  • This study has three purposes. Firstly, we try to extract the types of the motives of OCBO & OCBI instead of global OCB. Secondly, we compare the types of the motives OCBO & OCBI and those of the motives of global OCB. Finally, using another set of P-sample, we try to find out whether the four types of the motives of OCB found in the study of Kim & Lee(2013) could be found once again. The findings are as follows. First, we found the four types of the motives of OCBO, and three the types of the motives of OCBI. Second we found some similarities and differences at the same time between the types of OCBO, OCBI, & global OCB. Third, except the instrumentality-based type, three of the four types found in the study of Kim & Lee(2013) reappeared in this study. In conclusion, these findings suggest that OCBO & OCBI, the sub-dimensions of OCB, have their own distinctive natures respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze motivations, benefits, and satisfactions of the college student volunteers. We carry out the pre-to-post survey with 615 college student volunteers (male 245, female 367) who have participated in the mobile education program for the elderly funded by a Telecom. The instruments consist of VFI (Volunteer Functions Inventory) developed by Clary & Snyder (1999), including 30 items for motivations, 12 items for achievements, and 5 items for satisfactions of volunteering. The items for motivations and achievements are comprised of 6 subcategories: career, value, understanding, protective, enhancement, and social. The results of this study are as follows: (1) Enhancement motivation is the highest, followed by understanding, value, career, protective, and social motivation. (2) Social benefit is the highest, followed enhancement, career, understanding, value, protective benefit. (3) The difference between motivation and benefit in social category is the largest, followed by career, enhancement, value, protective, and understanding category. While benefit is higher than motivation in all other categories, motivation is higher than benefit just in value category. (4) High motivation-high benefit, high motivation-low benefit, low motivation-high benefit, and low motivation-low benefit groups are dichotomized by the median of each motivation and benefit. In all six categories, high motivation-high benefit group shows the highest satisfaction, but low motivation-low benefit group shows the lowest. In short, benefit shows stronger correlation with satisfaction than motivation does. Finally, we suggest several implications for future research and policy of college students' volunteering based on these results.

In addition, the purpose of this study was to develop and validate a scale to measure the motivation for change for growth and development of general adults. To develop preliminary questions, interviews were conducted with 7 coaching experts and 9 experienced coaches, and an open-ended questionnaire was conducted with 55 adults. Afterwards, 7 factors and 83 questions were selected through three rounds of item classification and content validity verification, and a preliminary survey was conducted targeting 321 general adults, and 42 items, 4 factors, were derived through exploratory factor analysis. did Finally, the main survey was conducted with 631 adults in order to verify the validity of the construct concept of the change motivation scale and the validity of the criterion. Divided into two groups, 315 people in group 1 conducted exploratory factor analysis and 316 people in group 2 conducted confirmatory factor analysis to verify the concept of change motivation scale. As a result of the factor analysis of Group 1, it was found that the 3 factor structure consisting of 31 items was appropriate, and as a result of the confirmatory factor analysis of Group 2, the goodness of fit of the modified model of the 3 factor structure was confirmed, which motivated change. The construct validity of the scale was demonstrated. As a result of analyzing the correlations with various variables for the analysis of convergent validity and criterion-related validity of the Motivation for Change scale, each of the three factors was found to be significantly related to most variables. Finally, the significance, implications and limitations of this study, and future research were discussed.
