  • The reason why Small enterprise cooperatives are important in the history of cooperatives is that they provide the basis for the development of cooperatives. Small enterprise cooperatives are composed of five or more members of small business owners and has received financial support from the government through the evaluation of the business plan from 2013. In 2018, however, Small enterprise cooperatives must be evaluated for five years of performance. In this study, we surveyed Small enterprise cooperatives members in 2015 to identify motivating factors that affect the sustainability and cooperation of Small enterprise cooperatives. On conclusion, intrinsic motivation has been found to be an independent variable affecting the sustainability and collaboration of Small enterprise cooperatives.

  • There are many studies that intrinsic learning motivation and social support play an important role in the study of children and adolescents. However, studies examining the effects of intrinsic learning motivation and social support by measuring the actual academic performance of elementary school students are rare. This study attempted to verify the effect of intrinsic learning motivation on Korean language performance and moderating effect of social support in 5th and 6th graders in elementary school. 122 elementary school students in local county-level areas participated in this study. The Korean language test was conducted about 5 months after intrinsic learning motivation and social support of families and teachers were measured. The results revealed that Korean language performance showed a significant positive correlation with intrinsic learning motivation and social support, and also showed a significant correlation between learning motivation and social support. In the regression analysis with control variables, it was found that intrinsic learning motivation had a significant effect on Korean language performance. The moderating effect of social support was analyzed by dividing it into family support and teacher support. The interaction effect of learning motivation and social support was significant only in teacher support, not in family support. In specific, when teacher support was high, Korean language performance was high regardless of the student's learning motivation level, but when teacher support was low, the student's learning motivation mattered in the performance. Based on the results of this study, implications and limitations were discussed.

The finding show the significant effect of pleasure on intrinsic motivation in both Korea and U.S.A. Arousal has a positive effect on intrinsic motivation in the United States, but it has no relationship wit h intrinsic motivation in Korea. In case of social influence, subjective norm gives a significant impact on extrinsic motivation whereas proved insignificant in the United States. Image is shown to be significantly related with extrinsic motivation in both nations. Also, intrinsic motivation does not posit an effect on UCC usage and creation in Korea whereas it influences on UCC usage and is not related with UCC creation in the United States. In addition, it was observed that UCC usage has a positive and significant impact on UCC creation in both nations.

  • This paper analyzes the actual 'content' and 'role' of the intrinsic motivation of creative laborers during the creative production process. Based on semi-structured intensive interviews with 16 light-entertainment television PDs in South Korea, this paper articulated that intrinsic motivation towards creative work could be understood as a desire to maintain their level of enjoyment from creative work. The desire was classified into two different types of 'enjoyment', one was the enjoyment based on the expectation regarding the creative job, and the 'enjoyment' experienced primarily related to the creative production process that allows creative workers to actualize individual creative ambitions. In addition, such intrinsic motivation tended to provide a strong driving force for creative workers as they endured unfavorable working conditions that resulted from market principles(viewership ratings), economic stability, and work-life balance. This paper proposes that the tendency of creative workers to endure various undesirable working conditions is based on a strong intrinsic motivation to maintain their level of enjoyment from their creative career.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of perceived autonomy support on intrinsic motivation and passion for major students of security martial arts. The subjects were selected 317 people to security martial arts majors universities in the metropolitan area extraction using a convenience sample. AS autonomy support, intrinsic motivation, and passion by research tools construct validity were utilized for statistical verification. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, frequency analysis, exploratory factors analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis using the SPSS 21.0 and confirmatory factors analysis and structural equation modeling(SEM) using AMOS 21.0. The results of this study were as follows. First, autonomy support of major students for security martial arts had a positive impact on intrinsic motivation. Second, autonomy support of major students for security martial arts had a positive impact on harmonious passion. Third, autonomy support of major students for security martial arts had a impact on obsessive passion. Forth, intrinsic motivation of major students for security martial arts had a positive impact on harmonious passion. Fifth, intrinsic motivation of major students for security martial arts had a negative impact on obsessive passion. The results of structural equation modeling showed that intrinsic motivation partially mediated the relationship between autonomy support and harmonious passion. And the relationships between autonomy support and obsessive passion were completely mediated by the intrinsic motivation.

  • Based on the framework of self-determination theory and past relevant literature, the study develops and estimates a causal relationship between intrinsic motivation, career commitment, and turnover intention. The study utilizes data from a cross-sectional survey conducted on 353 child welfare workers of the fields of foster care, child protective services, and child residential care all over the country. The study relies on Structural Equation Modeling(SEM) method. The results of Confirmatory Factor Analysis indicate the validity of measurement model. The results of SEM tests show a good fit of the proposed model. Controlling the level of salary and the working hours of the workers, the model reveals that intrinsic motivation is positively related to career commitment, and that career commitment is negatively related to turnover intention. In other words, the effect of intrinsic motivation on turnover intention is mediated by career commitment. Implications of the findings for practice and study limitations are discussed.

  • As an origin and a starting point of business start-up, this start-up intention is believed to be the driving force of economic growth. Being aware of the importance of the start-up intention, the study looked into cause-and-effect relationships of variables focusing on intermediate roles of start-up self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation in self-leadership and start-up intention of business founders. In order to achieve the research goal, the study conducted both a survey targeting a total of 195 business founders registered at a business incubation center and an empirical analysis on the results of the survey. According to the findings from the analysis, the study first learned that the self-leadership would have a positive effect on the start-up self-efficacy and the intrinsic motivation which eventually proved that the self-leadership is a leading variable of the start-up self-efficacy and the intrinsic motivation. Second, both the start-up self-efficacy and the intrinsic motivation were observed to be positively related to the start-up intention. That finding signified that roles of the start-up self-efficacy and the intrinsic motivation are important to increase the start-up intention. Third, intermediate effects of the start-up self-efficacy and the start-up intention were discovered from the self-leadership and the start-up intention, the main topics of the research. Hence, in order to improve the start-up intention, the importance of the start-up self-efficacy and the intrinsic motivation should be recognized and promoted as well and for this goal to be achieved, the business founders should understand the idea that the self-leadership has to come first than anything else in this case. Based on the results of the research, the study offers theoretical and practical implications.

  • Although many studies have analyzed and identified the importance of intrinsic motivation in the acceptance of information technology (IT), especially hedonic systems such as online game and online shopping, the acceptance of programming languages such as Java were not studied in a view of intrinsic motivations. The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of intrinsic motivation on the acceptance of programming language by the longitudinal analysis. In the service of the objective, we suggested the research model which included both intrinsic and extrinsic motivations and longitudinally extended by belief updating theory. For the validation of this model, the university students who participated Java class were surveyed twice, and the suggested research were analyzed by partial least square (PLS). In result, most of the suggested hypotheses were supported.
