이다. 집단급식소의 재고 관리 시스템에 관한 자기학습식 Module을 개발하기 위해서 현재 미국 전역의 가정대학 내의 식품영양 및 급식경양학과에서 재고 관리에 관련된 교과목을 위하여 채택되어 사용되어지고 있는 주요 교과서들의 내용 분석과 급식경영학 전공 교수 3인의 판단에 기초를 두어 재고관리에 포함되어야 할 내용이 분석되었다. 포함되어져 있는 내용의 목차는 반입(receiving), 저장(storing), 출고(issuing), 재고통제(inventory control), 재고의 자산적 가치(inventory valuation) 및 재고관리 시스템의 자동화(inventory control computer system)등이다. 실험 대상은 Iowa 주립대학에서 급식정보관리 (Foodservice Management Information System) 과목을 수강하였던 88명의 학생이며, 강의를 통해 수업을 받은 통제집단 46명과, 자기 학습식 Module을 사용했던 실험집단 42명으로 구성되었다. 모든 실험 대상에게는 사전검사(Pretest)와 사후검사(posttest)를 실시하였으며 자료의 처리는 SPSS PC Package를 통계법으로 분석하였다. 연구결과는 강의 중심의 통제집단과 자기학습식 Module을 사용했던 실험집단 간의 통제 후 평균 값(posttest adjusted mean score)사이에는 유의적인 차이를 보였으며 (p<0.05), 자기 학습식 Module 그룹에 속해 있던 학생들이 더 높은 통제 후 평균값(adjusted mean score)을 보여 주었다. 그러므로, 이 실험을 통하여, 개발된 집단 급식소 재고관리 시스템에 대한 자기학습식 Module은 학생들에게 재고관리 시스템에 관한 개념과 내용의 습득력을 향상시키는데 있어서 적어도 강의식 교수법과 동일하거나 더나은 교육적 효과를 가져왔다고 판단되었다.
