  • Experts participating in the knowledge expert network externalize their implicit knowledge by providing information or writing reports. Almost all the members of the network share externalized knowledge and the network facilitate the dissemination and diffusion of knowledge. Individuals reproduce another implicit knowledge by internalizing shared knowledge through the network and re-created knowledge is externalized, establishing knowledge circulation. In this paper, we analyze the expert groups of the Global Network of Korean Scientists & Engineers(KOSEN, www.kosen21.org), the Korea's No. 1 science and engineering knowledge expert community, with the application of the theory of policy network proposed by Marsh & Rhodes. According to the principal standards of policy network classification such as the number of participants, interaction among participants, consistency, distribution of resources and dependency, we categorize the KOSEN expert groups as closed policy network and opened issue network, and divide closed policy network into core community and periphery community.

  • With the start of the present Korean Creative-Economy Government, more effort is put to prepare the Unification in many areas. But it is not easy to find studies on contemporary status of North Korea specifically in information technology or computer education due to the poor accessibility to the country. This study is on comparing computer education in elementary schools in North Korea and South Korea and diagnosing future direction of computer education as the beginning stage of Unification. The most study is performed from backtracking curriculum methodology based on computer textbooks from North Korea and South Korea. In both countries, the elementary school curriculum for computer subject is mostly dealing with the usage of softwares. In North Korea they don't teach internet applications and they uses different type of office programs. The further ideas for desirable future education are suggested with analysis on the computer education in other countries such as China and Vietnam which can be appropriate role models for North Korea and USA, UK and India for South Korea. It is expected in both countries that the computer education will be more focused on programming rather than on software usage in the future.

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the components of users' shared value expectation(SVE) on lifelong education through convergent approaches. After reviewing primary data and collecting secondary data with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, the components of users' SVE on lifelong education were categorized into 10 perspectives, 27 measured variables, and 81 questions. After conducting a confirmatory factor analysis, the latent measurement model was confirmed as reasonable. Internal reliability, construct convergent discriminant validity were also confirmed as reasonable. In a viewpoint that builds interdisciplinary theory, this research may help grasp users' SVE on lifelong education with interdisciplinary approaches. In a strategic viewpoint, this study may contribute to both understanding categorized users' value expectation and planning/executing suitable programs that can meet the expectations. In a managerial viewpoint, this result may help measure the effectiveness of SVE on lifelong education quantitatively.

  • Software configuration management is a field of managing sets of large scale software outputs to be the basis of the software products. Configuration management has significantly improved for the past few years, yet new system is still required. Instead of using previous methods or researching about configuration management, professional management of developing project is needed. Therefore, techniques such as storage model for configuration management, management program for change procedure and management of program interface is needed. In this paper, we provide storage for configuration management and implement decision-making system to manage divided program and interface. Thus, we propose a new access method by the configuration management dependency. This paper provides configuration management for developing software to verify and classify using decision-making system for the change and combination of independent components with high dependency.

  • The construction industry has remained stagnant for a long time. So many researchers have wanted to solve this problem not only focusing on enhancement of construction process, but also introducing the culture of cooperation. The Last Planner System(LPS), one of the elementary techniques of Lean Construction, aims for improving the work reliability and reducing variability by measuring and managing the daily or weekly performance for overcoming the weakness of recent complex schedule management tools such as Critical Path Method. This research propose a framework for implementation of LPS conducted by owner focused on construction stage and introduce optimal owner participation model in plant construction, based on needs analysis for construction participants. Furthermore, this research introduce a modified needs analysis, so called IPBA(Importance-Performance-Betterment Analysis), and an advanced LPS procedure which add the needs analysis during pre-LPS and(or) main LPS stages.

  • Many fire-fighters suffer from the burn injuries, and the severe burns are the most catastrophic injury a person can survive, resulting in pain, emotional stress, and tremendous economic costs. It is important to understand the physiology of burns for prevention from skin burns and a successful treatment of a burn patient. But a few researches have been presented because the complex physical phenomena of our inside body like non-linearity characteristics of human skin make them difficult. Thus in this study, thermal analyses of biological tissues exposed to a flash fire causing severe tissue damage were studied by using a finite difference method based on the Pennes bio-heat equation. The several previous models for skin thermo-physical properties were summarized, and the calculated values with those models of tissue injury were compared with the results obtained by the previous experiment for low heat flux conditions. The skin models with good agreement could be found. Also, the skin burn injury prediction results with the best model for high heat flux conditions by flash flame were suggested.

  • Numerous efforts are currently underway to automate pavementcrack and joint sealing activities. Productivity improvements, improved safety and quality, and reduced road user costs motivate these developments. Recently, an automated pavement crack sealing machine has been developed to automate the process of sealing pavement cracks and joints in Korea. This paper mainly describes the results of the economic feasibility analysis revealed through its overall performance evaluation and field tests. Finally, it is concluded that the automated machine exceeds the performance in terms of productivity, safety, and quality required in conventional method, thus making the machine economically feasible.

  • Kinetics of ascorbic acid and browning that may use on the optimization of food dehydration were evaluated. Banana was chosen for this as the representative test material. We have described the destruction of ascorbic acid and browning as first and zero order reactions. The temperature dependence between two reactions were conducted with Arrhenius equation. Finally we have operated SPSS computer programs reapeatedly that we found very dose value of the parameter between result of ascorbic acid and browning. The attained Kinetic models were well prepared for the value of result experiments and the models may use on optimization for dehydration progress. Destruction rate of ascorbic acid and browning rate were low at initiation of progress, increased to show maximum at the low moisture on mid-progress and then decreased gradually. Freeze drying showed the most constant quality of product in this case.

  • As the number of smartphone users have increased, many kinds of malwares have emerged. Unlike existing malwares, spyware can be installed normally after user authentication and agreement according to security policy. For this reason, it is not easy to catch spywares involving harmful functionalities to users by using existing malware detection system. Therefore, our paper focuses on study about detecting mainly wiretapping spywares among them by developing a new wiretapping detection model and application. Specifically, this study conducts to find out power consumption on each application and modular and network consumption to detect voice wiretapping so Open Source Project Power Tutor is used to do this. The risk assessment of wiretapping is measured by gathered all power consumption data from Open Source Project Power Tutor. In addition, developed application in our study can detect at-risk wiretapping spyware through collecting and analyzing data. After we install the application to the smartphone, we collect needed data and measure it.

  • In this paper, we present the methodology about an optimal probability distribution selection as well as survival rate estimation with the national highway database from 1999 to 2008. Probability paper methods are adopted to estimate the parameters of each hazard model. The goodness-of-fit test, such as the Anderson-Darling statistics, was performed. As a result, we found that Lognormal distributionan is an appropriate distribution of newly constructed sections as well as overlayed sections. We also ascertained that the results of survival rate for pavement life between the proposed method and observed data are similar. Such a selection methodology and measures based on reliability theory can provide useful information for maintenance plans in pavement management systems as long as additional life data on pavement sections are accumulated.
